She thought about it. "Well....It all depends on what the spell is." She said. "Zapping at things, Creating portals and summoning objects usually don't require a chant. Most kids over the age of 5 can do those kinds of things actually." She said, then proceeded to zap at a dragonfly to make a point.
"However, anything past that usually requires a chant of some kind. The more advanced the spell, the more education it requires. If you want to do something like make an entire city explode, you'll also need a staff or pendant for harnessing energy." She stopped and bit her lower lip, realizing how terrible that sounded. "HAHA.... The only reason I used that as an example is because....well my cousin ended up doing that once." Her ears lowered, and she felt a little embarrassed admitting that. "Wasn't all his fault though... Um...anyway...." She continued.
"Everyone in my world is born with the ability to do magic, but if you want to learn more spells, it takes practice, energy, and you usually need to consult a spellbook or get someone to teach you how to do it. Say the wrong thing, and the results could end in disaster." She continued. "I've met mortals of my kind before, and they're all under the impression that magic is easy and just a form of laziness. This is not true as all! It's something to be admired and respected." She said. "If magic were a form of laziness, I'd be fat." She stated.
She had rambled on quite a bit, but it was a topic she felt strongly about.

Tempest couldn't imagine summoning objects up. He sat in silence for about a minute before the boat stopped. This time, he crawled off the boat, then stood up. "Can't be too careful." Tempest looked ahead of him and gestured. "The inns of this town. Let's get a cheap one and then we can go see Profeta tomorrow." He patted his pockets and produced a silver coin. "I always sleep outside so," Tempest gave the coin to Caramel, "here you go. Lock your door too. Thieves are here at night, and given the chance they'll steal anything you carry."

She eyed the coin then looked back at him with a raised eyebrow. "So....You'll have all the fun of sleeping outside while I rot away in an Inn?" She questioned. "What do you take me for?" She asked. "My friend Tavarius and I would go for months without setting foot in a building back when we used to sail the seas and roam the lands." This was an odd thing for her to be saying it seemed, as her appearance was rather feminine at that. "Don't you worry about me." She said. "If theres anything I learned during my pirating years, it was not to carry anything you were attached to."

"Hey, I meant no disrespect." Tempest raised his arms. "So, where you gonna sleep then? I'm going into the clouds when it gets dark."

She smirked, and said a chant. The Pendant attached to the front of her shirt glowed bright and then swirls of magic engulfed her. Once it had cleared, it seemed she was nowhere in site. That is, until a small mouse climbed up Tempest's clothes and perched on his shoulder. " Don't worry about me." she said coyly. "The City offers many places for someone this small."

Tempest smiled. "Alright then, where should we meet tomorrow? We need to start in the morning to reach Profeta's cave in one day." He yawned and looked up at the sky. "You know... I might check out that storm too. I need to charge my blades."

"Why don't we meet back here?" She suggested. "We'll part here, and meet up tomorrow. Is that alright with you?"

"Sure." Tempest picked her up and set her where people wouldn't walk on her in her mouse form. "Hey, take care." He bent his knees and jumped into the air. Instantly, a tiny storm cloud surrounded him from the clash of air and lightning magic in his blood. He raised into the night and vanished.

She watched him and then scurried off, looking for a place to sleep for the night. Eventually she found a nice place in between the cracks of a wall, where she fell asleep, almost instantly, waiting for tomorrow to come.

Tempest lay on a tiny cumulus cloud, above the storm. He had flown through the storm, gathering sufficient thunder bolts for his blades. He yawned and covered himself with his cloak. What would Profeta be like? He had no idea, and as sleep beckoned to him, his mind wandered to his missing father. He might have to go back to the Castle of Flies when he got the chance. A voice spoke to him, and he was determined to see who it was.

Caramel had dreams about the people back home. Her cousins, Kaku, and Gouji, and her Friends, Tavarius, and Dash. When morning came, she rubbed her eyes with a paw, and darted back to the meeting place, remembering that they were off to see Profeta. Using a spell to change back to her original form. She straightened her hair and leaned against a wall nearby as she waited.

Tempest came down with a compacted cloud. His eyes were half open as he stopped the cloud. "Morn'." he mumbled to Caramel. His hair was untidy and his eyes were a light blue. "Sorry, always tired at this time."

She smirked at him. "It's alright." She said. "Are we allowed to stop for breakfast, or is today going to be one of nonstop travelling?" She asked.

"I s'pose." Tempest just sat there, then cleared his head and tried to answer again. "We can get some breakfast at one of the inns here."

"Sounds good...." She rubbed her paws together, grinning the whole while. She summoned a pouch of gold coins and showed them to him. "Does my money have any value in this world?" She asked. "Breakfast is on me if they'll allow it."
