I looked up at him, nodded.
"You felt what happened back there; that was with my limiters," I replied quietly. "I don't lose control often; what Shin said..."
I shook my head.
"....it would be a very, very, very good idea if Shin's father and I never met," I finished.

"I agree with you on that point..." Kurai said with a nod, folding his book closed and slipping it back in with the rest of his belongings and brushing off his legs as if they were coated in dust.
"He's friends with Rin, and thanks to 'Guo's wonderful ability of draining any excess mana in the air, he should prevent another incident like what happened this week. All-in-all, if we can get away from Chalybs and move onwards to Roccia, all should be good."

I nodded. "We'll need to monitor how much energy he builds... and especially how rapidly he builds it. I may need to sta away from him for a while..." I frowned. "He's almost more of a magnet than 'Guo is, in some ways, because of his instability..."

Kurai gave a firm nod at Vash's suggestion of avoiding Shin for a while, it wouldn't help to have incidents like what happened earlier become more likely than they already are.
"I can handle teaching our new students for now, I'll teach them that which we've already started, give you some reports on their progress. You can oversee the odd session here and there where things aren't too physical, we should maybe look into having 'Guo further harness his abilities, he'll become a true asset to Kato in time. Rin knows a surprising amount already about what she can do, although her lunar energies aren't as proficient as we've seen with 'Guo and Shin... Perhaps we should work on that with her, and as for Shin..? Basic control, we need to drill that in now."
Kurai had gone into full analytic mode and was sort of running off on a tangent. When it comes to teaching, he was pretty passionate and had a high success rate in training royal guards.

I nodded.
"There's a reason why Shin hasn't lost it more often," I pointed out. "Find out his techniques - the basics of suppression and control are the same, just different applications. It seems to me that he must also be bleeding it off somehow... find those things, and you'll find the way to set him back on the right track."
I shok my head, then.
"He did something strange, too - did you notice when he jumped up suddenly, in the middle of the conversation? He started getting belligerent about it after that." I sighed. "I'm worried that there's some sort of... trauma, preventing him from exploring his powers more freely."

"I noticed it also, it's not completely unfamiliar, he's a pyromancer at heart so he's bound to have had some bad instances during childhood... Did you see the burn scars over his eye? Those were definitely real, not part of his birthmark, I'm guessing that he lost control when he was younger... The way he asked if anyone had died... The way he called at Rin when he lost it somewhat... I think he overflowed with energy when he was younger and someone died because of it..."
He shrugged. "Just a theory. I'll go gather the others, we should get moving."
Walking back into the room he knocked on the door, more to garner everyone's attention if anything.
"We're leaving for Roccia now on the boat that Aya has graciously offered." He motioned to the tickets beside Rin. "So gather what you need and do it quickly, we want to be gone before anyone undesirable realizes that we're here..." He looked at the unlikely trio in front of him and sighed, before adding on the end.
"Although it's probably too late for that..."
