*He mentally growled when he heard Seig's voice, but he didn't show it, he turned with a bright, cocky smile.*
Mark: You should, all it took was a cup of tea and muffins and they let me through, seems you need people more loyal. *He had hoped Seig didn't hear his plot to assassinate one of the Sumata.* But don't worry, I'm here for business purposes only.
*He then pulled up what he knew about sign language and did it behind his back to Anette, he doubt she would have understand but heck, might as well try. It said, 'Sumata, don't attack.' At least he did it the best he could.*

Annette couldn't tell what Mark was doing with his hands, but the point he was trying to inform her got across the moment she felt the tension between them.
"S-sir?" she muttered under her breath, unable to finish her sentence. The presence that the newcomer gave of was nerve-wracking, and obviously he noticed her power, causing much more worry on Annette's side.
Oh please don't look at me. she thought Suspect that it was someone else who did it, not me. Just start thinking that I'm just a girl with a gun on her back and nothing more. Please.

"Well Mark, last time I checked I don't recall liking your kind of business, what with how badly I got burned the last time I did business with you." He stared down the boy till the faint mutter of Annette broke his attention.
Seigmand refocused on the girl, disregarding Mark as he walked right up to her to get a closer look. He immediately saw the "Soldier for Sale" sign and couldn't help but grin to himself.
"Well, a mercenary are we? You know young one, here in Silicus City it takes a lot more than a sign to get a job here. But then, I'd assume rock breaking is a step in the right direction." He glanced at the bisected rock for a moment before raising a curious eyebrow. "You know, seeing as how I might be in the need of some more competent guards, I could consider someone like you for a job in my kingdom. What do you say?"

*Mark opened his mouth to say something else to Sieg when he moved past him to Anette, he scowled, his eyes flared with light power surging through him.*
Watch your step, I might just burn you again...
*He wanted to step between the two but the truth was she can choose who to go with, Mark had no doubt he could pay better then himself. He shrugged, letting his light powers die down a bit as he waited for her decision.*

Annette's faced turned pink with surprise, two people -who obviously didn't like each other- both wanted her to work for them. But which would she choose? The one with the glasses would pay her better, but the sound of being a guard in this town didn't interest her. Plus, she had a weird twist in her gut that this guy was the type of guy to kill his own mother for power. On the other hand, most of the guards working here already are doing a poor job, with her loyalty she could easily accend the ranks and become something great.
Then there was Marks deal, working with heroes sounded more promissing, even if she wouldn't be an official member. Who knows? Maybe everyone will see her powers and invite her join. Annette paused, both sounded like good deals, but she had a hard time choosing.
After a few minutes of mumbling and deciding her fate, she politely smiled at the man with glasses "Sounds good, but I'm afraid you're to late. I'm currently working for someone else at the moment. If the offer is still open when I'm done with my current client...maybe." Annette said, she didn't want to hurt Mark, but it was the truth. If this whole thing fails, she still wants to have a plan B, even if it's working for someone like him.

Though caught off guard by the girl's decision, Seigmand had only to look closer at the entire situation before he understood. Her eyes glanced over to Mark for only a half second, and seeing the young angel waiting patiently explained it all. Seigmand smiled back. "Of course dear, after all a mercenary may choose their own path the same as anyone." He then ducked in close to whisper in her ear. "But be wary of him my dear, for a world like his offers neither glory nor riches. Merely battle." Before waiting for a response he turned back and started towards the crowd that had gathered.
Just before slipping into the masses, he turned to Mark with a sly grin, "Employing someone else for you dirty work eh Mark? Well, I guess there's hope for you yet boy. Best of luck."

*He raised an eye to his comment to him, not seeing any need to retort to him he looked back at Annette.*
Mark: Don't worry, from the time I've spent as a commander I've learned never to make anyone do something that you wouldn't, besides, you're with me, I know more about a battlefield then any human. *He walked to her.* But I guess I should thank you, I was sure for a moment you're were going to join him. So I guess this makes us officially partners, huh?

"I-I." she stammered as Seigmand left, she was confused by his statement, but shrugged it off and smiled. "It's no problem, any other Mercenary would jump at his offer, but as I said before, you came to me first. So I'll work for you first." she said "B-but that doesn't mean I'll go running to him when we're finished with our mission!" her face turned light pink with embarrasment.
Annette turned her head back toward the crowd "Hope you don't mind, but it's obvious that you know him...Can you tell me who he is?...and maybe who're we assassinating?"

*He raised an eyebrow in confusion at her embarrassment but then answered what she said, it was important to know.*
Mark: He was a Sumata, crazy one too. Thinks he himself can put an end to the war and tried to make me join him, I said no and he got mad then I well... beat him. *He decided not to tell how the light god took control over him and beat Seigmand.* Oh yeah, back to the point before he came. I've been planning this attack for awhile, it'll be hard but I know exactly how sneak past the defenses in Vuoto to assassinated their leader which is a Sumata. Even if we can't take him out we'll be able to make a point to the Sumata. Do you understand?

"Sir, yes sir!" she exclaimed, a grin appearing on her face. "When do we leave?" she asked "I have all my equiptment and supplies with me, but if you need to get some things, I can help."

*He laughed a bit.*
Mark: Nah, I've got everything and if it's okay I'd like to leave right away so we can get there by nightfall. *He said then snapped his fingers.* And don't worry about the payment, I'll get you enough.

Annette smiled sweetly "Great! I was hoping to leave right away, but I just wanted to be sure you didn't forget anything." She began to skip ahead of him "And payment...glad you remembered! I sometimes forget to ask my clients for my earnings. Lost out on a lot of money that way." she giggled and waited for him to catch up "Alright, lead the way sir!"

*He walked a good pace, listening to what she said.*
Mark: If everything goes well you should have your pay in no time. *he nodded then stepped ahead of her leading the way. It would be awhile but by Mark's calculations they were to arrive on time.*
