"Well damn, couldn't you have waited another moment?! I'd have had you taken care of already," Vincent rolled out of the way of the incoming attack, the mace barely missing the left side of his head. He leaped to his feet and sprang forward, swinging his sword upward towards the large fellow.

Yeligar stopped the mace with his lance, but he was stabbed in it shoulder but a dagger. He flipped around his lanced and kicked the first two, then he pushed the red blade in the lance. He then stabbed the mace wielder in the shoulder .The impact ,when it hit the entry point, made it burst into flames.

"Son of a--"
"What the fu--!?!"
Multiple screams from the soldiers near the village exit let the head soldier know that things were not going so well for them. As a chunk of the men were burst into flames, another five ganged up and leaped onto Yeligar at the same time, trying to disarm him of the lance. One threw another mace at him, aiming for his arm, another threw himself into Yeligar's stomach to try to knock him over while the others went to grab for him to take him down.
The leader threw his mace up and hit Vincent with so powerful of a blow that it knocked the man backwards a few feet. He stared at the blond man with eyes so cold and cruel, he'd have cut Vincent up into pieces with looks if he could.
"Who are you and why do you interfere with the Sumata army? State your name, maggot!" he spat at Vincent, readying himself for another attack.

Vincent's eyes widened only a moment as he was propelled backwards, stumbling a bit as he tried to land on his feet and keep ahold of his sword.
'For a soldier, he's much better than anticipated. Close-range may not be the best strategy for this one...'
Vincent's attacks were very much lacking of distance ones, however. That was alright, though, when things got bad you...well...you had to think of a different way of dealing with the situation with what you had or else you died.
"My name isn't important for someone like you to remember. You won't even need it when I'm done with you, anyway!" Vincent's grip on his sword tightened and he gave it a quick swing upward to the sky, slicing to the right half-way through the first swing before twirling the sword downward and plunging it into the ground. The ground swelled slightly as it drew a large circle around the soldier, criss-crossing lines across it before the entire thing blew up into a flaming column, engulfing the soldier.
Vincent ripped the sword from the ground and lunged straight towards him the moment the attack was finished, slashing near the abdomen area.

Yeligar looked at the upcoming men, and he swung his lance and small tornadoes formed around the men. It swirled around them, trapping them in a pillar of wind. It was non-fatal, and it removed all of the weapons, but the maces hit their targets. Yeligar's arm was entangle in chain and the other one knocked the wind out of him. He tossed the lance to his other hand, as he regain his breath. He looked up and switched blades, to the white one. The tornadoes died, but then the ground was being covered in ice. The enemies started to get encased in Ice, and their screaming started to be silent.

The second wave of soldiers were flung upwards by the tornadoes, only to meet an icy fate as they landed back on the ground. The third wave of soldiers backed off for only a brief moment, pondering if they should rush in and risk the same outcome as their comrades while others with all battling spirit charged towards Yeligar, blades flying and maces thrown all around.
A couple of the soldiers burst through the bunch of ones attacking, shields out in front of them and rammed straight into Yeligar with as much force as they could muster in hopes of not only deflecting any of his attacks, but to try to startle and attempt to disarm him again. As they came at him, more attacked while the fourth and final wave followed close behind.
The leading soldier had very little time to react to Vincent's impending attack. As the large man went to move the fiery wall just caught him and burned his entire body with what it felt like the intense fires of the sun itself. He sucked in a deep and sharp breath, taking in the pain and as the fire was starting to let up he barely saw the movement of the man outside of the fire.
The fire disappeared just as he raised his mace high in the air and spun the ball around, and as Vincent came running in for his attack he brought the mace down in a quick and smooth motion, the large, spiked ball colliding with the blade, entangling itself only slightly with it. With the blade and chain momentarily connected the soldier forced Vincent inward and brought his large foot in to kick the man harshly in the side, sending him flying to the ground.

'Crap!'
Vincent took a rough blow to the side of the ribs just before becoming up close and personal with the ground, face-first. In the process he lost his sword, quickly noting upon bringing his chin out of the dirt that it fell not only a foot away from where the lead soldier was standing.
Great, how better could this battle go? Vincent rolled quickly away from his enemy and leaped to his feet, grabbing the sword of a fallen soldier along the way. It wasn't his usual fire-magic sword but it would definitely do. It was either that or...well...die. Which Vincent didn't plan to do yet.
Vincent took another run directly at the large man, and at the last moment he dove to the right, rolling halfway around the enemy on the ground and as he got to his feet in one swift motion he stabbed at his back.

He had Vincent right where he had wanted him. The soldier practically laughed as Vincent came toward him again, and he raised his mace to give him another tackling blow. As the mace came down, however, Vincent had disappeared and suddenly a sharp pain dug into the soldier's backside.
His first instinct was to whirl around and pound Vincent as hard as he could with his mighty fist, forgetting even swinging at the man with weapon in hand.

