Jasmine used the time that Trucido fell into the river to take a glance at her injured arm and even use some healing to quickly patch it up--she didn't like using magic to entirely heal herself, but at this point she felt she had no choice. She just had to be careful. But how careful could you be with Trucido?
She braced herself as Trucido came running right at her. He was really fast, it left her even less time to think of what to do next. The pages of her book flipped madly at her side and as they stopped on another page, she managed to find the courage to ready her hand again.
"Inisk!" she muttered, throwing her hand towards Trucido as his sword came down. An electrical blue sphere formed itself around Jasmine and thrust itself towards Trucido--protecting the girl and viciously attacking the man.

"You still are not proving to me, that you are a hero." He said to her as he lifted his sword off of the barrier. "You have to read a book to do lousy spells. You are weak, and will need to lean on someone to survive." He swiped his hand over his sword and said some words, then the sword was covered in black fire. He then stabbed at the barrier, right at Jasmine's heart.

"There's nothing wrong with me having my book--you don't know what it's capable of doing!" Jasmine shot herself backwards and mumbled 'inisk' again, just in time for her barrier to act again, creating a ripple that deflected Trucido's attack. ...She still totally needed to run out of the way, just in case.
Jasmine thought she saw something flicker out of the corner of her eye, very much in the same way she had when she fought with Xisa on Earth, which was also in the same way that her grandmother had shown her in Santo-Luce...it was something only she could see. She'd have to investigate into it, but for now she needed another spell to ward off Trucido, something that went a little deeper than the book that hovered around her.
The prayer charm on Jasmine's wrist glowed brightly then as she extracted some of her stored up power from it, asking the gods for a little help. She was answered then with yet another dome-shaped barrier that took its place over Jasmine to protect her from attacks...but at least this one allowed Trucido to walk right into it. And when he did, he'd be electrocuted viciously.
'How's that for "weak"?' she thought, keeping her distance from him but still trying to remain hidden in the barrier the gods had lent her.

Trucido looked at the new barrier and then he laughed. "This is a god's barrier. Did you not think I wouldn't have recognized it?" He said as he walked around. "Weakling, hiding behind barriers, and not evening preparing an attack. Why should I waste all of my stregth hunting rabbits?" He started to walk away.

The thing flickered in front of Jasmine again, closer and revealing itself better to her. She was right, it most definitely was a spirit wandering nearby. She bit her lip as it edged closer, feeling the wholeness of her body, her soul, and it like any other longed for the feeling of being a complete human again. This one was monster-like in appearance to her, that meant it was very strong. Could she handle it? She could turn it away if she wanted to yet, she'd be strong enough to do that but should it take over her...
{Medium...} it spoke to her. Jasmine bit her lip harder and shook her head.
'Sage. Spiritual servant still in training--whatever you want to call it, I'm not a full medium. Take your leave.' in her mind, she responded. The spirit lingered.
{...This man upsets you...you have great power and he fails to acknowledge it. I can help, my dear lady.}
'Look at you, your aura. I cannot trust you, you're beaming with a power even greater than mine.'
{I promise only a mutual commitment, Medium. I was once in your position, having to prove myself to a fool who would not listen...I share your pain, I truly do. Allow me to help you, as I had no one to help me...}
'...Who are you? What can you do that can supposedly help me?'
{My name is Brae, and I was a young warrior hailing from the land of Ariadelvento. I am agile, flexible and use dual weapons, tonfa-like ones with blades. The wind is my backing and allows me to use powerful bursts of magic when I attack so I not only have technique, but a more painful boost to throw to an enemy. What more do you need to hear in order to consider my service?}
Jasmine had to think carefully about this as she couldn't afford to have to fight her way back into her own body should this spirit be lying to her. Her face then hardened as Trucido turned his back on her...a very poor move on his part.
'Nothing more. Prove yourself trustworthy, Brae.' Jasmine relaxed herself in order to let this strange spirit slip inside of her body, and in a few short seconds Jasmine was consumed in a faint blue aura. The translucent weapons appeared in her hands, the blades protectively covering her elbows. The figure of the spirit could barely be seen now, a young and small-built girl very much like Jasmine herself hovered around her like a shadow.
And without hesitation, Jasmine burst forth towards Trucido with the elbow-blades out, rolling gracefully and as she came up, sliced at his back.

Trucido was shocked at her attacking him. He was pushed into the river again, and when he popped out, he pointed two of his fingers at her. "That was a nice surprise... Dark!" He said as a ball of darkness was sent towards her.

Connected to the spirit of Brae, Jasmine bounced backward and whirled her blades around, a green electrical energy crackling as she split apart the darkness spell that was fired at her. The small girl sprinted forward again at Trucido, lowering her body just before him and firing her right arm upwards to slice up at Trucido and temporarily suspending him in the air. As he hung there for half a second, she immediately brought down the left blade and sent him crashing face first into the ground.
Jasmine, surprisingly, back-flipped a few feet away from Trucido, awaiting to see his next move.
'You move well' she found herself talking to the spirit inside of her.
{As do you. You are light-weighted as I am, so the adjustment to your body is quite easy for me...you are a little out of shape, though. You will be sore later...}

Trucido was on the ground, when his wings shoot out, and stabbed at her wrists. "Oh, so this is all? Jasmine, and whoever is using you as a dress, this is pathetic." He placed his hand on her stomach. "DARK" This one was different, it sent a dark pulse though her.

