Andy had it up to here with half the babies that were accompaning him in this shit storm. He ran to Jasmine and kept a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"I will handle them, just keep that barrier up okay? You can do this, I have faith in you."
With that needed assurance to her out there and on the way he pushed his legs backwards and shot towards The Other and Vincent's men, getting in between them and blocking the Other's claw with his gauntlet and using his sword to keep Vincent and his men back.
"KNOCK IT OFF! NOW!" he roared at the top of his lungs, "We don't need this shit right now do you understand me?! We are now surrounded by people who believe we are agents of Duo, now get your act in gear now or otherwise we will be overrun!"

Vincent's anger had no clue where to direct itself. It had been The Other up until Andy leaped in, and he wasn't sure if he should barge through Andy to get at the king or turn his attacks on the redheaded boy instead.
"'Knock it off'? How about 'kill that fucking thing'!" Vincent bellowed, jutting a finger in The Other's direction, "or did you not see Ignisian soldiers die here just now?! What ally is this?!"
He didn't retreat, he didn't back off as Andy requested. Instead with head shaking he drew back a few feet with anger and sword ablaze, an orange glow seeming to crawl across the man's tanned skin. Andy could either help or he couldn't, but Vincent couldn't be losing men like this and to something like this.

While the Other's left claw filleted a soldier with ease, he rose a suspicious eye towards his right arm that seemed to be missing the same pleasant sensation of murder. The aggravated voice of Andy Jammer made it all too clear who it was that had decided to interfere. He snorted in annoyance, keeping his eyes on Vincent as he spoke to the boy.
"What do I care of the insects beyond your lover's wall boy? I must, after all, teach this one a lesson for his actions against me. I am a god to you mortals after all, the least I expect is a little respect." The tentacles that writhed from his chest sucked back inside him, leaving his body looking pristine, save for the hot flames that had ebbed to mere embers on his shoulder and arms.
"Well dog, what do you say? Are you tired of struggling against the inevitable and ready to submit, or do I have to take things up a level?" He flexed out his arms, pulling back from Andy and preparing for the attack of Vincent's he could see coming.

"Oh ho ho. You wish, buddy!"
Maybe Andy was content on being talked to like some grain of dirt under this guy's foot, and if he was then he was far more pathetic than Vincent originally thought. A man still had his dignity to keep, and even if it meant that Vincent was fighting a stupid battle for the sake of that, then so be it.
The flames around his body grew, a circular pattern forming under his feet that glowed faintly as he narrowed his eyes at Andy.
"Get out of the way, Jammer!"

Andy having tore off to 'resolve' the issue between Vincent and The Other left Jasmine with the duty of maintaining the barrier that kept them probably alive at the moment. She followed Andy all but a few steps with wide eyes that showed the fears she held for her father's life and the people around him trying to help.
Seeing Andy leap in between the two parties and yell at them both as though they were kids was quite disconcerting. Jasmine bit her lip as she looked from the barrier, the people beyond it, and back to the boys and The Other and felt her nerves rattle so much she felt numb. Andy didn't have control over this, at least not her father and he was going to get himself killed if he kept going...
Jasmine stepped several feet towards them, hands aglow with a light spell.
"Felios, help settle their hearts..." a prayer, an incantation quickly whispered and with the flick of her wrists towards Vincent and The Other came a light spell, offensive in contact in the form of a ball of light the size of a large man's fist, yet with an added effect of calming or purifying the heart of anger. Prayer really was the only thing she could think of that could calm them down, and hopefully Andy could help her get them back on track without anymore deaths.
Yet as she released this light spell it weakened her barrier, a cracking from behind her was heard as it started to be taken down.
"Asmalat, help me keep them away," she muttered, whirling around with a hand up in the air. Facing the mob again Jasmine threw her hand down and as it reached her navel area the area around where the barrier stood lit up with an eerie green colour, rebuilding the wall that would send electric shocks through one's body if they were to touch it.
"We're not here to fight you! Please listen to us, we can talk about this!" Jasmine pleaded with the group and desperately hoped something would work.

