Lana wasn't able to hide the surprise in her features as Kouichi did his playful bow. Now seriously, if he was any other guy she'd probably have turned around and kicked him in the face. Why?
Well...she wasn't entirely sure why. She almost felt like a man talking 'like a gentleman' to her was patronizing. At the same time, when Kouichi did it she felt the strong urge to laugh. And at the same time with that? Something about it made her feel uncomfortable in the pit of her stomach. She wasn't entirely sure what it was, but it was rather strong. It felt like it was trying to make her sick, but at the same time it felt...it almost made her want to laugh all the time.
...Was that healthy?
She shook her head, trying to focus. She gave Kouichi an unamused look but still reached her hand out, taking his in hers.
"Of course," she answered rather politely, despite the looks she gave. Time to get this over with...

Okay, so his gesture wasn't exactly appreciated, but he somehow didn't feel bad about making it. He linked her arm in his and led her out onto the stage, where the curtain was still drawn.
Meanwhile, Kouji wanted to puke from the amount of fluffy sweetness filling the air around the two of them. He sighed. It wasn't like he could do anything about it.

Lana took a slow and deep breath as she was led out onto the stage. She stared at the curtain for the longest moment it felt, before she looked over at Kouichi and asked, "You nervous?"

"Heck yeah... you?"
Here behind the curtain, he allowed his tail to twitch nervously back and forth. He felt restless. He felt nervous. But somehow, the fact that his brother and Lana were there to support him eased his doubts.

"Nope," Lana lied.
Okay, so maybe it wasn't entirely a lie. She really had no clue what she was feeling at the moment, besides awkward. She was going to be dancing. She danced at the ball and everyone thought she was terrible. Ludro did better than her even, and he was drunk.
But now she was here in front of so many people...gah, she thought she'd have been dead by now, what kind of god actually thought it was a good idea to keep her alive?
This was Kouichi's fault. It had to be. She sighed and got herself ready, she just needed to start on cue.
"...a little," she finally muttered to Kouichi before the curtains rose.

He smiled. "Wish me luck," he said, then stepped out onstage. Finding a microphone waiting for him, he adjusted into it, then started to speak.
“Today, we’re going to dance a very special dance for you... a dance that tells a special story. We choreographed it ourselves.”
He paused for a moment, then continued.
“It is a short story, about three minutes long. The story is about a raven, a prince, and the prince’s faithful knight. The raven and the prince are supposed to be at war… but, sometimes, war is not so simple as good and evil. The prince and raven have fallen in love, but must keep it a secret from the prince’s brother – the knight. Tonight, the knight has come to defeat the raven once and for all, unknowing that the prince was going to meet her in that very spot. Now, we ask you to turn your attention to us for a brief span of time as we bring you Hold Me Now.”
A spotlight lit, showing Lana onstage. The music started.
(Play - Nanne Gronvall - Hold Me Now (Hall Om Mig Nu (LanaxKouichi - Dance Contest)) [Melodifestivalen 2005])
Lana started dancing. Another spotlight lit, this time on Kouji. He joined in her dance, the two wrestling for the lead in the dance, eventually coming to face each other defensively.
Kouichi appeared onstage, dancing quietly by himself. Kouji danced up behind him, the two dancing together for a while, until Kouichi pretended to fall. Lana leaped over to them, helping him just in time, and the two began to dance together. Confused, Kouji danced back, watching the two of them so close.
Kouichi and Lana moved their dance to Kouji, who pretended to shove Kouichi away. He and Lana started to fight, Lana with motions mimicking magic, Kouji with acrobatic leaps and turns to demonstrate his strength. He leaped away, seemingly in confusion, as Kouichi returned to the picture. He and Lana danced happily for a while. Kouji, however, snuck up behind them, and pulled Lana off of Kouichi. Kouichi went back to Lana, spinning her in close and leaned over her as if to kiss her. Kouji once again pulled him off of her, throwing him aside, and the two began, once again, to battle. Unnoticed, Kouichi moved to one side, prepared to intervene as necessary. Kouji gained the upper hand in the fight, and, when poised to strike Lana at a vulnerable spot, Kouichi jumped in, taking the blow.
Lana seemed stricken, reaching out to Kouichi as he fell, but he would not get up. She got back up, and started to fight Kouji with an intensity not yet seen.
With one final action, Kouichi grabbed Kouji’s foot, tripping him, and shook his head, reaching out to both of them. They stepped apart as he died.
Kouji collapsed next to him, appearing to cry over Kouichi’s dead body. As he continued, the spotlight turned off, and, hidden in the darkness, Kouichi got up, shedding his outer costume – his cloak and crown. A spotlight turned to him, now as a ‘spirit,’ on top of a prop cliff. He leaped, Lana jumped and caught him, and the spotlight turned on on Kouji once more, who looked in surprise as he saw only a cloak and crown where his brother’s body had lay. Lana and Kouichi danced over to Kouji, and Lana helped him up. Kouichi leaned over her to kiss her as the song ended and the lights went out.
(End - Nanne Gronvall - Hold Me Now (Hall Om Mig Nu (LanaxKouichi - Dance Contest)) [Melodifestivalen 2005])
The lihgts, however... had gone out a second too early... in the darkness of the empty stage, Kouichi leaned in a bit too far, and found his lips actually meeting Lana's...

