Michael left Miri behind yes, but after hearing about Alex and his current status he had to see for himself. He spent the next few weeks becoming a Santo-Luce citizen, building himself a name and identity. No one knew him very well so he could go under his name of 'Michael Bayloh'. He entered the castle as a training guard, hoping to get a position in the castle so he could find Alex. In the meantime he had to present himself to the King to prove himself worthy of a position. Standing in the hall he waited for the guard to signal him in, once the signal came he walked into the throne room. Using the Santo-Luce customs he bowed accordingly.
"Your majesty."

Alexander was a little on edge. Holmes had warned him recently to watch who he allowed into the castle and not. With this in mind, Alexander bit his lip and mentally groaned as he heard one of his guards come in and inform him of a man wishing to be part of the royal guard. As if he wasn't stressed enough as it was...
He allowed it anyway. Alexander took his spot on his throne and stole a quick glance to Holmes who immediately appeared by his side.
"Keep your wits about you, sire," he spoke in a whisper, "my advice to you is to be wary should he have connections with our military...more our higher-ups than anything."
"What do you mean?" Alexander asked, trying to keep his voice as quiet as Holmes', "why the superiors?"
Holmes quickly shook his head as one of the generals entered the room, walking past and giving the king and his royal advisor a forced smile before parading out of the room, scoffing at Michael as he was let in.
"Don't worry about it, your highness. Just read his motives carefully," Holmes' voice then picked up as Michael stepped forward. He took a quick bow to Alexander and said, "I will return soon, if you don't mind, sire."
Alexander nodded and waved Holmes off. The spotlight was on, now he had to deal with this himself.
"Greetings, sir," Alexander greeted as he rose to his feet, "the chunky loaf of a general tells me something about you applying for a position as a royal guard. Is that correct, Mr...uh...what do they call you, again?"
Well, he hoped he didn't sound too stupid. He saw general Brahl snicker out in the hall, though.

"Bayloh, Michael Bayloh." he stood from his bowing position. "And yes, I do wish to offer my services as a castle guardsmen."
