"And such a statement is true for the most part." Kaku answered Ryhart. "However, with my kind, our animalistic temperments run deep, and reactions vary with the vibes we pick up from certain people."
Kaku raised an eyebrow at yet another newcomer, but bowed his head slightly to show that he wasn't opposed to him. "I'm not at all human, but I assure you, I don't plan to overthrow anyone." From the way his interactions had been going already, Kaku had a feeling his words might not be taken seriously, but he threw the statement out there regardless.
He bowed slightly at Brea. "Kaku Rokkakyu." He stated his name. "Its a pleasure I'm sure." He added, his british tone remained calm as usual. "More than a thousand years you say? How interesting. A thousand years, and I'm afraid I'd be at the end of my lifespan. I'm certainly not looking to make any enemies, but I'm afraid it takes more than just a simple introduction to become my friend." Kaku had been backstabbed many times throughout his years, and his trust was not something easily earned.

"I understand completley" Brea said nodding slightly at Kaku "It is very easy for us to originally trust only to have those we call our friends reveal their true colours" He himself had experienced the pain of having a friend betray him "As for my age it is in a way not something that I am proud of, I cannot explain to you why I have lived this long but let me say this, it doesn't feel like a thousand years, their are gaps in my life that I could not fill in for you"
He rubbed his chin and sniffed "But in those years I do remember, I can't recall ever meeting an anthormorphic creature such as yourself!" He raised an eyebrow "You have the air of a mage around you if my talent to judge people has not failed me..?"

Ryhart looked at Brea and said "It takes a lot for me to trust someone..... I guess it's just a paranoia brought on by my trade." He began to look around cautiously, It's starting to get crowded here.... In a hushed tone, Ryhart said "You're growing quite the crowd 'round here. Maybe you should at least deactivate the portal?"

Kaku blinked. He was almost certain he'd already shut the portal when Ryhart tried to run through it, but perhaps it was still visable. A fast spell soon took care to deactivate it and he sighed. "I suppose I'll have to attempt it again later...there goes my way home."
Kaku was finding himself curious about the lifespan of Brea. What sort of being was he that he could live for so long and still retain a youthful look? His kind lived for merely a thousand years before their lifespans reached the end....and if a Mageian did reach that age, they certainly wouldn't look nearly as youthful.
He chuckled a little at Brea's comment. "I've been getting that a lot here in Allorum. If it makes you feel any better, I'd rarely seen a human before my travels here." He nodded at his last comment. "You'd be correct in assuming so. I'm a wizard rather. A Master Wizard." It was a position Kaku was rather proud of, as he'd been the youngest Mageian to achieve such a status.

"It appears we hold that in common!" Brea said surprised before bowing slightly "I myself am a master swordsman as I mentioned earlier" he announced as the portal closed before his eyes and he couldn't help but wonder what it must be like to wield such power, that was the main problem with meleƩ combat, it was limited to history and the teachings of those before you but with magic the only limit was the users imagination! "I like you Kaku" he stated "You are not one to tell a lie which is a rare quality nowadays it seems"

Ryhart nodded his head, "I too like you Kaku, as for you sir..." Ryhart turned to face him. "I feel a strange familiarity about you... Like I've met you before... Either way, you seem like a man to be trusted..." He held out his hand, "I'm Marcus Ryhart, A mercenary... If you can ignore the bloody trade, I'm a rather good guy..."

"My clan were known as a group of sadistic raping murderers" he replied cheerfully taking and shaking Ryhart's hand "So I don't think I need worry on your trade it is mine we should fear" he added on the end winking before releasing the mercenary's hand "Of course we weren't sadistic raping murderers we just stood up against Duo like another group, they were a little more charismatic than us, and didn't kidnap their members" He tapped his chin clearly umming and ahhing over something "They were called 'The Saints' or something along those lines

Ryhart's face went pale at the mention of The Saints. "The Saints... I fought them on few occasions... It wasn't a pleasant experience... Ryhart unhinged the top left of his breast plate and allowed it to sway, then he pulled the same corner of his shirt down revealing a large scar going from one corner of shoulder inwards 3 inches. "I didn't even see who did it... It was a hectic fight. I should've lost my arm, but it's still there" He smiled and the color returned to his face. "1000 years? What allowed you your extended life?"

