((ANGELUS, COME HITHER lol))
The air was still very warm and comfortable as the sun started setting over the great sea. Even in Santo-Luce, the sun eventually had to take its rest for the day but only in Santo-Luce was the sky and water at sunset the most beautiful in all of Crepusculum.
Or at least Alexander thought. He'd heard differently about the Twilight Kingdom itself but refused to believe what anyone told him.
This early evening the young king wore his long, loose-fitting white outfit as he stepped barefooted along the sandy beach. He smiled as he watched the waves softly lap at the shore. He almost hoped that something would wash up just to add a little excitement to the night.

*Well... wash up wasn't the word. With a sudden thump Angelus landed from the sky.*
This must be it...
*He looked to his side and saw Alexander.*
Angelus: Hey there, is the invitation still open?

Alexander whipped his head in Angelus' direction as he spoke, temporarily stunned as the man had suddenly appeared.
After this brief pause, however, he smiled as he said, "Yeah, of course. I didn't drop the invitation and expire it, despite...well...what happened back there..."
He remembered shortly after that conversation with Angelus that Trucido and Angelus had had a violent battle with each other in front of the Sumata 13. Angelus had fled, Trucido was angry, and Trucido tried using Angelus as an example to Alexander that day about traitors and how they were apparently to be dealt with.
He sighed and crossed his arms as he looked back out at the sea, the wind softly blowing his hair.
"So...how have things been since then, anyway? I see you definitely found the other hero guys and sent them out to Earth, huh?"

*He nodded looking out at the ocean.*
Angelus: Yeah, I got them to go, but... why are you still with the Sumata? You aren't worried about them backstabbing you?

Alexander's face fell as Angelus mentioned the Sumata. The kindness in his voice never faltered but there was a grim look about the usual cheery king's features as he tried to relay the situation to Angelus.
"You know, my father always tried to tell me things; things I should have listened to but didn't, things I really could have used right about now when I'm in charge of a country and have no clue what to do. Regardless, one of these things was 'never turn your back on Trucido Damnedblood'," Alexander glanced back over at Angelus with a hard stare, "what ultimately caused my father's death wasn't the illness he was afflicted with, but the very act of betraying Trucido and getting punished for it."
He paused a moment just to reach his hands in his back pockets and his face flashed with a slightly distressed look.
"I hadn't really thought of it, I had only heard what had happened between my father and Trucido. I was confused, I didn't understand why the man would tell me one thing but then turn around and act in the very way he warned me against. Then, not too long later I see you and Trucido fight and he makes a point in telling me 'this is what we do to traitors' - my father was a traitor to the Sumata, yet he told me to never be one myself. Everyone's been made an example of in front of me for a reason and it sounds so strange but..." and Alexander took a deep breath as he tried to gather the rest of his thoughts, "...it's almost like my father was trying to show me what would happen if I didn't listen to him. Anytime I never listened, bad things happened, right? The man was going to die, there was no point in him acting like a jerk when he did but he did it anyway. Sometimes I wonder if he was trying to send me some kind of message. And if he was, it meant he was trying to protect me all along... But of course, what does that mean? Was my father truly evil? Did he fully support Trucido's visions for the future? All I know is that I was dumped with a kingdom I have to look after and I can't even decide what is the most important thing to do with Santo-Luce at the moment. And if I can't decide what's the best course of action for my kingdom..."
He gave a painful look as he said it. "I think it's the safest bet for me to stay with the Sumata, to stay tucked in under Trucido's protection. I won't allow my trust in anyone to blind me, so I'll never have to worry about backstabbers, but Trucido...at the moment, I think I need him."
Alexander suddenly whipped his head around, hoping there was no one nearby other than he and Angelus to hear what he had just said. If anyone would hear what was going on, it could have meant big problems for him and Santo-Luce.
"I don't want anyone to die, really. I want to find out what the heroes are all here for, I want to know where they stand, I want to know where Trucido wants to go and why he feels he has to do what he's doing, what role I'm playing in this and where I want to be when it's all over," he sighed, "but what about you, Angelus? You could have played along a bit more - I even tried volunteering you at the meeting to stay on Earth, you could have snuck around sending these guys to Earth after us. What happened? What made you snap like that?"

Angelus: Trucido has plans, as of me... and once I succeed in those plan Trucido will burn in a firing death... *He shook his head.* But... I suppose you are a bit right... all I ever wanted was to feel like a human, but no matter how I tried to hide it I knew I wasn't a human and the urge to kill was still in me... so I joined the Sumata thinking it would be easier just to give in, I was wrong, the Sumata treated me no different and I disagree with his plans.
*He looked at Alexander.*
Angelus: Like I said, people have a right to live, so why do we have the rights to stand in their way and govern their lives?

