Well, hopefully everyone had a great Halloween this year. Mine consisted of work and stealing candy from bowls sitting around in local businesses.
Now onto the most important event of the year aside from my birthday--NaNoWriMo!
Those who don't knowGoogle it you fool it it is the "National Novel Writing Month" where from midnight November 1st until midnight, November 30th your goal is to write a 50,000 word novel. Simple enough.
Anyone participating this year add me as a friend, you loser for starters, and then let's hear what ideas you have for whatever you're writing about this year!
I'm still working on my same idea that I've had since the spring/summer of 2006 - my crazy planet of Zarkavia and the alien race I created for it. Their used-to-be-allies that live on Lidia are at war with Zarkavia and being dead set on winning the Zarkavian military lands on Earth tosteal borrow resources to create/strengthen/fuel their weaponry - while there you obviously need some stupid human to get involved and so our human protagonist, Scott, equipped with his crappy car, crappy job, and fantastic curiousity meets and helps out one of the Zarkavians.
With their custom being something like a 'magical genie wish' where if you help one of their kind they are obligated to do a favour for you of any kind of your choosing--Scott desperately wants to know of their culture.
The story then follows both Scott and Zerenitia (the Zarkavian in question), Scott eagerly taking notes and trying to build his friendship with Zerenitia; Zerenitia struggles to not only learn how to speak and understand English properly but help her squad search, build, and prepare for battle while at the same time keep Scott out of her hair whenever/however she can and keep him from getting his ass kicked by her superiors - all of which look down on Scott (as Zarkavians find everything that is smaller than them to be 'weak' and 'insignificant') but also on Zerenitia for 'allowing herself to fall under this circumstance'.
Blahblahblah it's more or less the typical "SOMEHOW WE'LL BECOME FRIENDS" story. Nothing special. All started from a grade 12 Social Studies assignment that I still have the assignment sheet for. My teacher refused to give anything of mine back because he loved it so much and encouraged it to become a comicbook of sorts. Been working on it ever since! |D;
WHAT'S EVERYONE ELSE DOING?
