The Senators looked at each other and one by one they shook their heads.
"I've pledged my service to the Republic, not the Empire," Kome said, "I assure you that much, Mr. President."
"I too." A Senator from Central Unda said, standing from his chair, one after another followed suit.
"We've pledged service to the people of the Republic of Unda." A Eastern Senator assured, "That will not change."
The Marines looked between them and back at Alexander, "Mr. President. This is high treason and assassination... what will you do with Senator Thyros?"
Thyros remained silent, his eyes in a deep glare at Alexander. Such rage, if it wasn't for the Marines he'd probably try to tear Alexander apart.

Alexander looked each Senator in the eye as they gave their answer with a polite nod in their direction.
Now here was presented a situation that Alexander had dealt with before. The last time he had a criminal charged with treason of this level was the same one who had attempted assassination on Alexander himself. For a moment it hurt for him to realize that he was lucky to avoid it but Benjamin was not.
Alexander hated this decision. This was something that wasn't easy to make and had to be decided on many factors completely detached of all emotions, if he were to choose in a way that would ensure success for the growing, struggling government of Unda.
He finally made eye contact with Thyros, noting every twitch his eyes made. It was unsettling to say that even Albert Leid's face didn't contort with such hate.
"For high treason and assassination of the former President Benjamin Kirix-Unda, my decision is he be executed," Alexander spoke sternly, though a shaking finger pointed towards the Senators with him, "that is, unless the Senate here care to do differently for inexcusable crimes like these."

The Senators looked at each other, whispered words before nodding, "Under Martial Law, we are persuaded to do whatever we must do for the safety of the Republic." Kome began, "We authorize any violent methods that may be used to extract other traitors."
Thyros looked between them before yelling out at them, "A decision without a court of law! SEE, WE'RE ALREADY BACK TO WHERE WE WERE! THIS REPUBLIC WILL FALL," he continued as the Marines pulled him away, "AND WHEN IT DOES I WILL BE HONORED, THEY WILL BUILD STATUES OF ME AND THEY WILL PISS ON YOUR GRAVES YOU BAST-"
The Marines gagged him and pulled him out of the door. His muffled yelling could be heard as they pulled him away.
Dark times had come to Unda, that was undeniable.

Alexander watched as they pulled Thyros away, a long silence had before he turned his attention back to the Senators.
"I'm fully aware I am a foreign party intruding, despite what rules are in place that say I'm making decisions right now. My decision was meant to not be one out of simply being an 'absolute authority', but rather as a message that I feel needs to be shared. Benjamin was taken away from Unda because of this man's actions. Where I'm not sure I encourage it as a normal and just punishment, I feel it says something to say that this is a crime that can not be tolerated...and that if we want people to remember we are still in control, sometimes you have to do things that some may not consider entirely 'good', if at all, but it will ensure an overall good result...it's just important to remember where the line is drawn," he spoke a lot more softly now, his hands folded behind his back, "Senators, I thank you for this abrupt meeting, for your cooperation. With your traitor out of the way, I'd prefer you start working together to make the decisions you know Unda needs you to make to keep order until you have a new president instated. Santo-Luce will gladly help with anything you need, starting now should you ask anything of me."
He took the moment to look over to Prince Kyros, putting a hand on his shoulder and pulling him in close and said with a tired grin, "Welcome to politics, Kyros."

"Mr. President," Kome stood up, using his cane to support his tired body, "It was the right decision."
"Some people must be dealt with right away, the constitution had no idea with what we'd be dealing with right now," another Senator concluded.
The Marine Commander stepped beside Alexander and nodded, "You may leave whenever you want, Mr. President. The Military will stay in charge until we figure it out clearly. We'll dig into documents and properly figure out this mess soon."

Kyros just watched as the events turned. It was sad to say that this was his first real political meeting, and he had a presidential assassination for it. He looked over at Alex as he pat his shoulder, and nodded, "I really hope not all of them are this gruesome..." He whispered to Alex, "So, do you have a plan on what we should do next?"

Alexander smiled politely and nodded to the commander before turning his attention back to Kyros.
"It's hard to tell, with all the dramatic changes in our different governments I'm not sure who's crazy, sane, good or bad anymore. I guess that's what you and I need to find out. I'm going to fight time keep our close ties with Unda whoever takes the reigns, assuming we can keep a smooth agreement like Benjamin and I had..." he frowned, emotions bubbling up again but knowing he had to get out of the face of everyone around him to really think and sort himself out, "what will you do, Kyros? I could use Crepusculum's help regardless, and I will keep my own promise to help you as well. I think we need to make a trip further east to Nerezza, see what else we can get."

"I could go to Nerezza and help work with Lady B'Shera." Kyros said, as he grinned, "We can unite the three, and make a solid union. I mean who knows, we might be able to unite the world. Wouldn't that be something..." He adjusted his coat, and stared at Alex, "So, Shall we go and save the world President-King Frexton?"
