"Of course," he replied, lookign her up and down appreciatively and sitting next to her. He grabbed a drink from a tray - something tasty but low on alcohol, because he WAS protecting his king, no matter what it looked like he was doing - and sipped it, looking up at her while doing so. It was intended for it's flirtatious effect. Alex was good at charming people, he'd found.

Alexander grinned. "Of course we have ice cream - just for you! It's not a good party if you don't have ice cream for your friends, anyway," Alexander was quick to snap his fingers at a servant nearby who obediently dropped the tray he was carrying and ran off to fetch a bowl of the frozen dessert for Trucido.
"As for the kingdom...I can't really say. I'm going to say great, but dad's a downer. He's upstairs grumbling because I'm 'partying instead of doing my job'. But you said yourself this party would be a great idea, and you're like...the king of everything, right? He's just grouchy, said something about having to have a talk with you later or something..." it appeared that even after his first meeting with Trucido, the young prince still hadn't taken the effort to learn more about the Sumata or its leaders. That was something Holmes would get him to do later, for sure.
((I believe I started this before Bradley was killed? >.o Is it cool if I write in while they're AT the party that Bradley wanted to meet Trucido? If it's uncool I'll just modify the post))

Chika smiled; she liked where this was going.
"So," she started, stirring her drink with a straw, "you look as though you are a bit of a young captain, don't you? Then again, your king over there is quite young himself, isn't he? I hear King Bradley is...done, so to speak."
A drip of her drink fell upon her lips and rather than use a slender finger to wipe at it, she swirled her tongue over it - giving herself more of a voluptuous look as she continued.
"Might I ask how long you've done been captain? Are you from Santo-Luce yourself, sir?"
She was playful in the asking of her questions, however many she asked.

He smiled back at her, flashing a pearly grin.
"Yes, he is... and... I've heard the same thing." He glanced over at his king - he was talking to Trucido, so he should be safe for a while. Alex looked back at Chika and smiled. "I've been a captain for almost two years now, and I've been in Santo-Luce for a little over two and a half. Where I lived before that I don't know. A mystery, isn't it?"
He liked the mystery about himself. Gave him a bit of an edge. His black cloak shifted a little, but it was barely noticeable... He hadn't moved, for sure.

There was a slight delightful squeal in Chika's voice as she leaned in closer to Alex with an "Oooooh...I like myself a good mystery!"
In truth, he was a really cute guy. However, she wasn't sure if she was really attracted to the man or not - she was really only here to find information, and as much of it as she could about whatever she could find it on. On one hand, she was slightly worried that the captain had shown up by her to keep her distracted from her self-designated mission... On the other hand, it could work to her advantage if she played him up a little like she was.
"So, is it a case of amnesia, you figure? Do you actively try to find out about your past?" as she spoke, she ran her long fingernail gently along her lips, batting her eyelashes every now and then at Alex.

He knew a seduction technique when he saw it, but he was delighted to play along. She was a hottie.
"Actively? Not really... I've put it behind me. Santo-Luce is my life now, wherever I come from. I owe it to this place to protect those who saved my life."
He smiled, leaning back in his chair. He'd heard people tell him he had an over-developed sense of honor for his under-developed sense of self-control. He didn't believe them... or didn't care. He'd never been able to decide which.

"Saved your life? How interesting...now how did anyone from Santo-Luce save your life?" Chika asked, dropping her cute and sexy tone for a moment as what he said truly did intrigue her at that moment. He'd been loyal to the Santo-Luce kingdom since someone from there saved him?
Instantly she was brought back to Ariadelvento, the horrific fall she had taken, the blood draining from her body, her skull shattering...she could feel every inch of pain... And it was that woman from Guasto who had saved her, then. Since then, she'd lived and was still loyal to the kingdom of Guasto.
'Interesting how this works...what a peculiar man...'

He looked away then, dropping his entire facade of charm and speaking only with his natural voice. In just an instant, he'd changed from a flirtatious young man to the serious captain of Santo-Luce's finest men, bodyguard to the King Himself.
"The first thing I remember is running. Running... and... darkness. Whatever I was running from blended with the darkness itself to the point where it was invisible. Even though I can't remember much, I do remember the knowledge that if I even stopped for a single moment, they would overtake me, and I would suffer a fate worse than death."
He looked back at her, his green eyes empty of all emotion other than remembrance. "Their claws tore at my legs, and I was already badly wounded... at least, that's what the healer said. I ran, and ran, hating the fear and hating the darkness, until I couldn't run anymore. I tripped, fell... and the light was the last thing I saw before I passed into unconsciousness. That's how the castle healer found me - almost dead on his doorstep. He found me an nursed me back to health. I had no memory, so he offered me a place to live. Because I was a good fighter, I joined the army."
He smiled, and the facade was back in place once more. "So that's the story... that old healer saved my life, and for that I'm eternally grateful."

