((LOL Seigmand and Alexander though I'm sure if anyone else really wanted to join then we could kinda work something out if you PM one of us? )) So what could have been an otherwise peaceful day was destroyed by sudden appearance of Santo-Luce's king, Alexander. I say 'destroyed' as the young blond man felt it appropriate to walk right in and head straight for...wherever Seigmand was (really, where was he? Probably the study; the guy read books a lot, right?). It probably would have been better for him to ask for directions instead, or rather waited to see if the Roccia king would even be able to meet with him but that wasn't Alexander's style...if he firmly believed you were best friends with him, anyway. Of course when met with shouts of, "Hey! You can't just walk in there!" he responded, quite cheerily, "It's okay! I'm his friend!" and then pushed to see how long it would take for him to get arrestedAlexander knew how to make an appearance, that was for sure.

Sitting knees crossed in the centre of towers of books and bundles of scrolls sat the solemn figure of Seigmand Dezmar. His hands moved from page to page of a particularly large book, his eyes hunting the pages eagerly for something only he knew. Scowling at last he tossed the book to a pile behind him with an annoyed grunt. "Still nothing." He cursed as he went to reach for the next on a pile when all of a sudden he heard a voice that stuck out in his mind.
"What? Why would he be...?" His eyes looked quickly from the door to his pile of books and with almost dread in his eyes he darted to his feet and moved to the doors. His hands grasped the heavy rungs and pulled the door open just as Alex came around the corner.
Seemingly stunned for a moment Seigmand stood just watching Alex before he managed to get out, "Ah, Alex. Good to see you." A toothless smile appeared on his face as he waved to the fellow ruler.

The moment Alexander saw Seigmand the entirety of his face brightened even more and he suddenly blurted, "Hey, Seigmand! What's hanging?!"
Blinking then he suddenly realized he said something off. That greeting almost didn't seem right, though he swore he remembered it exactly as Zeke had taught him. Whatever.

Seigmand raised an eyebrow at the expression he had never heard before. "What's...hanging? Well, I suppose were I to have a chandelier in my study that would-what does that have to do with anything?" He interrupted himself realizing his response was growing even sillier than the original question.
"Alex did you, come here for any reason in particular? Usually when the Watchers have need of me they make due with a messenger." Seigmand's eyes wandered back to the pile of literature he had yet to go through, his work clearly on the front of his mind at the moment.

Alexander grinned as he answered, "On Earth, that is apparently how they say 'hello' and 'how is your day?' I thought it was neat."
He practically skipped forth towards the older man as he continued, "As for why I'm here, I'd really would rather talk in person than send a messenger. At least with you, ya know? I figured I'd drop by and see how you're doing, how's the wife and kids, when are you going to stop reading so many boring books that make you a cranky old man--you know, that kind of stuff."
He hadn't actually realized that Seigmand had been reading, though he had already figured it. The guy was a nerd, afterall. What he hadn't realized was just how he didn't really answer Seigmand's question.

"What a weird thing to say." Seigmand looked off at nothing as he tried to even start to understand what hanging had to do with a person's day on Earth. Leaving himself in that state for only a moment he snapped his attention back to Alex.
"And what do you mean wife and kids?" He gave a bewildered look to Alex for a moment before a smile crept on his lips. "Ha, cute Alex. Yet seeing as how you are currently devoid of either, and you've been lugging that big old book with you for some time with you, I'd say you're not in much of a position to talk."
"Anyways, I don't suppose there is some reason besides this that you've come is there?" Seigmand's fingers tapped on his arms impatiently as he stood inside the open doorway.

Alexander shrugged and replied smugly, "I wouldn't say that entirely, Seigmand man. I've got a good start in this game with a fantastic significant other--he doesn't kiss as well as you do but I guess that's something that's just come to you with age and experience. Granted if you wait any longer at your age you won't have much left to choose from for a spouse, you'll be too old."
At this he couldn't help but cackle almost mischievously. It was after he had his good laugh that he crossed his arms and gave a very disapproving look as he explained his 'reason' for showing up and pestering the older man.
"Really, I'm here avoiding someone and I figured they wouldn't have the audacity to follow me all the way out here. You know those kinds of people who seem to really like you--you have no clue why, but they do--and they don't seem to just leave you alone? It's like they have to be your best friend or whatever and they show up usually unexpectedly and annoy the crap out of you, especially when you're trying to get some important stuff done? Someone like that. You know what I mean?"

Seigmand stroked his chin with interest. "Oh, so you finally managed to use that supposed charm of yours to get a gir...did you say he?" Seigmand seemed taken aback by the key word in Alex's boast. Suddenly the memory of the dance contest on Earth came to his mind and without sound he mouthed something behind his hand.
What have you done Seigmand?
Searching his memories for a time he seemed dazed to all but the general gist of Alex's true purpose for being in Roccia. Trying his best to put the image of the two of them kissing out of his head he listened while keeping his eyes lingering away from the young king's lips.
"Ah...yes Alex. I'm sad to say I know all too well that feeling. Well, if you'd like you're free to roam the city, see the sights, watch a battle or two while you're at it. Really whatever you'd like to do in the city. You are of course always welcome in Silicis City." Seigmand said as he slowly backed himself up into his study as his hand reached stealthily up to the door frame.

