((I'll leave this open to anyone who wants to join in, just drop me a line before you do though, kk? )) It was late at night, the perfect time for Vincent to sneak around through Nemus and beyond. The moon shone just high above where he stood - morning would be hours upon hours away yet. He slipped through the forest, going deeper and deeper into the thick grouping of trees which all became taller, wider, and in a way more magnificent as he got closer to his destination - the Mother Tree. Before her was a grand opening of grass, flowers, the most beautiful flora anyone would have ever seen - surrounding her, only the most mightiest of trees stood almost like they were acting as her guard. The area was so dark because of the great plants that reached the sky, but it also had a mysterious glow to it...it really was lovely to look at. But he should not forget what he was here for. Vincent heard rumors, stories, whathaveyou; these tales told of a weapon deep inside of the Mother Tree... And Vincent was only too curious enough to not pass up the chance to search for it. Even if it were no use to him, he was sure that the heroes could use it for something. He stepped closer to the enormous tree, pondering how he was going to do this quickly and painlessly...

The trees would have looked like they were standing guard because they really were. A soft, warm wind rustled through the forest and upon hearing it, Lilith knew something was terribly amiss.
Her first thought was to go to the Mother Tree. Lucky guess.
"Tell me, sir," Lilith said out loud, suddenly appearing a few feet behind Vincent, "why do you feel the need to come here at this hour to disturb my lovelies?"

Vincent's eyebrows rose when he heard the voice behind him and he calmly turned around, hands on his sides, and faced Lilith. This was a no-brainer, he knew who she was, and it didn't surprise him in the least that she would have shown up because he was here.
This also spoke to him - the weapon that was rumored to be in the tree obviously existed. Why else would she have suddenly shown up? Besides being a tree-hugging-hippie.
"Ah, it's a real treat to be greeted by the queen of this land," Vincent answered with a smile, "I'm not disturbing anything. I just came to look around, is all."

"Lying gets you nowhere, sir," Lilith's voice was soft and sweet, yet the kind that only lightly coated the venom that lay beneath it, "they called for me. They say you worry them."
She looked over Vincent and his odd apparel. He looked like he came from the ocean, yet as her eyes outlined his features and took in his face, her own eyes gave him a poisonous glare.
"I see what upsets them. You're from Ignis," and with that, her voice dropped to become a vicious hiss, "get out."
And almost like they were following a cue, a wind suddenly rattled the forest and nearly all of the plants in the area blew their leaves and branches and pedals in the direction of the exit - giving Vincent more than enough of a clear sign that they all wanted him to disappear.

Vincent merely shrugged. "I can't do that, luv. I'm not doing anything to your little friends, I just came to check the place out."
Well, more like he came to check out what was inside the Mother Tree, but he was telling the truth when he said he wasn't here to hurt anything.

"Then I suppose we have no choice, do we?"
Nuts, berries, pinecones, and other odd fruits that grew from trees suddenly flew at Vincent, pelting him hard in the back. Lilith casually strode over in front of the Mother Tree and gave Vincent a taunting wave.
"Good bye," she said and waited for him to leave.

"H-huh? Wait-HEY!!"
Vincent had to admit that this wasn't the way he had planned things to go, even if Lilith had shown up. On a morbid note, at least he wouldn't go hungry out here, but getting an acorn to the side of the head was what made Vincent snap at the moment.
In one smooth motion, he whipped out his sword and performed some kind of a spin attack on the fruit, nuts, and seeds flying at him - a large burst of energy fired them all off in opposite directions.
"Now just you wait a minute," Vincent said to Lilith, keeping his sword out and at the ready, "I didn't come here to get things thrown at me, and I'm not leaving just because you don't like where I come from!"
She seemed to be picking a fight - if that's what she wanted, she'd get just that. If anything, it'd be one less of the Sumata 13 for the heroes to take care of.

Lilith pursed her lips together and kept her glare on Vincent solid, petting a sunflower that just rose to her side.
"You didn't come here 'just to check things out', either. You've no business in my forest and your defiance will do nothing but cost you your life," Lilith snapped and with the sharp flick of her hand, the trees all shook some of their leaves out. They hardened into hair-splitting razors and fired themselves straight at Vincent.

"Are you serious?!"
Vincent quickly fired off another spin attack on the swarm of leaves that came at him and he narrowed his eyes at Lilith.
"Alright, your majesty, if you want to do it like this..."
'It appears the only way to get to that one tree is to get through her...and the entire forest!' Vincent mentally groaned as he lunged toward Lilith, swinging his sword viciously at her.

Lilith's eyes widened, she was surprised at how incredibly violent he had become so suddenly. She took a hurried step back, stumbling as she did so, and as Vincent came right up at her one of the trees' roots shot itself out of the ground and slapped away at Vincent's sword.

Vincent instinctively swung at the root that attacked him, having to hack at it a couple of times before it snapped in half.
She couldn't fight, he could see it. Her plants did all of the battling for her. He thrust his sword toward her, his eyes bore into her golden ones, searching for that fear inside of her. If she showed it, she had nothing to fight with - all it would take is the twitch of her eye.

Lilith was going to make Vincent rather disappointed, for the fear that he was looking for in her eyes was non-existant at the moment.
Rather, she smiled as she took a big breath and deep from within her diaphragm she let out the most ear-splitting, high-pitched scream he would ever hear.
It would be so shocking that it would paralyze him where he was, whatever he was doing. In that time, she reached out and slashed him across the neck with her sharp, poisonous nails.
She grinned. It would only be so long until the poison killed him in a slow, agonizing death.

Vincent had forgotten that she could do that, that her scream could temporarily paralyze a person, and it was at a terrible time that he forgot that, too.
He let out a yell as she scratched up his neck, and his gaze upon her turned into something deadly as this battle quickly turned into a fight to the death.
'Me or her...it's going to be one of us,' Vincent thought, and so far it looked like the one dying was going to be him as he knew what those vile nails of hers were capable of doing. He knew his fate too well if he didn't get back to Hala or Jasmine soon.
The moment he was able to move again he attempted his spin attack on Lilith, with a bit more force than he had put into it earlier.

Lilith took another step back and was about to flick her hand to bring up a defense when suddenly another sword swung into play, crashing into Vincent's sword and breaking up his powerful attack in a blinding light, sparks flying in all directions.
Standing between Lilith and Vincent was a tall woman with brown eyes, waist-length blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, and she dressed head to toe in the green and brown garb most commonly found on the bodies of the Alberisato army. Her sword was long, thin and brimming with its own power, and her hard eyes fixed themselves onto Vincent's - she let out a low and threatening growl.
"You will step away from my sister and be gone from Alberisato within the hour. Otherwise, I'll kill you much faster than that merciful poison will," the woman said. Lilith stepped up closer to her.
"Maelie. Leave him be, the poor fool will die soon enough anyway," Lilith calmly said, looking over the woman, Maelie's shoulders at Vincent.

Vincent's patience was just about at its end, and he snorted at the new woman in front of him.
"If I'm going to die anyway, then what's it to you if I stay and take you both down with me?!"
His sword came up and met Maelie's, each swing with increasing strength.
