((This is to provide some exposition to the war that shall be taking place in due time))
With Lana gone, Onyx had little to occupy himself with other than the usual rabble that came with his royal title. Requests from his subjects, complaints, dealing with the occasional thief or miscreant, but this was all busy work in hopes that something would fill the void and dispel the thick air of boredom that seemed to permeate his kingdom. Little did Onyx suspect that his wishes would be granted, far beyond what he had thought or hoped for.
Being the ever vigilant King that he was, Onyx saw it necessary to keep an eye on every Kingdom and it's goings on, and what better way than a man on the inside. His spies had situated themselves within each castles' walls as maids, servants, guardsmen and other positions as such. As they lived in the castle, they usually caught wind of what events befell those in the kingdom, along with events that befell the Kingdom as a whole. His spies would then send their finding late at night at the end of every week via carrier hawk to Onyx, so he could review what was happening all around the world and steep himself in the interest of knowledge and culture. Sadly, that day was still approaching and he desperately needed something to soothe his boredom.
Deciding that a walk around town may find him something interesting, he removed himself from his throne and made for the door leading out of his quarters. Swinging the doors of his chamber open, it revealed a a young woman dressed in maid attire, bearing a small envelope in hand.
"Ah, Cheripha, what brings you to my quarters today," Ignis replied with a warm smile.
"G'day Milord," she said as she bowed gracefully. "This letter came for you, sire. I believe it is a message from our Crepusculum spy."
Onyx gave the letter a quizzical look, as its arrival was several days early than planned, but no matter. "Thank you, my dear" he replied as he gave her a regal bow of his own. "Now if you excuse me, I must attend to this letter immediately. Good day to you, Cheripha."
The maid performed another gracious curtsy before she closed the large doors, leaving Onyx alone to study the letters findings. A mixture of excited and foreboding sensations ran through Onyx's body as he peeled away the letters covering to reveal the written secrets to his eyes. The letter coming early meant one of two things, his subject had merely forgotten what the agreed upon date was, or that something urgent had arisen that required Onyx's attention immediately. Peering at the scribbled marking before him, his eyes widened with terror as he read his servants message.

Month x, Date xx
Dear Lord Volkanon,
This is of the utmost importance and I saw it fit to send this to you as soon as I heard, regardless of the predetermined sending date. Crepusculum Kingdom seeks to bring it's ships and battalions to your land as an act of war. I beseech you, Sire, rally the troops post haste and make ready at the Western Shorelines in two days time, for the Twilight Kingdom seeks to rid our presence from these lands. I shall remain within their ranks and see what I can do to bring folly to their plans form the inside. I wish you the best of luck, Milord, and pray that the flame of Ignis burns strong in these desperate time.
Your Loyal Subject,
Valmur

Making his way expeditiously towards the doors, he slams them open as he continues to run, seeking to inform his subjects of the dire message that has made it's way to his Kingdom and the action that must be taken to protect their homeland. Onyx wondered if it was the fact that he stayed behind that lead his Kingdom to be at Crepusculum's arrow-point, but his regret would have to wait, Onyx would need all the time he could muster to prepare for the next several days, as the dark clouds of war made their way over his Kingdom.