Alexander exploded with excitement (and hilarious dramatic poses) then as his mouth started running a mile a minute.
"Yeah! We try to keep it all on the low side and all but I don't mind telling you because I know you won't go around telling the whole world but aw Seigmand, you've gotta meet him he's so great his name is Zeke and he's got the most beautiful green eyes and he can draw and paint things super amazing-like, he makes it look so easy too you've gotta see his paintings and he's so funny and and and--OH, he's absolutely adorable 'cause he gets weird ideas and teaches me weird sayings because he's from Earth and on Earth they think that castles have bookshelves that flip but that's not normal at all but it's so funny and cute when he does stuff like that though he's not as much anymore because he's gotten a little more used to Allorum and stuff--oh oh oh and you have to see this guy eat it's crazy adorable he just shovels away because I guess the food on Earth is really bad too I feel so bad for him but it's okay 'cause I look after him now and he's always so happy and he's got this little beard that he's just letting it grow out and I mean it's not so bad or anything it's actually really cute and fuzzy and it tickles when he cuddles and I like it but I'm afraid he's gonna let it grow out too long and that he'll start housing birds in it but I can't joke around with him that much about it because he gets lippy but it's funny and he makes me laugh and it's fun to cuddle up with him and just talk about stuff for hours on end and he gives the greatest hugs in the world he's strong and stuff and makes me feel safe which I know is weird because I'm the king and all and I'm supposed to be the one looking after everyone but it's kinda nice to have someone you can turn to yourself ya know? And he's just...ahh, I'm just really happy to have him, he's wonderful..."
And he totally kept going on and on until he realized Seigmand was backing into his study; he barely heard Seigmand's invitation to enjoy the city even. Almost immediately Alexander dropped everything and followed Seigmand and inviting himself right into the study with him.
"Well wait, actually, I was kinda hoping we'd just hang out together instead, ya know? It'll be great, we'll just share stories and if you want we'll read boring books together so it's not like you have to worry about entertaining me or anything!" Alexander spat out, now just really ecstatic.

Seigmand's eyes nearly bugged out of his skull when Alex walked into the study. Before the young man could even get close to his towers of books Seigmand's hand wrapped tightly around his arm and started to pull him out into the hallway.
"You know on the other hand I've been studying for far far too long today. I think perhaps we should go out and hang out together. What do you say Alex? You said it yourself, my study would really just bore you in the end." Not that Seigmand was really giving Alex a choice as he stopped even the slightest resistance by out-muscling the younger king. Getting past the door frame Seigmand stomped a foot and used his free hand to conjure the stone floor to close the door and seal the hinges in place.
With a brief sigh of relief he turned to Alex with a refreshed smile and released his firm grip on him in favour of a more nurturing pat on the back towards the keep's entrance. "Well, he sounds like a, ahem, charming boy Alex. It is good to see you happy all the same. So what would you like to do in my city? I do suppose the arena would be a bit too coarse for your tastes..." He rubbed his chin in thought as they moved out into the city's open streets.

"But--"
Alexander couldn't really argue his way into seeing (and possibly making fun of) what kind of things Seigmand read in his spare time. Having no choice he was lead out of the study, which was for the better as he probably would have found a way to destroy something. Or give Seigmand grey hair. Then there'd be no chance of him ever meeting a woman.
He was still beaming however as they made to leave the keep, saying, "I don't really understand what's so entertaining about watching people fight monsters and die anyway. If you can give me a good reason why I'd be willing to listen to it. This place is huge though, what kind of sights are there to see? Neat canyons and stuff to check out or something? I've got the beach to go to at home, I take Zeke along with me and we'll easily spend half of the day out there if we can--you should come visit, we'll all go out there."

"I wouldn't be able to offer you one, as I find no enjoyment in the arena myself. It was a pittance I gave my father, something to keep him from meddling with the finer affairs of my rulership. He adores the bloodshed and the desperate struggle that each man gives when they fight for their lives. He says it's what shows a person's true colours. I personally think it's senseless." There was a sense of indifference as Seigmand spoke of his father. It was a subject he had almost never discussed with anyone. Not because he was uncomfortable with it of course, but because no one had ever asked about it.
"Still, if you don't mind a bit of travel we could go and see the Orsis Quarry. The tunnels are dull, but if you've never seen our miners work I assure you its something worth seeing. Otherwise we have some ruins within the city that are worth seeing. Relics from several tribe wars back. As you are my guest I suppose it's only right you choose."

"It is senseless, gross on top of that. Fathers have weird tastes, I think. My dad was the opposite in that he liked really boring political plays. And I don't mean those ones where the protagonist has to stop an oncoming war or anything, I mean those really boring ones where they all just stand around for hours of palaver and by the end Dad would ask, 'So, what did you learn?' and I'd say, 'I learned another method to keep my eyelids from drooping'," Alexander blathered on in his own little rant.
He smiled up at Seigmand soon after as he said, "I've never been in a quarry before, is it big? I wouldn't mind seeing that if you're not bothered by it."

"It's a short enough trip, with the right method of transportation." He flashed a grin to Alex as they moved past the bustling parts of the city and made their way towards the gates. "The Orsis Quarry is the nearest to the city, and that's not by coincidence. The veins in it run deep, going so far as to travel below Silicis City. It's been the richest quarry our Geomancers have ever found in Roccia."
As they exited the city walls out into the hot dry expanse of the Roccian plains Seigmand rolled up his sleeves and sat into his normal fighting stance. "You'll want to get near me Alex. I take it you have no issue with holding another man after all?" The ground beneath him began to swell slowly, showing the initial signs of his art beginning to form.

Alexander laughed aloud as he said, "Sounds interesting enough of a trip, though when you put it like that I start to wonder if you're trying to impress me in order to steal me away from the man I left at home."
Regardless, Alexander did as Seigmand said though unable to keep himself from cracking jokes the whole time about "oh gee, Seigmand, your muscles sure are big and strong~!" and such similar ones otherwise.