Seigmand entered the brightly lit and finely decorated castle, tossing his ponytail off to one side as he came in. He had heard young Alex was throwing a party and was hoping it'd give him the chance to meet a few new people. A few people had already assembled, most of them he'd met in passing with his connections to the Sumata. Seigmand headed towards Prince Alex, one of the more familiar faces in the party, greeting him with a formal bow as he neared the lad.
"Thank you for the invite Alexanader. It's been a while since I've been able to relax for a night." He let his shoulder slump a bit in ease. Taking one of the glasses of wine of the tray he took a sip and enjoyed the taste and feel of the smooth drink as it passed his lips. "Ahh, they don't make anything nearly as good in Roccia. Lack of decent berries and such you know. There are some things I wish my kingdom could... borrow from the others." His last remark left his lips with a coy smirk on them.

Alexander turned his attention from Trucido with a big grin and approached Seigmand. "Hey, Seigmand bro! I'm glad you came, it wouldn't be a party here without you."
He really was pleased to see some of the Sumata members showing up - hopefully that meant he wasn't doing a terrible job already, though. His eyebrows raised as Seigmand took some wine and he laughed at the comment that was made about it.
"You're in Santo-Luce," Alexander said to Seigmand and shrugged, "everything in Santo-Luce is better, my friend."
It was then that he couldn't help but notice his loyal captain chit-chatting with quite the smokin' lady. He grinned, thinking, 'Awesome, he's takin' a chick home, I'm still waiting on mine to get here, and everything is going absolutely fantastic.'

Chika was almost a little surprised at how suddenly Alex's whole air changed, becoming that very serious and deadly loyal man that he was.
It was...kind of a turn-on.
She listened very intently to Alex's story; this thing chasing him in the dark was very much a mystery in itself, but the very thing about the tale that caught her attention the most was this 'old healer' who had found him and had taken him into the castle. Hearing his story brought back her own memories - a story very similar to his, surprisingly.
"Hang in there, dearie, I'm not letting you go like this...you're too pretty...too young to..." The voice had trailed off and Chika...lay there? She couldn't feel her body, she couldn't see, she could only vaguely hear that muffled voice.
The next thing she knew, she opened her eyes to see she was in a bed, and a little old woman was sitting beside her with her kind, wrinkly face smiling and dark grey eyes twinkling in the very little light in...a little shack?
"...Where am I?" she had asked. This wasn't Ventus, this wasn't anywhere near Ariadelvento. The old lady smiled and patted her hand.
"Guasto, my dear child..."
Chika shook herself out of her daydream and smiled at Alex, then. "That's...amazing, really. A very noble thing for you to do. You know, men like you are very few and far inbetween." She slowly shifted back into her comfortable self, running her finger along the rim of her drinking glass.

His flirtatious smile was back, and he picked up his own glass. "So I've heard... and you are a rare woman. So strong, yet so beautiful."
He took a sip and put the glass back down. Something stirred within him, but it was gone before he could place a finger on it. Memory, maybe?
Mentally, he shrugged it aside.

Chika's eyes met Alex's and she let out a small, playful giggle. "Oh, Captain Alex, I don't think to say I'm strong or beautiful is quite right. I just try to be a...respectable...lady," she grinned, "ashamed I'm not to say that this girl likes to escape her fancy balls, dresses, stuck-up men and everything else in the aristocratic hellworld of perfection and...'have a little fun'."
She sat up straight, downing the rest of her drink which was still about halfway done already. "I think we all need to be a little adventurous sometimes, even if it means we need to break some rules."

"Perfection is meaningless," he agreed. "What fun is order without a little chaos to stir things up?"
He was very much in agreemnt with that point. Despite his devotion to his duty and his country, he did feel the need to loosen up every so often. Strict rules - other than the ones he gave himself, of course - had always grated on his nerves. It was strange, in a way - he was two opposites bundled into one. Serious yet playful, orderly yet chaotic.

She checked to make sure no one was coming down the halls. As soon as she was positive the guards were busy with the party, Lana climbed in through one of the castle windows wearing a white garb, hoping that would convince anyone who saw her that she was at least not from Nerezza.
Giving another quick look around, she turned back to the window, leaning out of it slightly to open up a large box she had placed just outside. After opening the box, she started quickly pulling out four chickens, one by one, each with a painted number on them.
She grinned devilishly. 'This will be fantastic, the new guy won't know what's going on'
Dropping chickens '1', '2', '4', and '5' (the trick was to sit back and watch everyone try to find the non-existent '3') onto the floor and letting them run wild, she turned on her heel and headed towards the grand hall where the party was being held. She'd probably isolate herself, hiding in the corner, watching everyone...it would be fantastic.
