Volkmar was in Ingis earlier, dating a girl he liked, and everything was perfect, until he remembered what today was. Today, was the day that changed 19 years ago, everything had change. He had lost everyone in this village because of Xïsa Tyrant. Volkmar could never forgive that man. He was even from this village. Volkmar walked into the center of the town, where their was a giant stone tablet. There were to indentations. One was of the shape of Xïsa's sword, and the other one, was of the shape of the black sword he had. He looked at it and then the moon. It was mostly in the moonlight most of the day, so it was not uncommon to see the moon in the middle of the day.

It'd had been none to long since Onyx had begun his pilgrimage, and it had proven to be rather uneventful thus far. Onyx's hope for his quest was to better familiarize himself with the martial tactics of the other nations. Having grow up in the temple in Ignis and spending most of his days there practicing Ignisian Martial Arts, the notion of once again becoming the student held a humbling and reminiscent appeal to him. The idea was fairly simple, but the execution would be arduous.
Deciding not to trudge that land of the dead, Onyx instead vied to cross around through the Moonlight Kingdom and take in the beauteous sight of the full moon as he traveled toward Roccia. Getting close to the border between Ketulunaknox and Alberisato, his travels brought him upon the town of Lunatopia; the peaceful nation that Xïsa had destroyed so mercilessly. "Such action hardly befitting of a King," Onyx mumbled to himself as he began to wander into the desolate and demolished city.
Having spent most of his time out of Ignis on business trips, Onyx had never really had time to amble through some to the places he had visited before, and saw this venture of his as the perfect opportunity to not only explore said places more throughly, but to also learn about the areas and expand his knowledge.
As he made his way in and out of the rubble that used to be house, stores and other common stops, he noticed a single person standing in front of two large monoliths; the man looking to the sky with a somber expression on his face. Keeping to the shadows of the rubble, Onyx seeks to watch the man for a bit, and get a gauge of what kind of person he was dealing with before making his presence known.

Volkmar looked at the moon for a while, then he sat down and looked at his sword. "This sword was important to the village, almost as important as Xïsa's sword. I had this for 15 years, and yet, I know nothing about it. Does it do anything special, like Presul's sword? Or is it just a decorative sword..." he said. He slammed it into the ground and stared at it. "I need to know the secret of this sword, before I take on Xïsa again."

"You'd best hope that sword does more than slash if you wish to defeat Tyrant," Onyx spoke as he appeared from the shadows. It was obvious the man had something to settle with Xïsa, which in turn meant there was some connection between them. Assuming he was correct in his assumption, he guessed that the man coming here meant that he was indeed one of the few survivors of the great purge that swept over this town so long ago, but Onyx needed verification of such an idea. But the very notion that he saw to see Xïsa defeated was reason enough to trust the man and reveal himself.
"Xïsa possess an incredible strength that few can contend with, and assuming what you've said is true, you must possess strength beyond that of normal men to have survived a skirmish with him. But are you motives proper? Will the prospect of personal revenge really drive you to victory, or should the idea of avenging your people be what drives your sword instead?"
It was a gamble, as either Onyx would sound insane, mumbling about some imaginary sense of revenge, or he would hit his assumption right on. He paced slowly, his attention focused on Volkmar as he waited for a response.

Volkmar was a little shocked at the new person. He did not look like he was going to attack him, but he was not far from his sword."Of course it is revenge, but there is something else." He said as he looked at the Monolith, with his sword. " And apparently, I am destine to fight him, and either he kills me or I kill him."

Onyx laughed at Volkmar's last comment. "So you don't even drive yourself, but rather let the hands of fate tug at your reigns. The concept of fate is a tool used by those to ambivalent to motivate themselves into doing what they know nobody else will do. That sword that you carry in your hands is a heavy one, as so many lives cry out for justice and redemption, but you are too self absorbed in you own revenge scheme that their cries go unheard."
Onyx meandered towards the Monoliths and gazed at the inscribed patters on it, intrigued by the bladed shapes chiseled into the stone and their signifigance. "I pity the souls that lived here. You would think the last know living member to survive such a ordeal would aim to strike down the man who performed such an act for the sake of those he knew, rather than for himself. But i suppose my words too fall on deaf ears, as you seem adamant in your "resolve," if you can even call it that."
Onyx turned away from the man and begins to slowly walk away; the unseen glint in his eyes hinting at some plan in the works.

"I have never forgotten the souls that were killed by that monster." He said, as he looked at the moon again. "But I can not face him again, unless I can beat him. If I can't, then there will be one less Lunatopian."

"Do you not even have the confidence to say that you know you can beat him? You keep prattling on about how either it will be you or him and that if you fail, then you will die, but what should he fail? What if it is he that is not strong enough in the end? Perhaps it is not your resolve that needs fortification, but rather your spirit?"
Onyx turned about to face Volkmar, a grin on his face.
"I believe you need to clear your head, and I propose a little sparring session to help you in that regard. What say you show me and the lingering spirits of you comrades that reside here just what you can do?"

"...Ok." He said, as he stood up. I can feel his power. He is strong, so I have to be on my toes, if I want to win this sparring. He thought as he twirled his swords.

Clapping his hands, as if to clean them off, Onyx quickly sinks into a sturdy stance, his hands at the ready.
Good, things have gone just as I hoped. This man may very well be one of the last few to know any martial combat styles of the people of Ketulunanox, and I'm all to grateful to be able to experience it first hand. This will also give me a good gauge of my new fighting strategy and how well it can work, but i still have to be careful.
His attention focused on Volkmar, he stands like a statue, unmoving, waiting for his opponent to strike.

Volkmar looked at him, and he flipped his triangular sword so it was pointing towards the ground. He ran over to the man, then about 10 feet away from him, he jumped sideways. He started to spin like a twister, making him a blur, and then, he swung his sword down at him.

Onyx raises an eyebrow as he watches Volkmar's display. Does he hope that such wasted effort will dazzle me into a state of stupidity? Performing a raising-block, Onyx easily blocks the overhead blow and slips his grip down towards Volmar's wrist. Gripping the joint, Onyx slides in close towards Volkmar, and with a tug, he continues to pull Volkmar in the direction he was flying and throws him further in that direction. Before releasing him though, he sends an almost unnoticeable jolt through Volkmar, instilling him with a positive dipole.
Good, step one is a success, now I can actually put some of my ideas to the test.

As Volkmar landed, he stood up and looked at his arm That is a strange attack he thought. He flipped the sword back. He stared at Onyx and then charged at him. He swung his sword at him. One high, and one was low.

Blocking the first blow, Onyx pivots in closer, letting Volkmar's sword deflect off the metal siding on his legs as he throws a magnetized punch at Volkmar, causing him to be pulled towards Onyx crackling fist.

As Volkmar was being pulled towards Onyx's fist, he quickly looked at Onyx, and said "Moon, give me strength, Noxi!" As he was hit, a green gas emitted from the ground.
