By no means did Alex come away unscathed from the battle, but it seemed like his rage was honing his reflexes, and he knew he shouldn't be dealing as well as he was. scratches where he should've gotten large wounds, bruises where he might've died or been knocked unconcious. His wings flared and beat, sending a powerful backdraft to unbalance the assassin, a technique that felt familiar and yet, he'd never used it before. Where had he learned to fight like that? And how was this rage working? They needed to talk to Elexa...
((I'm thinking this takes place betweent he Library thread, the thread where you went to go talk to Seigmand, and the thread where we go speak with Elexa...))

((lol yeah, something like that. Man, these guys have had one hell of a journey!))
She fumbled, she fell against the draft by the wings...
And crouched low, launching herself at him again trying to use the ground in her advantage. She thought if she could stick close to it, the wind really wouldn't bother her. Foxy snapped at her face, the assassin threw herself into the beast and stabbed into it hard. Foxy gave a shrill cry in pain and fell weak to the ground, her form slowly dissipating already.
The woman only had Alex to get rid of now....and the other blonde guy if he ever did anything. He was really starting to creep her out.

"Hey, stop that!" He thought she had killed the fox, but... it looked like the animal had only been a spirit.
Still.
He rushed the assassin, attempting to knock her to the ground.

The stealthy and fast assassin had the perfect shot all lined up, throwing herself towards Alex and she was certain this time she could deliver him a fatal blow (or, at least she thought it was)--and then Vash barrelled her over. She cursed loudly and rolled off to the side, stumbling to get up.
"What the hell?!" she shouted, directing most of her attention to Vash, "you've been waiting there for this all along, haven't you?! You've had this all planned."
Of course he did, he had to have. Why else would he have just stood around doing nothing up until now? It was all an act to get her to drop her guard against him down and look at what happened.
Not again, oh no not again. She hissed and brought her sword back up.
"Come on! Come at me, die, and stay out of the way!"

He sighed. "Again with the swords and the killing... honestly, what's a guy gotta do to get some peace around here?"
He unstrapped the giant, stone cross from his back and thunked her over the head with it, attempting to knock her out - or, at least, that was what he planned to do.

She took the hit, falling to the side and economically rolling back to her feet with a sly grin on her face.
There, the assassin woman remained still for another moment or two, looking as though ready to pounce yet again when she suddenly fell over, appearing to be unconscious.
To this, Alexander raised an eyebrow and looked from the woman to Vash, then back to the woman. He looked at Vash again and then finally at Alex as he spoke out, "...Is she dead?"

"Just knocked out," Alex said, crouching next to the woman. Vash looked, somehow, relieved. "Thanks for helping us out. For a moment, I thought you didn't fight at all."

Vash blinked. "I generally don't. But if I didn't, she was gonna kill you all, or you were gonna kill her, and that just wouldn't be right, y'know? I don't like killing. It's stupid. And pointless. It'd be nice if everybody got along.S o, I guess that's my mission! Peace, love, and justice, right?"
He gave a silly grin and rubbed the back of his overly-spiky hair.

Alexander looked from Alex to Vash as he spoke, "I wouldn't have killed her if I didn't have to. I agree killing is very pointless and it's better to get along..."
He looked back to Alex with a bit of a worried expression as he added, "...but why an assassin? And why me?! I don't remember doing anything wrong to anyone! D, did I do something bad recently?"

Alex's eyes narrowed. "There are many in Santo-Luce who didn't like you, simply because you're not like the old king. They thought you were unfit to rule. I have to admit that... until a while ago, I was one of them. But I never was involved in something like this. I think it may be the work of one of the most radical of those sects. But who could have found us?"

Alexander shook his head.
"I've no clue. I didn't even know people didn't like me. Man, why didn't they just say something? Why send an assassin of all things?!"
He buried his face in his hands. Was this connected to Holmes? Why he was so on edge recently? Why he pushed for Alexander to take immediate leave from the castle? Is this what Seigmand could have meant?
'Holmes...'
Alexander looked back to Alex, an almost horrified look in his eyes.
"Alex! Holmes, we have to get back to him!" he shouted, not using his dorky nickname for his captain for once.

"Who? What do you mean? Can I come? Where are you going?" Vash asked the questions rapid-fire, getting a sense of urgency from them. He somehow felt obliged to help these people.

Alexander couldn't keep calm. He marched quickly off in the direction he needed to go to head back to Santo-Luce. He couldn't be bothered to waste time, he worried too much about his kingdom and Holmes.
"I don't care," he said to Vash, "I don't care if you come. If anything, you come and I expect you to help. I'm worried something's very, very wrong with my home and I have to get back and do something about it..."

Alex watched King Alexander begin to walk away, but placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Milord. I understand how you feel - it doesn't sit right with me, either, leaving them to fend for themselves. I have good men in there, men I care about, whose loyalty I have earned and who have earned my trust. I don't want them to die, any more than you want Lord Holmes to die. But, please, for Santo-Luce's sake, we cannot go home. To do so would be to place you in the middle of the danger and hend the enemies what they want. We need to journey to Nerezza as we planned - then, and only then, we can return to Santo-Luce." His eyes looked deep into the King's, and they begged him. "Please, Milord."