Lana's eyes widened. This wasn't part of the dance. Well, it was...but not this, it...it wasn't supposed to be real!
What the hell did he think he was doing, anyway!? Kouichi, that little jerk!
Any other man...if it had been any other guy...she remembered seeing what Frexton did to Jasmine earlier. No different, had it had been him she'd have punched him so hard in the face...he'd have to cry out of his ass for the rest of his life.
But she couldn't. hit. Kouichi.
And this whole time her mind had been racing with so many thoughts, she never once reacted. Had this had been any other guy, she wouldn't have had a thought, only a reaction--a boot to the head, that's what. But this whole time she'd been standing here, frozen. On one hand, it didn't feel bad or anything, it was just...so odd!!
Without further hesitation, Lana pulled back, backing away a few steps with the most puzzled look on her face. She really had no clue what to say to this, she just stared forward in Kouichi's direction, her eyes wide with confusion and mouth still half-open.

Kouichi's eyes widened. Lana pulled away. He flushed under the cover of the stark darkness.
"I... I'm sorry... I..."
He was too embarassed to get any words out. And besides... he didn't really think 'it was an accident' would fly too well, here. If he weren't about to sink into the floor in mortified embarassment, he'd probably ask her not to hit him, but as it was, he couldn't manage a single word.
The strange thing was that... it had felt good. Not that he'd ever mention that within Lana's earshot.

Lana couldn't see him too well, but she could certainly hear that he was unimpressed with himself. As weird as it was, she felt bad for him. It was almost like he was scared of her, and that for some reason made her feel bad. She didn't usually care what people thought of her but...
She felt she had to do something, but what? Tell him it's okay? 'Cause it...totally wasn't. Despite how good it felt it...no, it wasn't cool.
'Oh god he sounds so worried. Don't be so worried! I'm not going to punch YOU in the face!'
Lana froze again for a moment as she stared ahead at the barely visible figure of Kouichi in the dark. She felt she had to settle him down, and without much thought put behind it she reached out and grabbed him by the shoulders and pulled him towards her. She pressed one of her fingers against his lips to shush him and his stuttering, and the moment she removed it her lips moved in to take its place, back against Kouichi's.
And this one wasn't an accident.

He was surprised, that was for sure... but he accepted it. When this one ended... he wasn't sorry.
"....Lana..."
He didn't know what else to do.... he was lost in a sea of emotions that threatened to overwhelm him.

And honestly, she didn't know what to do, either. She'd just...done it. When they pulled back from each other this time Lana blinked at Kouichi, her eyes with an unusually soft look to them.
Wow. She actually just did that.
"Do you think less of me?" she asked, a little louder than she'd have liked to say it. It was weird, she had a feeling she could already guess what he would answer with...but she was going to make sure.
Was this right?
Did anyone say it was wrong?
Did she really give a damn what anyone else thought?
It felt right. And if it felt right, it was right.

"O-Of course not."
He was having a hard time getting the words to form properly. He realized he should probably let go of her now, but he suddenly felt so dizzy.
And, for the first time in his life, he truly felt like he belonged somewhere.

Lana rubbed her lips together softly, feeling so weird that they had just touched another pair shortly before. She never even bothered to push Kouichi away, nor did she pull herself away from him.
"Good," she answered softly before her grip tightened slightly on him, "...we should probably get off the stage, now."
It had all felt like some odd, odd dream. Almost like the one she had with Xisa, except not as creepy.
....SO not as creepy.

Kevin blinked at Xisa, once, twice, then he burst into long fits of laughter. Once he finally finished, he wiped his eyes of tears and said.
"So you're part of the dance compitetion?"
...
Andy watched the dance play on...but as they kissed his jaw DROPPED. He stared before muttering, "He...kissed...her. IS HE INSANE OR SOMETHING?!"
Andy was not anti-love, but he was anti-Lana.

"I do not know, Trucido just bought me suit. I suggested to him that I should sit out. He insisted on me dancing. So, I am a dancer." He said as he washed his hands. He pulled out a spray bottle and he spray what every that was in his mouth.
