Alexander blinked, taking in the words that Alex read off to him. He blinked again shortly after that, and then finally sat down in a chair and stared for the longest time before he finally said anything.
"...So we were the ones who screwed this whole thing up. Or rather, an unfortunate circumstance and one evil man turned it all around," there was a sadness in his voice as he spoke slowly, "I can't believe that, though. That's insane, that's crazy, that's..."
His eyebrows raised as he silently added, "...I wonder if we can turn it back..."

Alex looked up at his king, hearing that whispered idea, and suddenly the piece of him that was loyal to a fault, that served his king because it was his duty and no other reason, was dwarfed by a sudden sense of purpose and... pride. Pride that he served someone with such a large heart, and a good mind under all that bored-prince crap he showed the rest of the world.
"Of course we can," he said, and his eyes blazed with the force of the belief behind that statement.

Alexander looked to Alex, a smile coming to his face.
"You really think so? I guess my only real worry is if the queen of Nerezza would even want to have anything to do with us...I always kinda figured she hated me," Alexander said, scratching at his head. In all honesty, he knew that the only way they'd find any of this out would be if they actually tried to get in contact with Nerezza and discussed any of it out.

"Why don't we pay her a visit and find out just where we all stand in this mess. Something tells me Lady Elexa is a lot of things people wouldn't expect, and that she just might help us... especially since this," he tapped the book, "is history from her people's point of view." He grinned. "And you don't have to be afraid of anything we might come across in Nerezza - I'll do my job and make sure you get across safely."

Alexander smiled at Alex.
"You're a real positive guy, you know that? That's why I like you. Well, that and you do some outrageously cool things sometimes like read so I don't have to," he grinned widely, "I suppose...we should probably request a meeting with our 'enemy' then? She and I have never really talked so I don't know how well we'd get along..."

"I know we can get her to agree with us," he said firmly.
And he did know. He didn't know how he did, but he did.

Alexander continued smiling then as he replied, "Well, then I guess we both know what we're doing now...going on a trip to Nerezza. You think Elexa would have info on your Mara person?"

Alex shrugged. "I dunno... she might. Something tells me she might... but I just don't know. And I don't know how I know any of this - things I know about places I'm sure I've never been, even in the haze... what the hell is going on with me?"

Alexander stared at Alex for a long time, trying to seek in his own mind the answers that he was sure Alex wanted. Unfortunately, Alexander Frexton was not a massive library of knowledge.
"..........You're psychic?" he finally squeaked.

Alex blinked.
"Um. I don't think I'm psychic."

Alexander shrugged.
"Who knows. We should probably head out though if we're making our next stop in Nerezza." He tried to give Alex a reassuring smile as he moved to head for the door.
"Everything will be fine, I'm sure. We'll figure it all out, D, no worries!"

He grinned back at his king, nodded, and stepped out of the library.
