Aya smirked at his standing still in the air as he nodded...then his hands swiped in front of him, and they came in a star shaped pattern, closing in on Vash, but Aya would feign his aim a bit, to allow him room to move, the strings were in fact not there- he was focused on five objects, using his powers to move them into radial spinning star swipes.
As he did this though, came his words, "I see, survival then..will you do anything to allow yourselves into our world? Some people are still...fearful."
He swiped again and again, these chakram were faster than most weapons- "I will say that if you are their guidance..I cannot disagree with your desire."

The strings were illusions, I realized, halfway through my routine of dodging to exacly where it seemed he wanted me to go. He was controlling them with his mind - the movements were entirely for show.
Once I got the pattern, it was a simple matter - dodge-dodge-block, return fire.
"I'm not meant to be a leader," I said, "but someone had to take initiative. There's too fw of us left - I'm the only one who remembers and keeps the old traditions."

Ayalan narrowed his eyes and swiped his hands with a twirl, sending his hands forward, the chakrams went for Vash and around him before he pulled out his glass sword, Vash's counter attack hit it, cracking a line down the blade as Aya nodded approvingly...
"Sounds like we are in the same boat then.." Aya's body came toward Vash- his willpower had increased greatly as he pointed the sword out, "I respect and approve of your lunar order as a known member of the Chalybian society. You can expect our support; as soon as you deal with this."
He pulled his hands back, and the chakrams were on a backpedal toward Vash again.

I grinned, flipped backwards in the air, and called on the energy I'd been saving. My shield shimmered into existence around me, deflecting the massive onslaught; then I pulled all of the energy from it, directing it into a massive counterburst that headed straight for Aya.

Aya quickly found his chakrams tossed aside as he smirked, and shifted his stance, watching the onslaught come at him, shrapnel and all from his weapons, before the strike hit and the smoke surrounded his presence.
Albeit, as it cleared, all that Vash could see was Aya's glass sword shattered, hitting the ground, while Aya's yellow eyes peered over Vash's shoulder, and he put one hand on that very shoulder.
"I hope you are ready for a long battle to bring your order to the days it used to live in.."
He slowly pulled his hand away- he considered this fight a draw for now; anymore fighting and it would have gotten serious from both sides.

I put my wings away, feeling the effects of using too much energy in too short a time. I hadn't wanted to go so far, but I'd gotten caught up in the battle. I was glad I hadn't actually hurt Ayalan.
"No," I told him. "I'm ready for a long battle to bring our Order to days we have never lived in."
