"Ok, It is not hard. Now, what do you think darkness is?" He said, as he stuck out his sword.

What did she think darkness was? She didn't know, she didn't have a real definition...
"An impending feeling of doom lurking behind every corner? The distortion of one's sanity because they wander aimlessly in a never-ending maze, simply because they cannot see, nor understand the darkness around them? Hopelessness creeping all over you?" Lana answered, raising an eyebrow, "other than that, just black. Dark, Ludro. Dark!"

"... Why don't you focus on the first part of that statement." He said, "Now, find that within your soul. Find a memory involved in darkness, and not on because it was in the night."

"A memory involved in darkness, huh?"
What memory could she possibly have that involved being plunged into a seemingly never-ending darkness? The only thing she really had was...
Being first brought to Nerezza. She started as a child of Santo-Luce after all. The first step was being left all alone in the world, feeling that void in her heart, her parents leaving her there in the city centre. She was taken by Rous and for the longest time in her life she felt trapped, stuck under his thumb and without a single hope in hell of escaping except through death itself.
And even then, death didn't come. To her, those were the worst days of her life, her true brush with the darkness of the world.
Was it enough, though?
"What do I do when I have this memory?" was all she asked next.

"Ok, if you have a strong memory, think hardly about that memory, and then channel it though your mind and then, into your hands, and then let it go into your sword." He said.

Lana was still, and silent for another long moment as she stared at Ludro, her sword clutched tightly in her hand.
"..........You lost me at 'channel it through your mind'. How the hell do I channel something through my mind, let alone get it through my body to my weapon?"
She wasn't trying to be difficult, she just...didn't understand magic and its usage. AT ALL.

"Ok, think about how your felt, and then think that feeling into your hand, how did your hands react like that memory?" He asked.

How did she feel? Oh, she remembered how she felt alright. Scared, alone, lost. The usual "I'm trapped in darkness" package.
How did this work, then? Obviously this magic was supposed to hurt her enemies, so was it these thoughts and feelings that the sword was to absorb? Was she supposed to make her enemies feel that torment and hurt?
....This was really effing stupid.
Lana gave her sword one more twirl, focusing on the memories. She readied herself, feeling something slowly rise inside of her...and lunged towards Ludro again as she saw the faint flash of a strange, purple aura form around her sword. So that was how you did it? It was hard, and awkward, she wasn't used to...well, using strong feelings and so much focus to attack something.
And just as she went to slash the sword lost its power, the again magic-less blade coming down at Ludro's head.
"MOTHERF***ER!!" Lana shrieked at the top of her lungs, obviously noticing this horrible mistake.

"OUCH! What did I do?" He asked her as he rubbed his head. "Anyways, you got a faint aura. Now if you want to make it permanent, you need to try do invest most of that memory into that sword, but you need the strongest part of the memory inside you head, so that you and only you can wield it as powerful as you can get it. Lets try again.

Lana twitched annoyedly.
"What do you mean what did you do?! You were the one who told me to attack with a magic sword, dammit!" she responded angrily as she prepared herself again. Strongest part of the memory? For god's sake, what in the hell part of her memories were the strongest?
Coming at him again, Lana focused even more, particularly one of the points in her life where she looked Rous in the eyes as he beat her down and the only thing she could think at that very moment was 'this is worse than death itself...'
Her sword came up, the similar purple spark appeared again, and as Lana followed through with her swing towards Ludro this time it stayed, creating a large, booming ball of energy that exploded as it came in contact with Ludro.

Ludro was propelled to the ground from the blast. "... I never said for you to attack me. That hurts!" He yelled, looking at her. He held out his hands, sending his cards at her. Once they made contact, Her memories returned to her.

Lana rolled her eyes as she said, "Yeah? Well, I want to hit something! I'm angry!"
She sheathed her sword immediately after her memories were returned to her, however. She calmed down signifcantly and stared at Ludro, though her defenses were still up as she bit her lip and rested her hands on her hips.
"So what? You gonna make fun of me now? Rub my weakness in my face? Do it, I know you want to."

"Why would I make fun of you?" He asked, "Because you kissed a boy? Because you like someone? Dear, you need to not be so scared around me."

"I'm. not. scared!" Lana snarled, "but it is something that I would have rathered no one to know about. I've had nothing for the past ten years of my life, Ludro. It bothers me to have something of my own, something that brings me so close to a happiness I lost, and for the whole world to know about it."
She flared, but couldn't hide the pain in her eyes as she added, "When they know what I have that makes me happy, they'll take it away. And there's no f***ing way I'm letting anyone take it away on me..."

"Lana, I am going to even up the cards." He said, as he shuffle his cards. "I too have somethings that people can take away, and It is something that I care about deeply. I have been guarding my secrets for as long as you have lived. Lana, you are my sister."