Completely distracted by the three men still armed against him, The Other had only the moment of glowing holy light in his peripherals to feel a tinge of fear before the magic orb struck him against the back. Still rooted into the ground he could only lunge forward and howl in pain as the attack seared his flesh far worse than any of Vincent's flames could have.
"Who...who dares?!" Vincent's men dropped to the ground as the spikes withdrew quickly into the ground, and free at last the Other took a lumbering step towards the centre of the protected area. His eyes darted around with a vicious hunger, the kind that looked wild and unpredictable, even for him. "I'll kill them! I'll tear them apart! C'mon, speak up and face your punishment!" The silence left him only angrier, and despite knowing that he should play down his rage, intelligence was a tool of the rational. Right now, the Other was anything but rational.
"Was it you?" He strode over to the woman with the eyepatch. "Dare you strike Lord Other from behind? Or was it you, filthy worm?" He stared daggers at Monthu for a moment before shaking his head. "No, no no! None of you have the guts, not one! I suppose I shouldn't be surprised after all. Cowards the lot of you! Hiding from the weak, the pathetic that peck at your barrier like little, teensy birds. Well..." He chuckled menacingly to himself. "Let's see how the cowards deal with a situation they can't hide from!"
Without allowing the others a moment to guess what it was he meant the Other snarled viciously as he pummelled the barrier that Jasmine had reinforced just moments ago. Each strike sent a painful shock throughout his body, but he was far more interested in sweet vengeance than he was set aback by mere pain. While the puny weapons of the plant riders could have poked away at Jasmine's shield for hours without progress, it took only a half dozen of his Herculean punches before the magical bindings cracked under his power, shattering the field that separated the two parties.
"Have fun boys! Try not to kill them too quickly!" He cheered triumphantly before crouching down and leaping through the air into the forest, his laughter left to echo throughout the dense foliage as he vanished from view.

"Oh of COURSE!" Andy growled, if it had to come down to a fight then fine...but they needed a little bit of time. Andy pushed himself into the air and as Jasmine's barrier dissipated he charged his Ki energy.
"Shinku...HADOKEN!" he roared, firing a massive beam of energy at the ground between the group and the attackers, using the energy line he created a trench between themselves and the enemies.
"That'll buy us some extra time!" he yelled as he landed on the ground, "I don't think there is any way around this Jasmine, we may have to fight...but we don't have to kill."
He formed his fighting gloves and got himself ready, "I got some moves that can clear a crowd but we may need to pull back quickly before being overrun."

As the barrier crumbled and the fellow riders began to tighten the circle around the bizarre collection of people, Fillion stayed back and surveyed with interest the action take place around him. It was looking like things were about to get serious, and that meant he had a decision to make. Well, he didn't have a decision to make, but he snagged the coin out of muscle memory and gave it a flip as Andy's beam sliced the ground open.
Heads, I side with the oddballs. Tails, the riders. Catching the coin and palming it instantly he hesitated for just a moment. Please be the goofballs. After all, in addition to looking nothing like a group of spies, the group seemed like they were doing more to keep the riders safe from the black monster than vice versa. Besides, to Fillion anything had to be better than getting motion sickness on the giant plant mounds for one more day. Almost wincing at the reveal he muttered a silent swear under his breath. "Alright alright, you're the boss." With a measured gesture of his hand the coin was put safely back in place, leaving him free to do what needed doing. Fillion gave his neck a couple twists as if relieving himself of a crick while he shock his hands out. Superfluous as it was it pumped him up, getting his blood flowing along with the mana that he was already drawing into him.
Fillion sucked in a deep nasal breath, letting not just air, but the mana fill his lungs. He held it all in, bringing his palms up to his lips before he expelled its contents. What released was a frothy wisp of crackling light that moved like water in his hands, yet somehow pooling just short of his skin.
"Hey kiddo! Catch!" Swirling the pooled energy in his hand with a little flourish Fillion underhanded it out towards Andy.

The commotion only seemed to bring more of the warriors out, quickly moving to fill any gaps that Andy's blast had made. Suddenly as the warriors slowly encroached the group, there seemed to be a gathering energy above the group...
And than it appeared, a giant head above the entire group that looked exactly like Kain's.
"HAAAAAALLLLLLLLT!" The head screamed, its voicing booming all around the entire group. The warriors quickly halted and took two steps back from the group, "YOUR SAVIOR DEMANDS ORDER!"

