He made his decision, he finally made his choice. When he joined Trucido he only did so he could destroy Griever, but even that... every other of Trucido's goals did not please nor interest him. He waited until it was dark and the Sumata were asleep before making an attempt to slip out.

"Couldn't sleep?"
A voice spoke from the doorway, low, whispering. Elexa leaned against the wll just outside the door.

Zelos stopped, he didn't count on Elexa finding him. He felt his stoic face weaken and looked away from her. "No I couldn't... but that's not what I'm doing."

"Don't worry... I won't tell on you."
She smiled slightly in the darkness.
"What are you doing, in the middle of the night? If you don't mind my asking."

Zelos smirked slightly but did not face her, "I'm leaving Elexa."

"For where?"
Her question wasn't probing, merely curious. Her large, purplish eyes bored into his back as though she could discern his motives and destination just by looking at him.

"..." If he told her, she may try to fight him. But then again he was leaving what would be the point. "I'm leaving the Sumata."

"....so you would risk going against them."
Her words were intrigued, not angry. She put one hand to her chin in thought.

"Yes. I made... a foolish mistake, a mistake of my youth when I joined the Sumata. I wanted something...I could not have again."

"And what would that be, Lord Zelos?"

"...I wanted my wife and child to return." he said, turning to face her. His face's expression of stoic was gone to reveal of more tortured look. "I...went to war, when I returned they were gone. I searched all over the kingdoms, but they were not to be found. Trucido offered a way to find them when he was first starting the Sumata. My wife and child...were gone, because of cults, worshipping thier god of death: Griever."

She nodded.
"So your obsession with the orange-haired boy. I... see."
Her eyes dropped to the floor.
"I will be honest with you, Zelos... I have never been loyal to lord Trucido. My loyalty was skin-deep only. I did not believe in his quest for power, was content with rule of Nerezza. I believed... that Trucido was using the Sumata, for his own gain. When he will turn on them, how, I do not know, but that day is coming. I allied with him only because the Twilight Kingdom had no hope of defeating him, and if I chose to stay out of it he and his army would wash over my land like a plague. If you leave... I will follow, because I am tired of following a man so blind to humanity, so evil in every way."
She looked up, meeting Zelos's eyes if she could.
"Nerezza will follow Guasto to war, if that is where this leads."

Zelos paused, "Follow Guasto to war...or follow me to war?"

She smiled.
"Which do you prefer?"
Her smile was secretive and he eyes glinted in amusement.

"Logic says Guasto, for fear of gaining an enemy..." His stoice expression returned...breifly. "But...my heart...wishs that you would follow me, for something more than survival."
