He smiled down at her, ruffling her hair.
"I didn't get the chance," he said, losing his smile. "He's grown incredibly strong... it was all I could do to hold him off by myself." He smiled agian. "Don't worry, though. I'll get 'im! Without killing him. We'll fix him up, you and me, 'kay, Sayara?"

"Alright, I know we ca-" Sayara said, before a chill hit her very soul. She looked over the group, and saw a massive pillar of dark energy, it was even blacker than the night sky. Then a monster carrying a scythe, walked into everyone view, as it walked towards Spazio.  The beast walked towards the group, and gave them an ungodly roar, as it came even closer to them. |

Vash's eyes widened in horror as he took in the twisted, corrupted form before him. He took a step back, drew his gun with one hand and unslung his cross with the other.
"What is that thing?" Kouichi asked him, steping back, the reek of corrupted darkness reaching his sixth sense.
Vash narrowed his eyes into a glare at the monster, feeling the twisted parody of Lunar energy emanating from it.
"That thing... that is what is left of Volkmar Gamlxltoe." He aimed his gun, pointed directly at the monster before him. "Let's just hope that there is enough of him inside it to return him to his senses."

"Volk!" Tidus yelled, once Vash revealed what he could feel he ran in front of Sayara and Yuna. Brotherhood and Cadalblog ready.
"Guys, we have this, go on ahead!"
Andy wanted to yell and protest but he remembered his promise and reluctantly nodded, the group moving around them as they faced down their friend.
"....Damn you Volk...hang on, I'll set you free!"

Yuna stepped forward beside Tidus, standing in front of Sayara and drawing her guns, leveling them at the monstrous thing that had been her friend. She shivered, but stood firm.
Vash, a litle in front of Tidus, looked back at them.
"Are you two... sure, you want to do this?" he asked, concern filling his voice. "He's incredibly powerful... there's nothing guaranteeing that you'll survive this."
Yuna looked up at him, determination showing. "I made a promise to Tidus. I'm not going to run away!"

Volk just looked as Tidus stood in his path. He roared as he swung his scythe, making what look like a massive jaw coming straight towards them, destroying the ground beneath it. He just continued in his path not caring who was in his way.

Vash nodded; as the monster swung, he leaped forward, dropping the bindings from his cross as he brought it up in front of him, leaping into the path of the scythe and taking the blow...

Once again, I felt the bindings drop away and my wings return to me, and I was assaulted afresh with the corruption of the thing Volkmar had become. I didn't have time to worry about explaining my sudden surge of power or the release of Lunar energy that exploded outward from my cross and I to Tidus and Yuna; I simply reacted.
There was no way I would win this fight with a partial release; I could only hope Sayara stayed behind me as I lashed out, shoving the scythe back and sending a volley of shots enhanced with energy at Volkmar.
"Stay on your guard!" I yelled to Tidus.

"Whoa!" Enizo yelled in shock as the altered form of Volkmar popped up, he was getting ready for a fight when Tidus said he would handle it. This seemed like something he had to handle, no one else. "Alright... good luck!" Enizo nodded, while following the rest of the group.
He took one more glance back at Volkmar and frowned, power had driven a good man off the edge. If he was lucky his friends might be able to pull him out of it... if not. Well...

Yuna stepped back, eyes wide at the change in Vash and the monster's furious assault, but she charged forward, instinctively maneuvering to the side and sending a volley of shots towards Volkmar.

Volkmar raised his arm, as the bullets hit him, but none of them appeared to have done any real damaged to him. He then swung his scythe at the group, making another arc, but it missed. When it crashed into the building, it made a moderate size explosion. He then charged again at the group, swinging his weapon violently.
Sayara had ran and hid in an abandon building, and tried to figure out where to go. She knew that they were going to be in trouble. She had to find someone else to help them fight them. She looked over at the 3 fighting Volk, and whispered, "Please don't kill them Volk..."

I glared at Volk, cross at my side, gun out in front of me. I could hear, feel, Sayara's plea, and I felt anger roil up within me.
"You know," I told him, "you're not much of a man, are you? Makin' a little girl cry."
I felt the wisps called by my power swirl around me. "She had faith in you," I yelled, "and sometimes, it seemed like she was the only one who did! And you let this happen to you?!"
THe energy reached potential.
"Even for a human being, you're pathetic!" I shouted, forgetting myself for a moment as I let the blast of magic fly towards its victim, and I leaped forward in its wake, swinging my cross at the monster in front of me as the blast of Lunar and Spirit crashed into him.

As the main group ran ahead they found themselves in a spot of trouble, familiar monsters of the Shade's creation lunged out of the ruins. Andy reacted, slicing down the ones that approached them.
"Oh great, figures!" he yelled as more came at them, Eli was about to fight to when he saw something...a light in the distance, like a quick flash, looking away from the group he followed it as the others were distracted with fighting.

Volkmar roared as 2 mighty forces slammed into him. When the dust died down, Volkmar zoomed out toward Vash, and swung his scythe with an even greater strength than he had before, right at Vash's chest.
Sayara still thinking on what to do then she looked up to the night sky, and it snapped. "Thats it!" She said as she ran outside. "Vash, Tidus, Yunnie! Please distract him longer, I think I know someone that can help!" She said as she tried to run away to find the best spot to get a hold of them.

"Volk!" Tidus yelled out, running to him and flipping over him and Vash. When he landed behind him he launched into a series of flips, his Spiral Cut, and slammed his blade down at the monster.

Eli made his way to the spot where the light flashed, it was there he found something...it must have been the famed Birth Crater. Where legend says it's where the Ketulunaians came to Allorum. It would be the perfect spot for the Sky Hook...
Standing at the edge of the crater though was the woman, Claire, overlooking the crater.
"Claire!" Eli called out.
