"Grandmother!" Jasmine hissed angrily, "there's nothing in there! N-nothing in there that isn't supposed to be, anyway. What are you playing at?!"
She edged closer to Annabelle, dropping her voice as low as she could hoping that Xisa and the others wouldn't hear as she whispered, "seriously, what ARE you talking about? What are you doing?!"

Xïsa stood up and he hit the post that the cage were conneted. They were now over the water, and Xïsa had his sword on the post. "What I am doing here is none of you business, you are not a citizen here." He said to Jasmine, then he looked at Annabelle, "Give me the stick, or I will kill both of you. Starting with your granddaughter."

Annabelle simply shrugged. She was calm, she knew what she was doing...if Jasmine didn't pick up on it, then...well, she didn't pick up on it. That was okay, Annabelle was confident she had everything under control.
"Sure there isn't, granddaughter," Annabelle said loudly, winking again, "but we both know where you hid it on yourself...and that's alright, 'cause these Sumata scumbags won't see the attack coming..."
She grinned at Xisa as she then stepped forward, putting her hands on the bars and holding the staff out to him. She then put on a short dramatic performance of her holding onto the bars for support without her 'precious stick'.
"Bastardly man, you are," she said to Xisa, "you'll get what's coming to you."

"You will get this back when I drop you off." He said as he took the staff away. He walked off as the soldiers said "Nothing here, Sir!" He then said, "Go to the next Island."

Annabelle snorted.
"Yes, mother," she answered and leaned against the cage, "the staff will do you no good anyway. I'd say come in here and I'll show you what'll do you good but..."
She looked over to Jasmine with a grin again.
"Granddaughter, you have it down the front of your shirt. Take that stuff off and show them they should have put their hands on you first rather than worry about me! Heeeheeeeheeeheeeee!"

"I'm not stripping!!" Jasmine shouted, fists balling up.

Annabelle rolled her eyes.
"Granddaughter, you don't understand...SHAKE THAT THING!"

Unknown to the others, there was another small ship out on the now calm waters of the rapids. In command of this small ship was Vincent Loque himself, having gathered a few strong men to help him sail about the world and investigate deeper into Sumata activity on their own.
Tonight he overheard a commotion. He smiled as he saw the ship that was easily recognized as Xisa Tyrant's. He observed it carefully, they were up to something. Apparently they had someone on board too. He heard mostly the cackling of an evil witch, but then one voice shouted out that he knew only too well...
"Dammit," he growled and turned to his own men, "change of plan--we have to go out there."
"What, sir? What for?"
"Can you not hear her? A pretty young thing's in trouble. We do what we have to do to help that little lady, right boys?" he smiled and they obliged, turning the ship in Xisa's direction. Vincent couldn't help but mumble under his breath.
'If that's Jasmine, Jammer better have a damn good excuse for this...' he thought to himself as he pulled his sword, preparing for battle. The men by his side did the very same.

Jasmine sighed frustratedly, trying to ignore her grandmother as she continued on...and on...and on...
Great. They were going to die because her grandmother couldn't keep her trap shut. Fantastic. Jasmine leaned her back against the bars of the cage and looked out over the river, her eyes widening slightly as she caught the sight of a light ahead. In the moonlight she saw another object moving towards them--a much bigger one. A ship.
She hesitantly looked back to Annabelle, and then brought herself up against the front of the bars to Xisa again.
"What's so secret about what you're digging up that only citizens can know about it? What are you up to?!" she tried to keep the attention away from the other ship.

"I do not have to explain myself to the likes of you." He said as he looked forward. "Be grateful that you are still alive."

"What do you mean 'the likes of me'? I am a sage, and high spiritual servant of the Twilight Gods. A divine healer, I think I should be shown a bit more respect than that, sir!" Jasmine stood tall, placing her hands calmly at her side. She'd drag this out as long as she could.

Annabelle looked over at Jasmine, raising an eyebrow.
"Training spiritual servant, you are. I'm the high servant," she added in, rather calmly.

"The gods are a joke!" he said to them. "You are not helping your case. You are the enemy, and I do not have to respect you." One of the soldiers then said "Sir, there is a boat, behind us!" Xïsa turned around and saw the boat. "This does not look good for you, ladies."

Annabelle looked over, seeing the other ship and smiled.
"Doesn't look good for us? I'd say you're the one who's outnumbered, handsome," Annabelle cackled as she rolled one of her wrists, a cracking sound heard from it as she did so. She then flicked it towards her cage door, open palm facing it.
"Dovolga!" she said, a crackling of fire appearing first at her fingertips before creating a massive exploding ball that burst itself through the door of the cage. She ran forth and took a surprisingly good leap (for an old woman) back onto the deck, rolling to avoid breaking her...I don't know, hip or something.
And the whole time? She cackled.

"We can kill the old lady." He said as he threw the sword at the beam. He cut though the beam, and sent the cages into the water. "Have a good afterlife, Jasmine."
