It had been smooth sailing (pun intended) when Faeylinn had left Nerrezza. Which bored her to no end. She checked the maps every five minutes and then returned to staring at whatever scenery happened to be passing at the moment. After about half an hour of monotony she began singing '99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall'. Then she sang it again. After that she moved on to 'Banana Phone'. It continued like this for about an hour with 'The Song That Goes Like This' from Spamalot, 'Omigod You Guys' from Legally Blonde the musical, 'Don't Stop Believin' by Journey, the Scooby-Doo theme song, the Pokemon theme song and, finally, a few hundreds rousing choruses of 'The Song That Gets On Everybody's Nerves'. Now she was not only severely bored but she was getting on her own nerves. After another hour she made sure she wasn't going to hit anything and laid down on the deck for a quick nap. When Faeylinn woke up again the sky was dark, but she wasn't in Ketalunox yet, judging by the rather ordinary ngiht sky. She got up, stretching. "Jeesh, remind me not to sleep on the deck again- HOLY SHIT!" She grabbed the wheel and turned it desperately, trying to avoid the small rocky island that had seemed to pop up out of nowhere while she wasn't watching. But her reaction was too slow and a rather sharp rock destroyed the hull with a nasty 'crunch' and a sudden, jarring stop that actually threw her out of the boat and into the shallow water. Which, just her luck, was freezing cold.

There was a crash, a crunch, and one helluva splash which was more than enough to convince Cassandra, who had been lazing about the shore on an island nearby, to run out and check it out. Sunny, her faithful and loveable dog sat by her side and watched the ship crash and sink.
"Argh, tha ship'd were a bigger 'un than de one we got, Sunny," Cassandra complained loudly, having been watching the larger ship intently and had been intending on stealing it had she gotten close enough to board it, "they'd gone and crashed it good. Can ye see de cap'n of it? Where they gone to? Find 'em, aye?"
Sunny let out a bark before running off to the side, wading slowly into the water and swimming out to the crashed ship. He caught the strange scent of the human girl and swam out to her, panting happily. Cassandra followed not too far in after Sunny, her pant legs rolled up to her knees as she waded through the water out to Faeylinn.
"AYE! Anyone out there? Show yer face!" she called out, drawing her pistol cautiously.

Faeylinn stood up in the water, shivering and shaking out her pirate hat. It was still dripping, but she put it back on her head anyway before turning to the woman who's dog had approached her and waved. "Hiya! My name's Faeylinn, do you mind telling me where I am?" She wrappped her arms around herself as she waded towards the shore.

Cassandra blinked. Sunny barked and jumped up at Faeylinn happily.
"Yer in de middle o' da flippin' ocean, lil' girl!" Cassandra yelled, "and ye gone an' wrecked yer vessel!"
Well, at least Sunny seemed happy to see the girl. Cassandra ranted another moment or so longer, flailing her revolver in her hand around as she did so. When she finally settled down she pointed it back at Faeylinn.
"I be Captain Cassandra Barlot--an' where ye be comin' from? Where ye goin'?"

She laughed and scratched the dog behind the ear as she answered. "Nice to meet you, Cassandra! I was on my way to Ketalunox from Nerezza- my friend told me there's a beautiful night sky there- and I laid down and took a nap, and now, well, I sunk the boat." She grinned and shrugged, obviously not worrying about it much.

Cassandra blinked, the girl kept blabbing on and on and on and never once noticed or even showed she cared that a fully-loaded gun was being pointed at her.
Perhaps she was more of a threat than Cassandra originally thought. If that were the case, she'd have to stay on her toes. Sunny was more than happy to have Faeylinn around though, panting happily and curling up by the girl as she stroked his ears.
"Aye, Ketulunanox be beautiful at night--that's also when de most vicious of beasts show up. Shame ye sunk yer vessel but a good cap'n doesn't take a nap when she be the only one manning her ship," Cassandra half-scolded, not having any place to as she occasionally took in a nap on deck herself.
What was she supposed to do now? She could offer to help the girl on the rest of her journey, but at the same time she was worried about being robbed herself. Hmm...

Faeylinn shrugged and sat down on the beach, still petting the dog. "Well, I was bored and tired. And I've got two questions for you, Cassandra. 1; What's your dog's name? 2; Why are you on this island? You stuck here or just visiting?"

Cassandra seriously didn't know if she should put the gun down or not. She kept it up just in case, but somehow she was finding that maybe she might not need it... ? "Me dog's name be Sunny. As ye can see, he's a cheery fella," she answered the first question with a bit of a disappointed glare at her dog, "we stopped on the island to relax a bit. Mine ship is sitting.........." Don't tell her where the ship is. "....around here, somewhere. It be not important! Where in de hell's yer crew?!"

"Well, I'm here on my own. I don't have a crew." Faeylinn shrugged and then asked, "Where's your crew?"

"Ye be sassin' me, lassie? Me crew be...ehhh...i-it be nearby! So ye better not stir up any troub--Sunny, yer killin' the moment."
Cassandra frowned as Sunny got too comfortable, rolling over on his back and begging to have his tummy rubbed. She sighed aggravatedly and finally put her gun away. Obviously if the dog liked the girl this much she couldn't have been that bad. Cassandra parked her butt on the sandy beach by Faeylinn, still rolling her eyes at her dog.
"A'ight. Yer goin' te Ketulunanox are ye? What business ye got out there, just a bit o' sight-seein'?"

Faeylinn rubbed Sunny's belly happily, oblivious to any waryness in Cassandra's words or actions. "Just wanted to see the night sky. A friend of mine that I met in Nerezza told me it was even better than the night sky they had there. I just felt like going to see it."

Sight-seeing, definitely. Cassandra looked around and then sighed. In truth, though she had Sunny she had honestly been just a little lonely out here by herself, really...
"Got another question for ye, then I'll be stoppin' with 'em. Ye got any money?"
Typical Cassandra...

"Money? No, I don't think so..." She began checking her pockets, digging in the left, then the right. She pulled out a soggy five dollar bill from earth. "Well, this is all I have, and I don't think it's any good here... Why do you ask?"

Cassandra frowned.
"Nothin'..." she mumbled, hoping that the girl had money on her so she could charge her for transportation services. Cassandra at the moment had nothing and so did the girl, what else did you do? She needed a crew, though...hmm...
"Soooo," she started again, "ye be needing to go to Ketulunanox, eh? I be needin' a crew. I be havin' no money to give ye fer yer work, but at least if ye work I can get ye to where yer goin'...if ye want, that is..."

Faeylinn seemed confused for a moment. didn't she say she had a crew?... Or did she just say that? She must not've trusted me. "Alright, sure! I'll serve as your temporary crew and we can go to Ketalunox, sounds fair enough!"
