Musashi was still hesitant, and the Milicia's incredibly calm demeanor only made Musashi more uncomfortable. "This woman is like day and night," he thought, not realizing the irony of his judgment.
"I'm not interested in exploring. I'm interested in training, and that requires no specific place. As for last nights "proposal," my stance hasn't changed, and it's gonna take a lot from you to show me that I'm needed and not some tool for your own purpose."
Musashi realized that he was still indeed speaking to a Queen, but any modicum of respect that he held for those with that title dissipated when talking to this woman.

"Please, young warrior I ask you understand. This is about more than you and I, and this matter is not asked by myself for profit or gain. I speak as the voice of those who do not know what foul fate lays before them. I speak as the hope against all odds, that the world, and its people may be saved. I ask not that this burden be bared by you alone, only that you do what an honorable warrior facing this situation would." There was almost a pleading tone in Milicia's voice. Partially she hoped that it would coerce the stubborn warrior, but just as much because she had hoped to avoid having to reveal the secret that only she and a select few in the castle knew about; her fragmented psyche.
"If it is independance you ask for, then be not my knight but rather our world's champion. If it is respect you ask for, then know that your success will put me in your debt. Will you still ignore our pleas Musashi?"

"I am not your worlds champion, and I don't care about debts or forced respect..."
Musashi paused for a second and took a deep breath.
"But I know that someone can only be summoned if the world is truly in trouble, and I know that I cannot return until balance has been restored. I guess what I wanna say is that I will fix things here, but I'm not sure that I'll be on your side. There can be no black and white without a grey zone in between, and perhaps I shall be that neutral force and deliver justice where it is needed, unless you can show me you're the real deal. "
Musashi stared at Milicia, exercising his focus in hopes he could glean something about her and her variant personality, but he was unsuccessful. All he knew was that this person was not who he spoke to yesterday, the change in mannerisms was too significant, but she looked exactly the same a the woman from last night. Confused by the situation, Musashi saw only one course to solving this conundrum.
"So your not who I talked to last night, are you?"

Milicia felt a wave of joy upon hearing Musashi's acceptance to help, even if it was somewhat tentative. Yet his realization of her deepest secret turned her joy to despair, and she turned away from him trying to hide her expression. She knew that deep inside anyone with enough exposure to both sides would realize the truth, but she had no expected it to be so obvious so soon.
Without turning back to face him she spoke, her voice quivering ever so slightly. "She is I, yet we are the same. What I mean is, we are both queen of this land, but our body is one." Fearing what he might say or do upon hearing this she whirled around to face Musashi. "Please, it is a closely held secret know to very few. Though I'm not ashamed of my other half it is for the best interest of my kingdom that they believe their queen is of one mind and body."

Musashi gazed with a vacant wide-eyed stare as he took in what she had said.
I was thinking a body double or something like that, but damn, that's pretty whack.
Upon the realization that this woman was in fact the Queen and that she was not the same person he had talked to before, his contempt quickly faded and he felt rather ashamed for his brash and sarcastic treatment of the woman before him.
"I gotta apologize your Highness. I mistook you for you other self and directed my contempt at you, well it's still being directed at you, but not you... oh man, this is kinda confusing. What I mean to say is that you, right now, seem like a good person and I'm a bit more willing to trust you."
Musashi would have fully trusted her in his younger days, simply due to his naïvety, but he had grown out of that state of mind some time ago and took everything with a grain of salt, knowing that people were not always as one perceived them to be. Musashi still had to keep his wits about him and wait before he made a definite decision as to whether or not he should ally himself with Milicia.

She sighed a deep sigh of relief to hear Musashi seemed to understand, if only a little of what her condition meant. In a small way she was not too surprised that his demeanor was kinder towards her once he understood that Queen Lunestise and her were different people. It was often the case as people either feared, if not loathed the night side of her psyche.
Milicia had lamented in the past for what felt like an eternity upon the person her other side had become. She had always been the brash self, the side that believed that to act fast and immediately and to try and smooth things over after, if at all was the best course to take. It was this very trait that had lead Milicia to fear her at first, that had lead to the fateful night when she was twenty. It was that which had lead Milicia to cast her to the dungeons each night for all those years. But you can't shut out another person's voice inside your mind forever.
Now she felt a welling saddness for Queen Lunestise. It was that trait that made her strong now, that made Crepusculum Kingdom strong when Milicia's way had left her hopeless. Musashi was just another person who would not trust her, and would not befriend her.
"Please understand that while my other self may be more aggressive, if not tactless, she is still a good person. She sees things as I do, yet her resolutions differ somewhat from mine. I do hope that your first experience will not taint your relationships with her. She comes with the moon, as I come with the sun's rise. We are two halves of the same piece and you'll have to deal with her too."
"However, I have dallied long enough. If you will aid our cause Musashi then I need you to follow me. The generals will be annoyed that they will have to re-present their tactics but I believe it be best you understand what we face." With that Milicia made her way slowly towards the large double doors leading back to the hallway.

"Everyone is effected by their first experience with someone, and that could be for the better or for worse. I hold little respect for your other side, but that could change in time, your Highness. I'll make an effort to try and be cool with your other side, but this is something that we'll both have to do for us to get anywhere. Anyway, lead the way your Majesty."

"Understood Musashi, I ask only for your patience." As Milicia moved down the brightly lit corridors of her castle towards the battle room she tried to sort her feeling out. With Musashi walking by her side, she couldn't help but feel proud for herself that her method of doing things had been what had gained something for the effort against the Sumata for once. Yet unease and worry stirred deeper inside her.
The generals and their men had spotted strange changes in the patterns and activities of the Sumata and their respective kingdoms. Many had visited Vuoto with unusual frequency and they had warned her that the Sumata might be on the move towards something big. They spoke of first strikes and preemptive seiges as not only the best course but perhaps the only course should their spies confirm speculations; the Sumata may be on their way to Earth.
