'Oh...CRAP.'
"Of course not," Vincent laughed loudly as he lifted her up and into his arms, half-turning to set her down to the side. He immediately grabbed the door and whipped it open, leaping out into the road outside. Smiling back at her (having escaped, thank god), he straightened himself up broadly.
"I am a man, milady, and I assure you a good one."

Melanie quickly followed him, latching onto his arm and cuddling close to Vincent.
"I guess I'm coming along, then. I have to make sure you boys are properly taken care of, right?" she giggled, and oh what an evil giggle it was.

"Well that sounds wonderful," Vincent grinned, in the back of his head praying that something would come and take her away at the moment....
No, wait. She was only a woman. She wasn't even married, she wasn't scary! Even if she insisted on being attached to Vincent at the moment, he was going to push along and find Yeligar!
Which was what he did, marching down the road with the young woman hanging on tightly to his arm the whole way until he came across the small healing hut he'd left his friend at. He knocked loudly on the door.
"Hey, Yeligar, sir? You still in there?" he called.

Yeligar walked out with his shirt off. It was in a ball under his arm. He saw Vincent and said "Oh... Hello Vincent. My shirt just got clean, so ready to go?"

Vincent smiled widely as Yeligar stepped out of the hut. His first thought was 'Shirt cleaned, sure...' but really, that was the least of his concerns at the moment.
"No, sir. Remember? We're staying for a bit, because we've been invited to..." his teeth flashed in his big, forced grin, and the entire time his eyes screamed, 'we have trouble'. He reached his arm around Melanie and he tightly squeezed her shoulder, hoping Yeligar would pick up on the hint.

Melanie cuddled close to Vincent as he put his arm around her and she smiled at Yeligar.
"It's good to see you are doing better. You both must stay," she said, oddly clinging to Vincent's shirt a little more than she probably should have been.

"Yes, about that. " Yeligar said, as he pulled out a letter from his pants "We are going to get our asses chewed off. You see, Our orders were to go from Crepusculum Kingdom, and then go to Unda, to get some supplies, and then we were suppose to head out to Vuoto, ASAP. But When we saw the army heading, we decided to investigate. And when we saw them attack your village, our Chivalrous instinct kicked in. We are sorry, but we must be heading. If we survive our mission, we will return, if we do not get suck with a bunch lowly jobs for a real long time, so, we must be heading. We thank you for all of your services."

Melanie's eyes narrowed as she listened to the details of the letter, looking from Yeligar to Vincent. She stared accusingly at him--he hadn't said anything about actually having to leave. And yet she couldn't prove Yeligar wrong, either.
'You bastard...' was all she thought as she let go of him and backed away.
"Fine, I see how it goes. You'll leave and maybe come back, right? At least you were there for us once," she answered quietly.

And here Vincent thought he was going to have to deal with this the hard way, which probably would have turned into him bolting through the trees the moment Melanie had looked away. Needless to say, he was a little more than grateful for Yeligar pulling out the letter to show her.
At the same time, hearing her voice quiet down and watching her out of the corner of his eye as she pulled away was a bit disheartening. He didn't even need to see the look in her eyes to get the idea that she was upset.
Sighing, he smiled over at Melanie just as politely as he ever did.
"I can promise you that, at least. I travel a lot and have developed a bit of a soft spot for Unda," Vincent responded, slipping his hands into his pockets. He couldn't see that sad look on her face, he was a sucker for trying to keep a young lady happy afterall.

She rolled her eyes at Vincent, more in reaction to all the annoyance he had caused only moments before.
And yet that same annoying oaf of a man seemed to be speaking honestly at the moment when he said he'd show back up. She was half-tempted to tell him just how bad of a liar he was to begin with, but rathered she kept her mouth shut at the moment and return the sweet smile as she had done before.
"I should hope you did. You know we all wish you both the very best and hope you both come back," she gave them a slight bow out of respect and backed even further away, waiting to see them off from the village.

"We shall," Vincent smiled gave a nod before turning to Yeligar.
"Shall we, sir?" he said, ready to turn back to the main road.

"Yes, Let's" He said as he walked away. As they were far away from the village, and Yeligar was making sure that no one was following them. "So, Ready to go to Vuoto?"

"Ready as I always am," Vincent grinned as they continued their walk down the road. It was nice to be back travelling, though it had been awhile since he'd done so with another person, let alone Yeligar. Too many years without, that's what.
But it was nice to have the company now, anyway. He'd missed his old friend.

"So, did you get any farther on that girl?" He asked "Seeing how your boots are on the wrong foot, I guess so."

Vincent let out a small cough and straightened his shoulders a bit as they continued down the road. He grinned broadly at Yeligar.
"I don't know what you're talking about, my boots are on the right feet..." he lied, and quite obviously if one were to look down at his feet the toes of his boots were pointing in opposite directions.
"What about you? What happened to you, showing off without a shirt on?" Vincent played back by pushing the hotseat back to Yeligar.