"Hmm. Understandable, but you know, Angelus, you look very much like a human to me," a smile played a little at Alexander's lips as he said this to the other man, "you can be a bit of a jerk at times and that's what makes you so irritable to deal with at times, but well...I know I've been a bit of a jerk, too."
The young king suddenly looked a bit more confident, with a smile back on his face. "But you also know that we can't give in. It did you no good, and it sure isn't doing me any good, either. I was just lucky that I had a few people to help open up my eyes a bit before things got bad on my end, and gave me the motivation to actually get to work doing my job right as a king. Here's hoping that I'll be able to steer us in the right direction."
He folded his arms again, the smile fading slightly again as he turned serious once more as he said, "So, if you don't mind me asking, what is your plan? I'm going to be working on doing what I feel is best for Santo-Luce, and at the moment until I know what's going on and know what kind of decision I want to make in where Santo-Luce stands in the world and in this war, I'm staying protected under the Sumata. I'm going to be going out to find Trucido and talk with him and try to find out what exactly is going on and why I'm needed to be part of his plans, and why we apparently have to kill people in order to do this. I don't want to fight, Angelus, I've never liked fighting. I know I'll have to, we'll all have to do something we don't want to do, but I'm really hoping there's some way we can work around it."

Angelus: A human... *Angelus said to himself.*
How could he think I look like a human?
Angelus: You're going to talk to Trucido? Be careful, I'm sure the only person he plans to let live is that girl, Lilith. But I have to warn you, I'm helping the heroes now and you might get caught in the way of my blade.

Alexander nodded.
"Thanks for the warning, but I think I'll be alright yet as long as Trucido doesn't suspect anything," Alexander gave his trademark stupid grin, "I walk along here like I don't know what's going on anyway, everything seems brand new to me. As long as I keep that up on the outside I'm sure he and I will be on pretty good terms for awhile. As for you and me..."
Alexander couldn't help but look around the area again quickly. The only problem he could see with his plan was the paranoia that just started showing up - if he let it get to him, the feeling that someone was constantly watching him, that would screw up any and all of his plans.
"Well, we'll see how you and I work out. You already know I won't fight if I can avoid it, and that goes for you and any of these heroes...I don't want to attack anyone if I'm uncertain if they could be my real allies, you know? You just said some things to us all when you fought Trucido that made me think...about us all just being used...I have to go learn who's my friend and who isn't, right?"
The wind blew softly, but had a strange air about it, then. Alexander smiled at Angelus, the first of many people that Alexander had to fully evaluate. At the moment, it appeared to Alexander that Angelus was, and always had been, of purely good blood; the man was a human who apparently felt he wasn't human for an unidentified reason besides an apparent overwhelming urge to kill, and he had slipped into the Sumata trying to believe that he was evil. But in the end, this 'evil' man's conscience spoke out to him and made him act to protect the beings on Earth, to protect the defenceless humans. That very much was clear to Alexander, and now he had to look over Trucido and figure out where Trucido stood as well. The humans weren't evil, Alexander had paid enough attention to see that they were no different than he and Angelus standing here at this moment.

Angelus: Right.
*He turned around and started walking.*
Angelus: I saw a bar not to far from here. I'm getting a drink, you can come if you want.
*That was Angelus's way of inviting someone to get a drink with him.

Alexander blinked at Angelus' sudden leave. However, at what he figured was the slightest hint of an invitation for company, Alexander grinned widely as he started tagging along.
"Haha, sure, what's the worst that could happen? I'm not doing anything really interesting here for the rest of the night anyway..."
And he followed Angelus, a man who was starting to desperately hope he could call a friend now, and again in the future.

*Angelus stopped in thought.*
What's the worst that can happen? I don't even want to know...
*Angelus pushed open the doors to the bar, it was full of lively music, drunks and smoke. He walked up to the bar and sat down.*
Bartender: What will you be having? *He asked looking at Angelus, not noticing Alexander just yet.*
*Angelus thought for a moment.*
Angelus: Milk... no, I'll go wild tonight... make it chocolate milk. *The dark eyed 'monster' to afraid to drink anything with alcohol.*
Bartender:.... alright... *He said then looked at Alexander with slight shock.* And you, your majesty?

Alexander on the other hand wasn't afraid of alcohol. Then again, one had to be able to have a distinct taste for such things in order to please some of the ladies - all about mingling and doing the charming thing.
Regardless, Alexander looked over at Angelus with slightly wide eyes as he sat down and heard what the other man had to order. When the bartender asked, Alexander paused for a moment before he looked up at the man with a cheerful smile.
"Nice, I want what he's having!" he laughed. It'd been a long time since he'd ordered milk of any kind in a bar.
Or...rather, the first. Nice change, though.
"...And I want both on my tab," Alexander quickly added in at that moment with a smile, "I do expect that you'll be charging me for it."

*The bartender blinked.*
Bartender: Well.... alright.... *He said quickly turning and getting their drinks. A minute later he put to cups of chocolate milk down, Angelus picked it up and sipped it.*
*He shook his head a bit.*
Angelus: That's... oddly strong. *What he didn't know was... the chocolate milk here was mixed with a small bit of alcohol.* Very... strong...
*He started to drink the cup... not knowing what exactly he was drinking.*

Alexander gladly took the cup of chocolate milk set in front of him and took a long, slow sip out of it. He smiled and relaxed in his chair with a sigh.
"Wow, this is great. I wouldn't have thought it, but you've actually got awesome taste, Angelus," of course, Alexander never knew that Angelus wasn't a drinker, so he wouldn't have bothered to even question the odd alcoholic taste. If anything, Alexander thought that the sneaking of the ounce of alcohol (was this vodka?) in such a child-like drink was something that added just a touch of class.
It was wonderful, so immature but mature at the same time - showing the world (and the ladies) that he was a real man and at the same time highlighting the fact that he was still so full of youth.
Alexander looked over at Angelus with a great smile in respect, then. 'My god...the man's a genius!'
