He stopped, ded in his tracks, his head snapping up to look Amphion in the eyes with a speed and intensity astonishing in this man. Shock, suspicion, and worry crossed his face in turn, each taking an instant, before the moment passed and he shrugged.
"I dunno. A little this and that... maybe you're just sensing my terrible luck, hahah!" He laughed, but it sounded fake, as if the over-cherful facade had crackexd just slightly. He pulled some sandwiches out of his pack. "Ah, here they are! Want one? They're not very filling, but they're great for just a little ways!"

Amphion may have been blind, but he didn't need to see to know that his question caught Vash off guard.
He took the sandwich and thanked him, taking a bite of it before speaking once more, "I'm a Sage, don't take any offense in my question... it's just what I do, I analyze everything around me."
He swallowed a bite of the sandwich, the aching feeling in his stomach beginning to go away, "You clearly have an incredible abilities."

"So do you," Vash pointed out, and some of that clueless cheerfulness in his voice was gone. "Forgive me if I don't talk much about myself; some things... are better if they remain secrets." He took a bite of his own sandwich.

Amphion nodded, he stomach finally feeling satisfied, "I wish I could have things to talk about, I've completely forgotten who I am... where I came from, it's all gone."

He looked at Amphion curiously. "Really? That sounds pretty tough. Can't imagine what it would be like not to remember anything."

"It's not a nice feeling, that's for sure." Amphion said, "Which is why I must find out who I am, and where I came from."

He nodded. "I guess I understand." His tone said he only understood intellectually; in his heart, he still wondered what it was like, not remembering. Not having to remember all the tragedy, all the pain of his overlong life.
Then again, without memories, he wouldn't remember the happiness, either. Oh well.

Amphion was blind, but he could still see that Vash had gone through a lot in his life, seen things he probably wishes to forget.
"Everything that you have ever seen or done makes you who you are, right?" He questioned, "To take away even a small moment in your life could completely change who you are. I have no idea who I was, and maybe it's better I never find out... but I want to know who I was."
He shook his head, "You're a good guy, whatever happened in your life must've shaped who you are, right?"

He smiled. "Yeah, you're right. And even with aaaaaall the sad stuff in the world, nothing can take away the good memories!" He did a dramatic finger point. "SO, then, we must help you find your own lost path!" He made a silly 'serious' face.

He blinked, "Um... excuse me?" He still didn't understand why this man was so willing to put his life aside to help him, yeah he got the 'justice and love stuff', but there had to be another reason, right?
...Of course, he could be wrong.

He turned to the man, raised an eyebrow.
"What?" he asked. "Worried about a lone stranger, offering to help a man he's never met?" He chuckled, turning away, running one hand through the locks of hair that had escaped his severely spiked hairstyle, as he waggled a finger at Amphion with the other. "Ah-ah-ah. If I'd refused to help you, I wouldn't be much of a Knight, now would I?" He glanced at Amphion from the side, smirking. "That's the way it works, you know!"

"Yes... if that's so, what are you a knight of?" He questioned, "What king or queen do you serve?" Amphion was someone who questioned everything, even if it was something good. He wanted answers, always searching for answers.

He grinned, winking playfully. "I'm a knight of love and peace! Justice and prosperity! A wandering warrior, fighting a battle against oppression and violence in a merciless world!"
He raised his arms to the sky. "May the heavens take pity on such a man, whose work is never done! Who may never settle down to an easy life, but is forever to walk the road he has chosen for himself!"

"I see..." Amphion blinked, he should've expected answer like that, "Well then, I appreciate it. I've met people in the past, but no one ever offered anything else but an apology for my memories. So I thank you."

He chuckled. "No problem. Like I said, it wouldn't make me a very good Knight if I didn't offer to help."
He paused, then sighed.
"I suppose I owe you at least a little bit of honesty. I am a knight, but not one recognized by any kind of official order, or bound to any king here on Allorum." He pointed to the sky. "I'm Lunatopian; I don't expect you to believe me, but I'm a Lunar Knight. First and foremost, I draw my power from the Ghost Moon of Guasto - and beyond that, I serve Ketu and Luna, goddesses of my ancestors."