Jasmine hadn't felt anything at first. She saw the wings shoot out at her and felt tension in her wrists, hot blood running down them...but no pain. Not at first, anyway. Her eyes widened, she felt more fear than anything. The throbbing pain that was supposed to be in her wrists started rapidly growing, then. At the same time, Trucido brought his hand to her stomach...
{Medium, don't lose your focus, remember. In order for us to stay connected...}
Jasmine exploded with an agonizing scream as her whole body was suddenly hit with a tidal wave of excruciating pain. She writhed, but found moving caused the pain to worsen and the blood to spill more. The last time she'd felt anything this horrifyingly painful was when Xisa placed that curse on her. Except this time she could breathe, and her screams echoed far and wide. Brae fought to keep in contact with Jasmine, but the girl's mind was too distracted by pain and fear that she had no choice but to exit her host's body and watch sadly as the girl suffered.

"DOES IT HURT, JASMINE?!? WHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAhaha" Trucido laughed as she screamed. He removed his hand from her stomach and his wings. "Ready to give up and accepted the answer that we all know? Or, do you want me to torture you some more."

Jasmine continued howling in pain until Trucido let her go. She hit the ground and shook fiercely, her breath ragged and every inch of her still feeling the pain. Jasmine lay there and looked to her wrists, blood everywhere and the stinging was so great she almost felt like she couldn't move them.
"Jeilzu 'na...istu...set..." Jasmine mumbled, a soft healing spell slowly taking over to clot her wounds. The spirit of Brae kept near, watching over her.
{Medium, I'm still here. Let me take care of this...}
Jasmine's eyes glanced upwards at Brae. She didn't want to do this, she'd had enough already. She wasn't a fighter, she wasn't a warrior...she was...
A medium. Brae was the warrior. Jasmine had the power to bring, with her own soul and mind, the dead back to life to accomplish things like fighting someone like Trucido. That's what Jasmine was and there should have been no reason to be ashamed of that.
Because in a war where you have a disadvantage, you use what you can to fight with. Her mother wasn't a warrior either, but killed through acting like the good little housewife...and poisoning her victims.
'I need to get back up...'
{Allow me. Just let me do this, the pain will not stop me as long as you don't hang on too much...}
Brae entered Jasmine's body again, the blue aura taking place and within the next minute Jasmine was rolling back onto her feet with the elbow blades in her hands again. She took a hop back and awaited for Trucido to come at her first this time.

Trucido looked at her, "Jasmine...GODS DAMN YOU JASMINE!" He said as he looked at her. " You need to win this battle, more than I need to. YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY? Because You need to learn show everyone that you are not weak! That you are a hero, and not that pathetic house maker! But It looks like that you want to end up like her." He pointed his sword at her and stab the air, sending a dark sword at her.

'Don't talk about her like that...don't you talk about her like that!'
{Medium, calm yourself and let go control. Trust me, I can do this.}
Brae watched the dark sword come straight towards her. Jasmine was still fighting for control over her body in case the spirit took over, but Brae desperately needed the girl to let go. She waited, scared herself as she thought she was going to take this hit again but then suddenly...Jasmine backed off. Brae had full control and she smiled.
Throwing her arms upwards again, she moved gracefully with light-footed steps, twirling as though in a dance and as she did so, her blades began to glow with another green bout of electricity. She swung her arm at the sword and it exploded before her. The face that looked straight into Trucido's eyes were not Jasmine's, but of another young lady's with a hint of green. She grinned sinisterly as she launched herself with an incredible speed at the man and continued her 'dance', a rough wind picking up behind her with every swing. She slashed at him five different times, and as she finished the fifth swing a great gust of wind blasted itself into Trucido's chest.

Trucido was hit with the first 3, but he blocked the other two hit, and cut the wind attack. He looked at the new Jasmine, and looked at her eyes. "You are just like Andy..." He said as he bolted over to Jasmine and strike at her over a dozen time.

{Andy?}
'He's wrong. Andy is different, Andy has...something evil living in him. He can't control it. I am entirely different.'
{So you're saying this man's never met a medium before? How insulting...}
Brae scoffed at Trucido's remark, though found herself unable to physically voice the words. She opened her mouth and no sound came out, confusing her entirely. She felt every inch alive again, despite knowing that the blades she held in her hands were that of the ethereal form.
She took her stance and guarded heavily against Trucido's barrage of attacks, using her quick speed to avoid getting sliced at--she had to keep the medium's body in good condition, anyway. Brae waited for an opening where she took her chance to stomp her foot down onto Trucido's kneecap. Her right elbow blade whirled around and stabbed directly downward at his head with a green burst of light while the other came at his side.
{Medium. I'm sure you are already aware of this but...I cannot speak in your body.}
'I told you I'm new. I'm not strong enough yet to fully take the form of a spirit--you're the closest I've come so far.'
