The eyeless creature caught her off guard with the quick snatch of her blade, and in her moment of weakness the blade cut her deep. Through more of a twitch reaction than anything her body jerked her epee from his hand, slicing it in the process.
She looked up at him from her knees as she worked to apply a quick healing spell. What in the...? How do I kill something like that? Well, my blade isn't going to be good for anything but defense now. She pondered as her teeth ground back and forth, her body waiting tensely for his next attack as she tried to complete the spell.

The Night laughed as she sliced his hand, as the wound on it's hand healed over. "Foolish woman, you are just too weak to defeat me. You can never defeat me in a sword match. BWAHAHAHAHA!" Night said, then Quaytvol roared in pain. "What?" Night asked as it looked around, and saw that part of it's tail had fell off. Night looked over, and rubbed his forehead. He pulled his hand away, and noticed a dark gray substance coming out of a wound that had not heal. Night said nothing as it raised it sword, and swung down at Milicia.

Night's puzzlement gave her ample time to finish her incantation as a soothing energy washed over her wound and ceased the bleeding. With only time to sigh in relief she rolled off to the side to avoid Night's vertical swipe.
Did I actually do something after all? That creature seemed to react to my previous attack. I wonder... Milicia thought as she rose to her feet, lobbing a few basic elemental projectiles before once more raising her blade to Night.
"It would seem you aren't nearly as impervious as you claim. In fact, I'd say you made a very big mistake showing yourself." Milicia smiled confidently as she waved her hand and chanted the first words of power for a devastating spell.

"Haha, you think that you are strong enough to get an scratch in my head again?" Night said, as he looked at her, "You will die before you get another scratch on me." Then tentacles shot up and wrapped themselves around her wrist and sword's edge. He then stab right at her chest. All the while, another mass was forming about 40 feet away from them.

Milicia's head snapped from side to side in alarm as Quaytvol's body ensnared her. Yet as the false Night drew close it only made her chant faster, finishing the spell with a small gesture of her hand and the cry, "Now awaken! Stone Vanguard!"
Seemingly ripping out from Quaytvol's head a pair of powerful stone-grey arms planted themselves inbetween Milicia and Night. As they pushed against the firm flesh of Quatvol a giant stone golem appearing as an armoured knight appeared, causing Night's attack to slip harmlessly into its form.
"Don't you do anything besides boast? Even the real Night wasn't as annoying as you." Milicia flexed her wrists, trying to conjure a method of escape as the vanguard pulled his blade from the portal he came from. Silent as his namesake he brought it down at Night's skull.

The Night dropped his jaw and raised it's blade to block it, but it was no match for the golem, and it was cut in half revealing an urn. Quaytvol roared in pain as it's back legs fell off, spilling lava as it bleed. It then collapsed as it fell to the ground and died.

The arcane energy began to radiate as flames in her palm when the tentacles released her suddenly. "What the...?" She started to question when Quaytvol began to rumble and shake before falling to a slant. Sliding around to see past her golem she saw only the split remnants of an urn.
A faint cry from below caught her attention, and calling her vanguard to her side she looked over the side of the anti-matter beast's head.
"My Queen! The beast is releasing something from it's legs! It's burning the land!" A soldier cried out as loud as he could. Yet from such height his words were barely audible at all. Milicia looked back to the place where Night and the growth had been, finding some comfort in that both were gone.
"The city still needs my help. Thank you." The flames surrounding her hand dissipated and with a simple gesture she bayed her summon back to where it came. With a quick few steps of a dance she could feel her body move much lighter than before. With her Featherfall spell complete she dove from the head and glided safely towards the ground.
