Malice stood in the cavern admiring the glowing walls. Any minute now, Aya would appear. He stood sorting out the words in his mind and nothing seemed to match the gravity of the situation. It simply wasnt enough to tell your greatest friend and ally "Hey, I joined the guy that could end up killing you, but dont worry, its all a trick. Oh, and i have to kill a hero to prove my allegiance to Trucido, is that ok?"
Malice was going to have to play this by ear.

Of course, Aya came in, it had been some time, his hair was different it had been that much time, for it was longer and in a warrior ponytail, rather than all over the place.
He walked up to the area Malice asked for his presence to be in, as he put his arms in a folded manner, and smiled at Malice.
"How's it going, friend? Something the matter?" He of course heard the call, and Aya quickly responded, unarmed as well.

Malice smiled at his friend. "It is good to see you, dear friend. My, you seem more warrior-like every time I see you!" Malice was afraid to get to the point, but he knew Aya could see the grief tugging at his mind.
"I need you to know something..."

Ayalan sighed and folded his arms, "Well I can't rely on my spiritual self all the time. " He bowed respectfully and sat down, waiting for Malice as he noted just this unhappiness pulling at him.
"Well then. I suppose you should tell me it, for the sake of our minds. You look weary with grief." Aya's outfit today was much the same as his hairstyle, in fact, it had the smell of the ocean waves, as he had recently voyaged around.

Malice looked down at his dearest friend, "I need you to understand what I'm about to do" he said. He began pacing around Aya in circles. "Everything I do has purpose, either great or small. Every action is made with the acceptance of its reaction..." Malice was rambling now. He stopped pacing and looked in Aya's eyes. "No matter what I do, no matter what my intent seems to be, I need you to trust me."

Aya folded his arms, as he felt himself sink to a new low of sudden judgment.
"Malice. What's going on? You're not as happy or as fun as usual. This is unbelievably serious, and I want to know what's up. I can't handle surprises much anymore. Not at this stage of my life." He seemed a bit lost, as if he KNEW Malice was perhaps leaving, looking down a bit with a bite of his own lip.

Malice took a stepped forward, a tone of urgency flooded his voice, "You have to promise me! ....I wish I could tell you more, but I am not able. Things are about to change for the worst, and I need to know that I can count on you to be there for me no matter what." Malice turned from Aya. This wasnt as easy as he had hoped it to be.

Ayalan sighed and bit his tongue from saying anything in return, as he felt defeated.
"Fine..fine..I promise Malice...but tell me what's going on then..I held my end of the deal." Aya watched Malice's eyes, and then his movements..sulking, sad, not confident.
Aya was worried now.

Malice was pleased to hear Ayalan submit. He needed to hear it. He turned towards Aya and said "All things are not as the appear". Malice paused to think for a moment. How much information could he give away without jeopardizing his plans? He knew he could trust Aya, but one wrong move could ruin everything he was working for. Malice decided to reveal his position in a metaphor. "There is a beautiful relationship between flowers and bees. The flowers provide nectar for the bees in exchange for dispersal of pollen. There is a third organism in this story. Humans. People slit the throats of flowers and use the carcasses as decoration in their homes. But, where does that leave the bee? The bee must find other flowers that have yet to be subjected to such carnage. Now, on to my story. There once was a bee that enjoyed the company of a specific flower. This flower was like no other. One day, the flower was threatened by a human. The bee simply would not have his most precious flower destroyed, so he made a deal with the human. The bee would create honey for the human in exchange for the salvation of the flower. Poor bee, right? When the flower heard what the bee was doing, she withered in despair. "How could the bee leave me?" she wondered. So, the bee went on making honey for the human and learned his ways. The human came to trust the bee, but the bee had plans for the human. While the human slept, the bee slipped his venom into the humans canteen. The next morning, the human drank the water from the canteen and died, ending the threat to the flower. The bee returned and explained himself to the flower, who was very greatful, and thus the natural cycle between the bee and the flower was restored." Malice was proud of himself for coming up with this ridiculous story off the top of his head.

Ayalan folded his arms, trying to interpret the story as best that he could.
"So, despite you call yourself the bee, you clearly have an enemy of the state who threatens to harm your world." He laughed to himself and nodded, "Well then tell me what's up, and I'll help you as best I can."
He kept it short, really, he only understood..MOST of the story. Albeit not all of it.

Malice's shoulders dropped a little. "Oh, damn...I have never been good with metaphors." Malice sighed, "I might as well tell you what I've been up to." Malice hadnt originally intended to tell anyone his plans, but he knew Aya could be trusted. "Umm...where to begin? ... I'm joining Trucido."

Ayalan's eyes opened a bit as he was taken aback, that was news he certainly never expected, as he took in a half laugh.
"Oh jeez Malice..You almost got me there. I was..I was just..mortified." He looked up, surely not seeing his friend laugh, and he sighed, his arms as well sunk.
"..Serious I suppose then."

"Trucido is amazingly powerful. I dont know how much faith I can put into the Heroes." Malice began pacing back and forth. "If it wasnt for Sonorc, we would not have survived our battle with the Saints. What can we hope to do against the Sumata?" Malice's voice was filled with despair, but seemed almost business-like.

Ayalan sighed with a bit of dismay to his tone.
"...So you're saying that the underdog seems too unlikely to win this battle eh?" He sighed and shook his head, hitting himself near the temple, trying to shake off the feeling of near betrayal and spoke softly.
"....I don't KNOW what we'll do, Malice. We're screwed. We have..hell. Less than a percent chance.. But.."..he sighed. "I'll try to fight regardless. Because even with that, we've got a chance. And I'll take any chance over no chance. You do what you want. But I'm still going to fight the way I always have: Hopeful."
With that, he sighed, and slumped against the wall, his hand on his forehead, as he shook his head...he was still in disbelief.

Malice knelt where he stood to look Aya in the face. "I cannot live on hope alone. My plants need me. Above all else, my loyalty lays with them. Joining Trucido is the only way I can guarantee their continued survival." Malice stood. He couldnt believe the lies coming from his mouth. Cant live on hope? Psh. "I'm sorry."