Jasmine heard the howling and shrieking The Other did after she'd hit him, the thought 'what a baby, it was just a little spell' running through her mind only briefly as she worked on maintaining her barrier which was, sadly, then brought down by a very angry Other.
Which then made a very angry Jasmine as he leaped away and all she could think of to do in that moment was to stand and stammer about in shock and rage as he destroyed her hard work. As Andy insisted, she readied herself for a lashing, but intended only to hit the group approaching them with light spells in great similarity to what she'd just thrown at Vincent and The Other.
And just as she was about to send in the first round, the face appeared above them all and screamed. Catching Jasmine off-guard, she shrieked and fell over onto her bottom on the ground, hands flailing about and accidentally released the orbs of light she held in her hands out in random directions in through the woods.

Well now, Vincent had been fully ready and charged to release a fury on The Other that was so great, that bastard would be lucky if he were alive to tell the tale afterward. Or so Vincent thought, anyway.
He took one step forward, brought his shoulders back with sword firmly in hand and then in an instant was knocked to the ground. At first he was shocked, even angry that somehow he'd gotten hit and as hard as he did. He was about to blame Andy until he realized the guy never moved from his spot since putting himself between the two.
He sat on the ground, feeling fine but his right side burned only a little and he looked in the direction that he assumed the spell came from, his eyes resting on his daughter who was busy with her back to them with the giant wall she'd put up.
'NO. There's NO way she...'
Because really, why would his own daughter actually attack him? That didn't make sense. And yet she was the only one in that area that could have done something like that. It stunned Vincent, to the point he couldn't be angry as he was too busy being completely dumbfounded and in the smallest way was actually hurt.
Yet as quickly as it happened he had to let it go for now as The Other made his run and the wall came down. Where the face above them startled Jasmine, Vincent automatically readied his sword and stood ready, whatever was left of his still-startled soldiers getting in line behind him.
"What the hell is that?!"

The giant head hung its head back and laughed, the booming voice echoing all across the forest.
"Haha, that never gets old," the voice said to itself before locking eyes with Jasmine, "YOU. YOU SEEM LIKE THE LEADER AMONG THESE FOOLS, STATE YOUR BUSINESS FOR BEING HERE!"

Jasmine's eyes widened as she stared up at the floating head, her bottom still parked in the grass. Somehow she looked like their leader?
"I...w-well it...I...uh..." she blinked several times, "we...w-we're on a quest to fight against evil! Err...against Duo Angelo and those who follow him!"
Try to have some confidence in your words, Jasmine. Try!

"HAHAHA!" The giant head boomed, "You against Duo? Your own team just started slaughtering each other, I HIGHLY doubt you've got what it takes!"
It paused, thinking for a moment before grinning, "In fact... I believe a test is in order! OI, FILLION, GO TEST THIS FOOL FOR ME!"

Jasmine scrambled to her feet as the face started laughing. She didn't know what this things' intentions were, but for something that 'craved order' it seemed to her to be causing more trouble considering the group just had an unexpected attack from The Other. Where yes, it was true that this group had its own issues (which appear to have been dealt with now, thankfully) Jasmine's soft heart was taken by the priority that those in need came first
They always came first, that was her job, her duty as a twilight mage--aid to those in need, and punish those who threatened to disrupt a peaceful balance. She took in a deep breath and balled her fists, throwing them to the side as she gave the face the strongest 'roar' the small girl could come up with.
"Wait wait wait wait--what?!" she shrieked, glaring at the face and everyone that followed it, "you people are horrible! Or did you not just see a monster attack some of our own?!"
She thrust her finger towards the Ignisian soldiers, the few that tended to their wounds, those waiting to die, those who were already dead.
"We need help and your answer is to make us fight more?! Look at all of you! At what point did you forget you're human?!" her gaze turned back upwards to the sky, "you are cruel--evil sir!!"
Jasmine breathed heavily, tears in her eyes and her whole body shaking violently as she tried to quickly whisper under her breath the incantation she'd need to rebuild another barrier. She wasn't fighting anyone, she'd rather bar them off forever and go around them if she had to but she had people to look after and it felt like she had no allies anymore to help her with that, even.