'Crap again!'
The sword had gotten stuck halfway through the armor and Vincent could already feel the man's body twisting underneath, making it nearly impossible for him to pull out the sword without a battle. There was no time to think though as he saw the soldier's body twisting to punch out at him--he had to act now or be hit again.
Or possibly both. Vincent's hand reached into the belt on his pants and drew a small dagger, pointing it directly at the incoming fist only too close to 'just in time', the large mound of bone and flesh digging straight into the sharp metal blade of the dagger in Vincent's hand, the force of the blow still sending him back a few feet as well.
Though while he was startled, Vincent took the moment to dive into the soldier. With his injured back (and...sword stuck in there...) bogging him down Vincent had more than a clear enough shot at the soldier's exposed neck.
'One helluva stab, that's what it needs...'
And that's what it got, a stab that Vincent threw in deeply but then brought it upwards in a gory slash in the man's throat.

A completely unsurprising attack, then again the typical soldier of the Sumata army generally was easy to fool if you could find your way around them, which Vincent more than obviously did. He let out a disturbing, gurgling of a scream which brought some of the soldiers who'd abandoned to fight Yeligar come back in attempt to save their leader, though at the sight of their leader falling a lot of them (particularly from the fourth wave) decided this was a battle that was best ditched.
The head soldier took his fall and writhed in pain, no fight left in him except the losing one of trying to survive.

Vincent jumped back, allowing the large man to fall, his dying screams of agony no different than ones he'd heard before, nor cared about. The few soldiers that came in vein to his rescue were knocked down briefly while Vincent retrieved his sword and dealt the killing blow to the soldiers who had come to challenge him.
"Don't come back here!!" Vincent yelled after a few that ran off. Once he was certain that there were no more soldiers in his part of the village to handle he sighed, looking around for any sign of life.

Silence fell upon the village as the enemies were silenced, death claiming those that remained on the battlefield. The moment it appeared that things were safe again, the sounds of doors opening and boxes rumbling echoed, citizens (and quite the large number of them, surprisingly) started climbing out of their hiding places. There was still slight panic in the air as families frantically searched out loved ones and the odd mother would scream upon finding her child dead, but things settled within minutes.
The two heroic men who'd come to save them were heavily watched, in shock and in awe--none of them had expected any help, a saviour of any kind from their hell. Coming down to the well, the woman whom they'd rescued before spotted Vincent and with a great smile on her face, she dragged along the man beside her. He'd looked similar to her, taller, older, brown hair but with a facial structure that looked close to her's.
"Look, that's one of them!" she exclaimed happily as they approached Vincent, "we can't tell you just how thankful everyone is that you two came to help us. No one would have even known that this place existed!"

Yeligar was startled by the wall of shield and he was pushed back. The red blade was shoved out, and the blue blade entered. He raised it up making a bubble of water around him.

Vincent responded with a polite smile, sheathing his sword.
"It's just part of our job," he said, shrugging, "and as said, it's not something we couldn't handle. The two of us have been through worse than this yet..."
He wasn't even going to start remembering the mini war out in the Chalybs. That'd happened so long ago, even before he had married Hala. But among the kind words of gratitude he heard, something about what the woman said sparked his interest.
"What do you mean 'no one would have known this place existed'...?"

The surprise bubble had actually blown back a chunk of the soldiers, they hadn't expected Yeligar to respond in the same way they had. The ones that were rendered weaponless made a fleeing run from the scene immediately, leaving most of the fourth wave of soldiers left to deal with Yeligar.
...And honestly, there weren't very many of them left. Some had ditched to help their fallen leader, the remaining handful looked at each other before looking at Yeligar. One shrugged. One dropped his mace and ran away. The other two followed the first guy, and all of the last three of them charged towards Yeligar with their weapons out and pointed at his abdomen.
In the farther part of the village where the well stood, the older man who'd followed the woman out answered Vincent grimly.
"We all left the main cities and towns. A lot of us across the world have done that, instead of living under the rule of the Sumata we formed tiny settlements all over the place and as normal civilians trying to work together to help the armies and create a world that we're all happy to live in. We're typically hidden from the rest of the world, but someone in this village ratted us out and suddenly the army came in to exterminate all of us!"
He balled his fist, gritting his teeth while the woman patted his shoulder and frowned.
"We can't prove he did anything of the sort, Nathan," she spoke, her voice dark which gave the idea that she too wanted to accuse the apparent traitor in the town, but hated to jump to such conclusions without basis.
"It doesn't even matter now--we're all safe now, and we'll probably need to move, but that will be only a minor price to pay than to have everyone killed," she continued, letting herself trail off for a moment before she gave Vincent a startled look and said, "oh, I'm sorry! We're all standing here blathering away and you boys must be tired and aching! Nathan, we have to get them some good food and water..."
The man, apparently named Nathan, nodded in agreement and then excused himself from the group, running to gather a group to help put things back in as orderly as possible and tend to the hero men.
