((I know this is a really long post, but I got bored and decided to add some drama/tragedy to my character. Because I like making them miserable like that. Hah.))
Aeyara stood outside of a small home, shifting nervously from foot to foot while internally debating whether or not to pass by and forget it or try to go inside.
Its been four years now, and you never even sent them anything. If you don't do it now then when? she though to herself and sighed. She had left home what seemed like a small lifetime ago, and a lot of things had changed. Now she had come back home to at very least say hello to her family, but she was nervous what they would say. They had not been very supportive of her dreams of leaving to find adventure, and she left with only a goodbye note. Hopefully they would be happy to see her. Either that or they wouldn't let her in.
She finally made up her mind, sighed again and stepped up to the door and knocked...
A minute passed and there was no answer, so she knocked again, dreading the reason they wouldn't even open the door.
Are they still that mad at me? she thought, frowning.
Still, there was no answer. Not even a sound from inside.
Ah, hell, I lived in this house for 18 years, whats the worst that could happen if I let myself in? she thought, getting frustrated and reached for the door, even though knowing her family it would be locked.
Surprisingly, it wasn't. She went inside and looked around, knowing something was wrong the moment she stepped in. There was no light, or anything. There had used to be a few things hanging on the walls, but all if that was gone. The house was completely empty.
Confused, Aey backed out of the house, then looked around to see if anyone had noticed her. Then, she went to the home next to it, hoping that the old lady she remembered who lived there would know what had happened.
After a few knocks the lady opened the door and stared at her for a moment, then recognition dawned on her face, and she smiled slightly.
"I remember you... The little girl who lived next door.. Er... Eyra, right?"
"Aeyara." she corrected, a little too caught up in the current problem to get upset about the mess up.
"Ah, yes... Well, you've certainly grown, haven't you?" the old woman smiled at her, then frowned a bit.
"Well, I suppose you're wondering where your parents and little sister went, aren't you?" she didn't stop for an answer. "That's what we're all thinking, dear. One day they just up and disappeared. No note, didn't leave a thing behind, and no one saw or heard them leave. Just, one day, 'poof!' and its as if they were never here." she said, moving her hands animatedly, getting excited with her little bit of gossip.
Aeyara stared at her for a while, not sure to believe it. It wasn't like them to leave without saying goodbye or anything, no explanation at all.
"Wierd.." she muttered, then looked at the lady again.
"Well, thank you anyway..." she said. Yeah, thanks for nothing.
A few hours later she found herself wandering the streets, staring blankly, lost in her head, trying to figure out where they could have gone to. She accidentally bumped into someone while she hadn't been looking, mumbled out a sorry and moved towards a building, leaning against a wall and continued staring at nothing, confused and somewhat hurt. Then again, she hadn't exactly been the easiest person to reach...
