Annabelle was thrown backwards harshly by Jasmine's sudden attack, disarming the older woman as she fell onto her back. She sat up and stared at Jasmine for a long moment...and then grinned.
"See," she finally spoke, "that wasn't so hard now, was it?"

Jasmine continued to lay where she was, staring at Annabelle. Her body still hurt all over and she didn't want to move.
"I can see everything now...did I do this right?" Jasmine asked, just a little unsure of...well, what happens now.

Annabelle shook her head, slowly getting to her feet as she grabbed her staff. She leaned on it for support, making her way towards Jasmine and outstretching her hand towards the young girl.
"What you just did, my child, is exactly what you need to do in order to start your training," she smiled something with an odd sense of pride, "come along now, we must start our hard work..."

"Start?" was all Jasmine could say as she looked up at Annabelle, thinking what in the hell was going to come next and she reached out to take her grandmother's hand. As she did, suddenly everything went white, she became dizzy, and the last thing she felt was the horribly terrifying feeling of falling...
Jasmine then jolted awake, coughing up water...her whole body was covered in water. Wait, what? She shot her eyes open and sat up, breathing heavily as she looked around. They were back in the room with the spring, it was dimly lit, their shoes were by the pool and she was entirely soaked.
"What...what just happened?" she immediately said, coming out more as a demand than a real question.

"What you just did was burn away all of your impurities," Annabelle answered, kneeling behind Jasmine and handing her her warm and dry robe, "cleansed your body, which allowed you to work on your mind. Once your mind is open, cleared, you will be able to see things like the spirits that wander our world--many will sit and watch, coming to you as you call upon them. Others will attack you and try to take over your body. If you are able to sense and see them, you have a better chance of fighting them off and therefore take another step into the ranks of a divine servant."
Annabelle rose to her feet and stuck her hand out to Jasmine to help her up.
"Come now. This was the most important step, and now I will take you out to the world where you will learn the basics of spirit channelling and using what which the gods give you for tools to protect and serve them and the world we live in."
With that, Annabelle lead the two of them back out of the room, down the narrow and dark hallway, and out onto the shore towards the boat. As they climbed back in and she started the sail back, she looked over to Jasmine. It wasn't uncommon for a girl Jasmine's age to be able to perform the things she could, but at the same time it was quite difficult for someone of that age to do it. At her age, she barely knew anything. Annabelle found it fortunate for the Loque girl to have as much book knowledge as she did...though if she hadn't, she probably wouldn't have made the pact with the gods to begin with.
Annabelle looked back out onto the water as the moon was still high in the sky, glowing an odd colour. It was then that she noticed something else out on the water with them.
"...What is that?" she asked quietly, squinting out at the object a few ways away.

"Any luck?" A voice said. "No, this Island is clear." A higher pitch said. There was a boat with a throne and blue flames next to it. "King Xïsa, there is not anything on the islands." "Keep searching." He ordered his troops.

Jasmine looked over the edge of the boat, seeing the other boat out in the water not too far away. Unlike Annabelle, Jasmine easily recognized one of the figures in it.
"T-that's King Xisa of Ketalunanox, Grandmother," she whispered worriedly, "what do you think we should do? We'll end up right in their path..."

Annabelle grinned widely.
"There's only one thing we can do, Granddaughter. Seduce and conquer," she then turned and silently chuckled to herself as she saw the outrageous look on Jasmine's face, "but in seriousness, we keep on our course and take the inevitable meeting up with him. Keep your head together, we'll be fine. You have grandma here, of course."
And the small boat continued on its journey...right for Xisa's.

"Sire, there is a boat own starboard side!" One of the soldiers on the boat pointed. Xïsa looked over and saw the boat. "How many people are in it?" He asked "An elderly lady, and a young woman." the soldier said, as he looked closer at the boat. "Bring them on board." He said. The soldiers threw a rope at the boat. "By order of King Xïsa, you must get on board."

Annabelle raised an eyebrow at the men who grappled their boat. She kept her smile and turned to Jasmine.
"Did you hear that, Granddaughter? We're being ordered by the king of Ketulunanox to get onto his boat. You think he wants to chat and drink tea? Heeheeheeheeee!" she answered almost joyfully as she reached her staff out to Jasmine and gave her a tap. She rose to her feet and held her hand out, almost as though she were ordering the men who help her across to Xisa's boat.
"Come along. We can't dawdle now."

Jasmine's eyes widened incredulously. Was she serious?! Did she even have a clue what kind of person Xisa was? Jasmine knew she definitely didn't want to see Xisa again, he caused enough trouble; nearly being killed by him on the Shade Mountains, the ball, and the battle with him in the Caribbean was wayyyy more than enough Xisa Tyrant for Jasmine in her lifetime.
But of course there just went her grandmother willingly leaping into Xisa's boat to go meet him...for what she seemed to assume was going to be tea. Oh dear.
Jasmine looked worriedly across to the other boat, getting a terrible feeling in her stomach as she reluctantly followed, however dawdling behind her grandmother. She didn't want to go anywhere near Xisa. No, no no no no no.
No.

Xïsa watched as the old lady got on the boat. He looked at the boat and saw a blond girl still on the boat. Xïsa walked down, and said "Why are you two here? I ordered for everyone to left the rapids."

Annabelle kept her smile, simply shrugging at Xisa's words. She then held her arms out and spoke expressively to him.
"Ahh, but they are not so rapid now, are they? We are on a journey to discover great truths, to cleanse our spirits, and better ourselves to serve our world and appease our gods--through all of this, we find our own sanctuary and serenity within ourselves."
Yes, Annabelle seriously just answered him like that. She kept smiling, bringing her arms back in with her staff closely at her side. She saw Jasmine dawdling like the foolish girl she was so she sharply waved the girl over to stand by her.

"If you are done here than leave...." He said as then then saw the girl's face. "Jasmine Loque, the enemy is in our mist." He draw out his sword. "I think you should stay, in our cages."

Jasmine had stepped beside her grandmother and frowned up at Xisa. She trembled, standing before him but at least this time she wasn't quick to scream and run away.
...well, not yet, anyway.
"A-actually, sir, I think I should leave with my grandmother. I am of no threat to you," she answered him quietly.
