Ayalan didn't know why he was in the forest to begin with, for the person he was looking for could very well be anywhere.
However, to him, he did owe him a great deal of thanks, and he also needed to talk to him.
The trees seemed..unusually welcoming to him though; he never seemed to get lost, and nature itself seemed to point him in the right direction: Tracks, moss, survivalist instincts all pointed him toward the end goal.
Of course, Ayalan had no use of his powers since the most recent battle, in fact, while his insides were healed, his body was covered in scars; yet he did not mind, and finally, when the clearing seemed..good natured, enough, he called out, "Maliciferum?"

Malice, who had been watching Aya tip-toe through the forest, stepped out of the shadows. "Hello, Aya." Malice smiled, he was genuinely happy to see the man. "What brings you to this forest?"

Ayalan smirked, he knew well of Malice's power: thus why he treated every part of the forest with as much care as possible, even trying not to step on twigs.
"Well, I came to thank you first off. I'd surely be...well..dead. Without you," He was okay to admit it, it was a prideful admittance seeing how he went down to begin with, as he held up his gauntlets; they still had traces of light power in them as he sighed and shook them off.
"And I suppose second off..I just came for chatting. Questions. You know. Because we certainly have a long way to go in this battle of Saints, Sumata, And Heroes. Seeing as you've helped me and I've helped you, I feel it makes our relationship a bit stronger so we can talk with ease."
Ayalan really had a way of being a nervous social person, especially in any one on one situation.

"No thanks is in order, I'm sure you would have done the same for me." Malice was surprised at Aya. He never expected this from anyone, let alone Aya. "I agree. What troubles you, my friend?" Malice turned and began strolling down a path that didnt exist five minutes ago, hoping Aya would follow.

Ayalan smirked and put his hand on his side; still armorless, the scars of battle overtook his physical body, but his soul was purer than most.
"Mainly, our next action. We have some Saints who agree with us, some who deny our existance, and a whole bunch of Sumata ready to take on the victor of the mini war and demolish them, what are we to do?"
He then added, "And..also, why you accept that this war should happen? Ravaging the lands so, surely it upsets you to every key point of war, when the largest tree is felled and the smallest rock is kicked." Aya looked to Maliciferum, he had the same views, but was much less etheral about it: The forest had borne him, and he played through it many times as a kid; it was his second home.

Malice was greatful for the question. He had pondered whether or not to participate in this war, this war before a war. "Ideally, the Saints would join us, but I'm fairly certain that will never happen." Malice thought of Roxa and Alessia. "The Sumata are extremely powerful. The thought of their coming is a burden on my soul. So much death, so much destruction will come of this." Malice stopped to pet the leaves of a Toxicodendron Radicans vine. "To answer your second question, I feel the sting of my dying brethren everyday. The people of this world know not the wonders of the botanical world, and therefore, do not respect it. But I will continue to fight for these people, in the hopes that one day, they will see the power of Flora." Malice looked into the trees, sadness washed over his heart. "We cannot let the Saints win this war. They do not love this planet. They will kill her. Nor can we let the Sumata triumph. I cannot live in a world without my beloved plants." The thought of the Sumata taking over the planet terrified him. He had never been so scared in his life.

Ayalan smiled and nodded, as he spoke up, "So you fight for your brothers and sisters most of all..well.."
He sighed and looked down, placing a hand on Malice's shoulder, "I admit, I'm sorrowful for the inevitability, but.."
Aya said softly, "I will plant a seed for every tree I need to knock down, and a watering of a plant for every herb I need to use to heal myself..take it for what you will, but I'll keep it as a promise." He grinned, and then looked down the path.
"So..Maliciferum..what do you propose our next plan be? You know the land better than anyone afterall."

"I thank you for your promise. It will not go unrewarded." Malice knew how the planet takes care of its children. Malice removed the hand from his shoulder and looked at the palm. "Hm." Malice smiled, "your going to live a long and happy life." Malice dropped the hand and began walking again. "The Saints grow weary of battle. Kain is losing his grip on his group. If we can convince the deserters to join us...Kain will be left standing alone." Malice stopped walking again, and turned to Aya.
"Aya, what do you fight for?"

