~In the streets of Los Angeles~
It had been a year since Faeylinn had returned to Earth, and not a day passed yet where her mind didn't go back to Allorum. So much had changed since that day when she'd gone to work and met Mark Angelus Fri and Profeta, followed them to Allorum. And then traveling through the Crepusculum Kingdom, to Nerrezza, where she met Vaan and Shiluya. At least that was one thing that hadn't changed much- Shiluya had followed her to Earth, even though Faey had expressly told her not to. The small shadowy creature was curled around her arm, barely hidden by the sleeve of her t-shirt.
Since her return to her home planet she'd tried dating one or two other guys, but she couldn't bring herself to commit to a relationship. She still missed Vaan so much, and wondered if he'd moved on... She shook her head, No use torturing yourself over it, Faey.
Walking around now she passed the store she'd been working at at the time, where she'd seen magic worked for the first time. The coffee shop that Profeta had predicted would close down was now a family-run grocery store. Walking farther down the street, she paused outside another coffee shop, then walked inside and sat down at a table in the back.
This is where they told me about Allorum... Right here, over a year ago... She ordered a hot chocolate and sat there for a while, remembering the friends she'd made- Riliath and Gensayce, Elexa, Ludro, Cassandra, Shiluya... Vaan. Her thoughts continued going back to him.
Shiluya, who'd been quiet before, as if sensing Faey's melancholy mood, now spoke up. "So this is where you first went to Allorum Faey?"
"No," she responded, "It was down the street. Come on, I'll show you." She got up, and walked out of the shop, headed for the place where the portal had been.