Kaku chuckled a bit at both of their comments. "Well you two seem like fine gentlemen yourselves." He commented, folding his arms.
He listened politely to Ryhart and Brea's conversation. He hadn't the slightest idea who the Saints were, but judging by Ryhart's reaction, they were a powerful bunch not to be reckoned with.
He wasn't sure if Ryhart was addressing the last question to himself or to Brea, but he assumed it was brea so he waited for an answer, also very curious as to what might allow him such a long lifespan.

"In all honesty? I have no idea" He said scratching the back of his neck "I've been told a hell of a lot of possible excuses for it, one old wise man said it's because I have unfinished business, another said it's a punishment by the gods for what 'my clan did' and some just say I eat a healthy diet!" The last one was obviously a joke but all the same who knows? "As for the Saints, I wouldn't be too harsh on them, just like the Itan-Sha they followed their leader fanatically, we should all consider ourselves lucky that some of their stronger members managed to realise their faults" he shrugged before turning to Kaku "But I would have to ask the same for you, how is it that Anthromorphs live so long also?"

Kaku was not finding this answer to be unsatisfactory, but he accepted it regardless. After all, if Brea didn't know, there was obviously dirty work afoot from another party. Thinking about this only made him want to research the matter further. That would wait until another time though.
He chuckled a bit at Brea's inquiry and adjusted his glasses in the way he always did. "Not all Anthropomorphic beings live to be 1000 years." He explained. "In fact, most Anthropomorphic creatures that don't originate from Mageia seldom live past 90." He continued. "I can't recall if I've mentioned it already, so do forgive me if I'm repeating myself. My family and I come from a Realm known as Mageia. This realm revolves around the usage of magic, and Magic is essentially what keeps us alive in a sense. Because of this, our aging process has slowed, which allows us to live for roughly a thousand years."
Kaku smirked a little. "In fact, it's rather hard to tell how old a Mageian is simply by looking. My Eldest cousin Caramel for example. She's 85, yet if you saw her, you'd believe she was no older than 16."

"I see..." Brea said rubbing his chin slightly "Well I guess that's good enough for me, I've heard alot about Maegia in my travels actually" he said with a small smile "Obviously it was very unstable information, it's hard to learn about a country that has few if not any humans in it from a human library, all I managed to dig up was the extensive magical use" He had spent most of his life looking for possible excuses for his lack of ageing which had led him to look into a number of magics and other worlds.
"Still we have other things afoot" he nodded at Kaku "May I ask what the reason for you opening such a large scale portal in such a densely inhabited area was?" he raised an eyebrow with his arms held comfortably at his sides, all of his body language pointed to him being relaxed and friendly, it all pointed to this anyway, any great tactician always tries to point the finger at someone else.

"Have you?" Kaku asked curiously. "WHo from might I ask? It's a place not many people know exist until they meet a Mageian." He explained. "And I find it quite surprising you've found anything on it in a mortal library." He chuckled. "There is not much for a human to write about, as unless someone FROM Mageia opens a portal for you, there is no possible way in."
"Speaking of which..." He said, cleaning his glasses. "Is precisely what I was doing with that portal. Trying to get back to my homeland." He sighed. "My cousins and I have been "stuck" in Allorum for quite some time, and I've been doing extensive research, and travelled these vast lands so that I could at last create a portal that would lead us home."
"I think I have managed to do such a thing." He smirked. "You see, it is a sad limitation of our kind. We cannot create a portal unless we know exactly where we are going and where our exact location is. Since I had no idea where we were, the portals would not work previous to this."

Ryhart nodded in acceptance and broke the awkward silence. "So are you saying that you can't get back for a while now? Or do you have to open the portal back up in this exact same place?" He crossed his arms and put more weight on one leg behind him, relaxing himself a little bit. No longer feeling any need to be vigilant.

Kaku smirked slightly. "I can open the portal from the areas of Allorum I'm familiar with. However, this seemed like a good spot to harness energy." He paused. "But yes, I suppose what you're saying is true. I havn't been familiar enough with Allorum to open a portal until now."