Ayalan smiled at his words, and didn't even need the reward part: It was in his nature..to well. take care of nature. He looked at Malice's hand holding his and grinned, shrugging. "Even if I didn't, I've had my share of fun already; so that only gives me more time for having the same fun."
He then listened to the tactics that Malice proposed, nodding, "It is true, albeit, a bit idealistic for every Saint to join us. It seems to be that you would have to ask each one in a specific order, for example: You cannot get Van without A.B.A, and you cannot get Sonorc without the younger ones joining.." He did his own research in key study, as he smirked and put his hand on his side; now came the question a lot of people wondered.
"My reasons for fighting. You've..hit a chord within me on that. I will start with this: Revenge was my first reason, to find those who forced me to hurt my own family; but I realized that's no way to live life fully. It became a sub goal objective. Then my second reason became honor, however, a mercenary has no honor, he goes with the highest bidder, the person with no money ends up losing. Then came my third reason: Survival. But what had I to live for? So now, finally, I think I found my real reason."
He cleared his throat and nodded, "To give people a chance, for those I would view as my friends or my enemies, so that we could all end up in a better place: So we can cry, laugh, sing, dance..whatever we do together. As long as it is not always fighting. There are young fighters out there, some who haven't even felt the bliss of love or the sting of rejection. They're dying. I can't let it happen."
Aya then looked over, and put his hand on his hip. "My life went from depression and revenge to hope and restoration. I think though..when this war is done with..".. He shook his head.."Maybe I'll become a rover without mercenary qualities. Just be with friends and wander the lands. Find my inner self." He smirked.

Malice hadnt heard of such selflessness. "Your heart is pure, Aya. It is an honor words cannot describe to fight at your side." Malice smiled. "If, when this is all said and done, I still live, I would like to join you and roam the land seeking adventure and everlasting friendship."
Malice had never felt this close to someone before...not since his parents...died. So this is what having friends is like, heh?

Ayalan grinned, and gave Malice a thumbs up and a nod.
"It'd be my pleasure to have that kind of life. And trust me, you're not dying if I'm around." He shook his head, "If I don't see you when this is all said and done, I'll have lost one of my better friends-plus it'd be nice. You should try your hand at seeing the world, the creations you make at times. They're beautiful. "
Aya reached into his pocket, and then thought to himself, and nodded, smirking as he held out the seeds of fruits he ate for survival.
Aya sighed and then leaned against a tree, looking up and nodding.."All the people in the Heroes, and the Saints..We're all ..so similar. I mean..none of us have powers like they do..Bart and Grey and..they're all so powerful.." He then unpinned something from his ear, and handed it to Malice.
"Here. Take this," it seemed to be a small earring representing an army from long ago, who died off suddenly in history; he spoke up, "It's the least I can give you and the most I can give you in the same instance." It was really a token of his trust and friendship.

Malice saw how much this tiny shard of metal meant to Ayalan, and receiving it warmed Malice's heart. He pushed his hair behind his ear and put in the earring. "Thank you." Malice said with a smile. "There is a large difference between us and the Saints. While we are all powerful in our own unique way, the Saints use their power to destroy..." Malice took one of the seeds between his taloned fingers and watched it sprout and bloom "...while we use it to create and preserve... But we musnt think of them as evil. Only Kain and Bartholomew have true evil in their hearts. The others, Roxa, Alessia, A.B.A., and even Grey are intrinsically good. Theyve been led astray. We need to save them." A twinge of hate escaped his lips upon the name "Grey". Malice would not forgive him for what he did in Santo-Luce.

Ayalan smiled at Malice's actions: The earring was as nice as it was before as he spoke up, "Looks good." Was all he could utter out, trying not to feel odd about his letting go of his very past.
Onto business though, he nodded, "Yes. I agree. The Saints though..."..He gripped his shoulder and closed his eyes, feeling the very splintered arm from the first battle with the Saints. "...I think that they all are good natured. Even Kain and Bart. Bart is overly loyal and Kain thinks he is restoring the world to trueness and for the betterment of everyone."
He looked aside, "My own powers only lie in the art of basic magic and too much determination-" He watched, and smirked, speaking up.."They're for Santo Luce..." He nodded.."I was as disgusted as you were..but best not take personal judgment; they think that the world will be better after their ideals come through.." Aya then looked down and sat against a tree very nearby, sighing, and putting his weapons down at his side, relaxed.

malice saw the point Aya was making, but was not comforted. Because of Grey, because of the Saints, innocent lives were erased from the world. "I am very good at holding on to my grudges. If I face Grey again...I might kill him." Malice wasnt pleased with the words coming out of his mouth. He wasnt emotional, he never let his feelings get in the way of logic...at least, until now. Malice gazed at the sun as it set on Alberisato.
"Aya," he said, "you said you have basic skills in magic, but I believe you have potential. Let me teach you." Malice wasnt sure of his teaching ability, but he was confident that any training would help in the long run. "I know of a particular type of magic that may be of use to you."

Ayalan nodded, and looked up at Malice, smiling at the words actually: "I'll help restore the land...as much as I can. I'm sure we all will..but if you try to kill Grey, I'll have to hold you back. Nature is reoccuring: He only impeded an inevitable process, Malice." He looked back to the sun and gave a side glance to his friend, smirking; "...If you wish. I'm afraid I have nothing to give you in return however, but I'm willing to learn, no matter how long it takes."
