Darkness Descends on the Forests

[Maliciferum]

Malice sneered. "I'm glad you asked." He walked slowly towards Zee, taking each step purposefully, as he said "I recently had an epiphany while walking through the forest one evening. I realized how this world would end, who would end it and what that would mean for my darling plants." Malice was but a few feet from Zee and he stopped. "As I have clearly demonstrated, the power of the lord of chaos is immense, and thus, now is mine." Malice bent over to look Zee square in the face. "Trucido will bring about the end of this world. It pains me to say so, but I cannot deny truth. The Heroes simply are not strong enough to prevent this tragedy, so I decided to cut my losses and join him in order to save the plant life of this world." Malice stood again and turned his back on Zee. "Now go. Reveal what you have learned to the others. Tell them that Nature is coming for them." Malice laughed and walked back to his throne at the center of the bower.

(now for something cliche and dramatic to say)

Zee stood there for a few seconds, taking in the words that Malice had said. He looked up, his body already feeling the drain of the magic he had used. "You know what," he stretched, preparing his body for a teleport, "those words will come back to tap you on the shoulder soon. When they do, I'll pity the decision you made." He brought his hands up and clapped them. "Teleport!" There was a small puff of smoke, and Zee was gone.
