((It's ME AGAIN with my...long posts...here's Vincent/Hala but uh...I'm not expecting anyone to reply to this. I mean, if you do, that's great, but uh...it could be awkward. Especially if you write it in that you marched in two minutes after the ending.))
It was quiet for the first time in awhile. For the past month silence had been scarce in Hala's home, especially with Andy Jammer coming in and out of it.
She smiled, though. He and Princess Kara were good kids, and she was proud of her daughter for meeting and trusting them like she did. And tonight all three of them were gone to the ball, leaving her to relax in peaceful silence at home unless someone came in through the front door.
"Good evening, gorgeous!"
Hala thought too soon as the front door creaked open and Vincent stuck his head in, his big, toothy grin spread across his face. He slipped in quickly, his arms behind him and he strode over to Hala who greeted him with a cross look and crossed arms. He pulled out from behind him a big bouquet of wild flowers and kissed her on the cheek.
"And what's this for?" Hala asked with a sigh as she took the flowers and went to put them in water. Vincent followed her like an eager puppy and responded, "For the most beautiful woman in the world who's at home all alone..."
He wrapped his arms around her waist, letting out a seductive growl. She rolled her eyes and smacked his hands away. Vincent sighed frustratedly.
"What is it? Come on, I thought you'd have been happy that I was back at home, even after you were atrociously pissed about it," he said while rubbing his eyes. Hala placed the flowers on the table and shook her head.
"It's not that, it's just...you don't know how weird this is for me. I've been alone for so many years in my life, thinking the one man I'll ever love in my life is gone forever and I've got to somehow cope with that, only to find that he's been alive the whole time," Vincent opened his mouth but Hala cut him off as she continued, "for any good reason you feel you have or not, I'm not saying it was stupid what you did, it's just those were times where I needed you but felt punished by the gods because I couldn't have you. I couldn't have that comfort and love that I thought I worked so hard for."
Vincent frowned, he hated listening to her talk like that. "Baby, the reason why I'm not dead is because those gods of yours love you so much. I'm almost jealous of them sometimes because I'm afraid if they could be humans here with us, you'd leave me for them in a heartbeat, you're so beautiful," he slowly made his way back towards her and put his arms around her again. She shook her head again.
"Don't start that," she said but he didn't seem to listen.
"I'm serious, you've got the body to attract anything you want. You remember those times when I'd go to leave on a mission? And I'd head for the front door and you'd run ahead and lock it? I'd be angry at first but when you turned to face me and I saw your long hair gently fall over your shoulders, your half-bare shoulders because you'd have gone and undone a couple of those buttons there on the front, right over your chest..." and as he said this, he reached up and undid the very ones he remembered so well. Hala let out a rattled, heavy breath before pushing him off of her and buttoning herself up again.
"I can't do that," Hala said sharply. Vincent merely walked over to the door, locking it and closing the shutters on the windows. He turned back to Hala, his eyes boring into hers. He stepped slowly towards her, slipping his heavy captain's coat off and tossing it off to the side. She could have argued, she should be arguing.
Her voice failed her. As he got up close to her, she backed away, him following until she was up against the wall. Hala's breathing became heavier as he pushed up close against her, his hand caressing her cheek.
"Forget that idiot husband of yours. He'll never know I was here," Vincent said in between hot kisses he smothered all over her neck, which she arched in surrender, closing her eyes and allowing herself to enjoy the moment.
A moment that was short-lived, of course, as he suddenly lifted her off of the floor with a yelp, and threw her over his back. With that, he turned and carried her off into their bedroom. They had thirteen years to catch up on...
