The creatures lunged, and Kouji smiled as he saw the opening he'd been waiting for. He struck them with his staff, each in turn, smacking them as they charged him. He leaped over their stunned forms and struck for their roots, trying to knock them down.

The beasts let out angry roars as Kouji whacked away at them. The closest one to Kouji immediately whipped its long stem around, its jaws coming back to clamp down on the boy even as he attacked its roots.
Lilith stopped where she was and listened carefully to what was going on behind her. She turned her head in Kouji's direction, watching him hack away at her lovely beasts - it appeared even her most loved pets were having some difficulties with the young man.
"...No matter. I've got something that'll stop him for good," she quietly said to herself as a group of long vines grew out of the ground by her feet, standing nearly as tall as she did. Lilith then reached into the bag by her side and pulled out a tiny vial with a dark liquid in it. Almost like it could read her mind, the vine closest to her instantly grew a large leaf which held itself out like a cup. Lilith smiled as she opened up the vial and poured its contents into the leaf.
"I've always had a liking for the Solanaceae family, they have such amazing flowers, wouldn't you agree?" she asked her plant buddies all around her, "such as the Deadly Nightshade. Containing alkaloid atropine, the juices I've extracted from the young plants will cause him at the very best some nausea, muscle twitching, and paralysis...if it doesn't kill him, that is. Be a dear and make sure this goes down that little monster's throat."
The last sentence came out more bitter than it probably should have, yet she smiled as her eager pets sprang into action and made their way toward Kouji. Lilith corked the now-empty bottle, placing it back in her bag and stood awaiting to see what was going to happen.

Kouji saw the plants coming, and the cupped leaf holding the liquid. He jumped back, staff out in front of him, ready to keep the plant away if it got any closer. He grimaced.
If I get through this alive, I'll be lucky, he thought.

Lilith smiled as the other vines that tagged along with the one holding the Deadly Nightshade leaped out ahead, whipping around and reaching for Kouji's staff. In the meantime, the others were busy trying to grab the boy and hold him still.
"Quit fighting it, little boy," Lilith called out to him, "you're surrounded all over with enemies - one man cannot take down the forest alone."
Just to add to the moment, she smiled rather sweetly at him then. "Just relax, it won't hurt you that much. Everything will be over before you even know it, look forward to it."

He glared at her.
"I swear, you're somewhere between Ran and Mer-"
He was cut off as a vine wrapped itself around him from behind.
"K'so," he swore succinctly. He fought with the one wrapped around the staff, trying to free himself from their grasp without breaking the staff.

With the couple of vines successfully grabbing ahold of Kouji, several others took the chance to move in a bit themselves. Lilith giggled.
"I'm feeling better already," she said as she began twirling her hair around her finger, "go to it, lovelies. Show him what happens to ill-mannered guests that come in Alberisato."
With that, the plants moved in to try finishing him off.

He struggled against the hold of the plants, trying to avoid being killed by the liquid he was sure was poison. His efforts were in vain - he knew he was gonna die.
...at least, he was sure until a loud roar split the air and something came charging through the trees, a large - one could say gigantic - black shape tinged with gold that bolted toward the Sumata woman.

Lilith's grin grew even wider as her plants successfully took down the young man, yet just before the poison was forced into his mouth the roar had been heard loud and clear through the trees.
Lilith paused a moment to listen carefully to what was going on around her. The trees rattled their leaves, they were warning her that something was coming.
Something big, apparently. Something that...looked like a monster? Behind her!
Lilith quickly spun around and the thickest-trunked trees around her bended in any which direction they could to try to bring up a large shield in front of their queen. What the hell was going on?!

Whatever it was crashed against the trees, trying to break through them. When it couldn't, it spun on Kouji's attackers, ripping up foliage with large teeth and claws. When it seemed sure that the other was safe, it returned to the task of breaking through the trees.
During all of this action, it slowed down, revealing itself to be a huge black lion, wearing black armor edged in gold. Kouji just stood there, not so bound by plants, with his mouth agape.

Lilith's eyes widened as the enormous lion tore through her plants and then turned back to her trees. The branches shook the leaves violently yet, and as the lion clawed and tore some more at the thick grouping of trees that protected Lilith, even more slowly started to rise out of the ground and try to shield her.
"Get out of my forest, you terrible little...just who do you think you are?!" she shrieked over all of the noise.

The words weren't spoken in any way that anyone could possibly hear them... but they were, all the same, loud and clear.

The lion tore through more tree trunks, fighting to reach Lilith. At the voice, Kouji started, shocked and surprised. The lion ignored him - possibly because it couldn't see him - but it roared again.

Lilith really wasn't in the mood to listen to this...thing rant on about how she apparently did something to its brother. She didn't want to listen to anyone's sob story about their family, not when she just lost her own sister, anyway.
"I said...get out!" And the trees that guarded Lilith suddenly lashed out and swatted violently at the black lion, trying to throw it out of the forest.

The lion ducked, then turned around and picked up Kouji, tossing him so that he landed on it's back.
{Sorry, but we can't hang around. She's not gonna make this easy for us.}
The words spoke directly into bot minds as the lion fled.

The furious queen glared up at the lion and watched as the lion-like figure fled with the other boy on its back. Anger itched away at her features and as her enemies shrank in the distance the defensive green world around her relaxed and returned back into that of a state of a normal forest.
Lilith sighed heavily. She closed her eyes and remembered the shape and size of the lion beast that was just here and suddenly the gears in her head started turning. With that, she turned herself and headed towards the Mother Tree, trying to think of a beast she could create herself to take on and possibly destroy that lion that just came to save the boy from a certain death.
