This thread is for you to post your favorite game, console, and whatever else you really see necessary. its the favorites thread.
My all time favorite game is probably dungeons and dragons, but for the sake of this thread I am going to say final fantasy nine. my favorite console is the Nintendo 64, countless hours can still be poured into that masterpiece.

^^ I love the N64, and I actually have a softspot for the Gamecube (for things like SSBM, Animal Crossing, True Crime NYC, and some of the Mario sports games). I have a love/hate relationship with the Wii (though if I had the choice, I'd live without it I think. Nintendo FAILED imo) BUT. To this day I still pour my heart and soul into the SNES system. Maybe not physically, as my SNES has LONG died, but I play rom after rom after rom on my laptop: games that I remember and still die to play, games that I hate but want to play to relive those angry moments, and games that I had always wanted to try but my parents were too poor/lame to buy for me when I was younger. It's not the same without the old controllers, of course, but whatevs. I loved my Super Mario World, and I loved Yoshi's Island....and the Super Mario RPG--good times! ...Speaking of Yoshi, I LOVED N64's Yoshi's Story ^o^ I don't care what anyone says. Best two hours of my life. ....OH YEAH. Soul Calibur! I've only been able to play SCII and parts of III, but I enjoyed it, too :3 I have problems choosing favourites!

Mario RPG is the game that got me started on RPGs way back when. Everything you said is so right though, except I never liked any of the Soul Calibur games. I had my snes not long ago and I couldn't stop myself from playing mario rpg and secret of mana. I can't find a rom for mario rpg so those days are over.

Old Spyros.... man, I STILL pour hours into them! THey're so.... fun!
It's too bad my Spyro One disc died... but I'll revive it! With my disc scratch remover! YAH!
yeah...
But anyway...
For the sake of the thread, my favorite games would have to be the Kingdom Hearts series and FFVII/X. XII was great, but there's special places in my heart for Cloud, Tidus, and Yuna... and Vinny-kun of course.

I run D+D 4E, and sometimes play Saga Star Wars.
As far as consoles go, I'm a nintendo fanboy- If I had the money right now, I'd already be in line for Conduit, a Wii FPS. As it is, I'm playing FFX and Brawl over and over again.

4e huh? I still havent played it yet, no group actually wants to. I still rock out with the 3.5. I have read the books and still want to try 4e though.

I have noticed that it is easier for complete newbies to tabletop RPs to pick up, than 3.5 players... It's just similar enough to screw up your expectations.
However, it works very well, IMO. I didn't run games, before... Now I do, and it's easy.

As far as the Wii goes, I've been playing whatever games come and sit on my lap because of family who figure I want them. I have in my collection thus far: Animal Crossing City Folk (whatev the title was), Mario Party....8 I think they're at now (too many, that's how many), and Dewy's Adventure o.O
Though the sisters and I play Brawl. But I demand the Gamecube controller for that ^^; My adjusting to the Wii is happening, but not well at all.
And ahaha, D&D fans. ^^ I should let my boyfriend know, he might want to come chat it up. He, his brother, and friends are all trying to get me to play but I'm really hard to get ahold of at the times that they're all available, so so far we've only come up with a character for me. o.O Which is a guy I named Eddie, who lights things on fire and kicks orphans. My boyfriend's brother wanted me to try the new version of the game that came out, but he didn't want to spend money on the books apparently?
But now they're playing Shadowrun and want me to try that, too >>; I say it might be interesting, but my patience is growing gradually thinner because where my boyfriend is quite respectful of the kind of RPGs I already do (online like this), his brother grows increasingly aggravating as he tends to word things like, "Shadowrun actually demands you have a backstory for your characters, unlike the roleplaying you do right now."
Which is BS.

Heh. I was introduced to this site by someone I met at a gaming convention- It was her first D+D game ever, and she was one of the better roleplayers in the groop.
Shadowrun may require a backround... but though you can lead a horse to water, you can't make it drink.

Dnd Varies so much depending on the kind of DM or GM you have. I don't play anymore because I recently moved and I havent found people to play with.
about Brawl, I never had or played a gamecube, so I quickly adjusted to the wii style play. I'm not that great at brawl though.

I love doing tabletop RPGs. So far I've played D&D 3.5 and 4e, as well as Shadowrun. D&D does lend itself better to people who have never played before and 4e is so much nicer to get started with as all classes are equally simple to play, prepare and understand. (So much rage for trying to get a wizard created, trying to show someone 40 spells and tell them to pick 2... very frustrating.) As for Shadowrun, the reason the background is so important is because a) it makes you feel like you're playing a real person as there's very little fantasy to it and b) half of the key parts of your character are too hard to just make up unless you actually have a backstory. Stuff like your list of contacts, areas of interest and knowledge to your character and there isn't a nice list but rather anything in the world can be a knowledge or interest you put points in, like Renaissance Poetry, Etheopian Cooking, or Forum-based RPGs.

I didn't say Shadowrun was a bad thing I just don't appreciate my idea of RPG fun being categorized as "this is so simple, a dumb broad like Barbie could play it! *hee hee!*" and someone else's being viewed as god. Especially if I said negative eff all about the other persons' rpg =/ I'll show just as much respect to a person as they show to me. That night? I received zilcho.
