Jasmine sat around by the giant lake. She liked watching the water sparkle, and something about the general atmosphere just always made her feel so good.
As she relaxed, she lay down and closed her eyes, enjoying the peace and quiet of day...

" Are you Jasmine Loque?" A man with an eye patch asked her. He had a scythe out and he was leaning against it, while he asked her.

As if breaking the silence and her concentration wasn't enough, when Jasmine opened her eyes the first thing she saw was a one-eyed man and a scythe. She leaped to her feet, nearly falling over backwards as she did so, and screamed. Screamed so the whole world could hear her!

"Ow" Yeligar said as he wiped his ear out. "No, I am not here to hurt you. I am here to ask you about Andy." Yeligar kept rubbing his ear and he started to able to hear again.

Jasmine stopped screaming but still shook violently, with big deep breaths. She placed a hand on her chest and tried to calm herself down as she asked, "A-A-Andy? W-what about him? Who are you?"

"I am Yeligar Maelstrom. I am the one who brought Andy here to our world." Yeligar said "I was checking up and seeing how he was adjusting to here"

"Yeligar Maelstrom......oh, oh he's mentioned a Yeligar once to me," Jasmine started, having calmed herself down significantly by now, "he says he came from Ca...California..."
She took a deep breath and smiled softly as she said, "As for adjusting here, sir, I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure. I have no clue of the place he's come from, but I can tell you that he is a good warrior, and I've grown to trust him. I hope he trusts me as I've offered my magical services and abilities to his cause. He saved my life, sir, and is seemingly fearless. I will do whatever it is in my power to help him."

"Ah, I was making sure that Andy was not getting too many wounds. But I can tell that you can heal any wounds that may be inflicted on him." Yeligar said.

Jasmine smiled sheepishly, and rubbed her hands together as she responded, "Well, you're right. He's not going to be getting too badly injured with me around, and I promise that...but I worry about him sometimes because he..." she felt bad for voicing it, really, but if she didn't it would only bother her more, "...he seems to like to take care of things by himself. He's stubborn, and I worry a lot, and sometimes I end up stepping in on him and he doesn't really like that because he, well, feels he can look after things himself."
She looked over the lake and the scene calmed her. So shiny, and she loved the view of it, it helped her think.
"I-it's just hard to know when I should help him and when I shouldn't, so I've been making myself hold back until he says he needs help...I guess I'm afraid he'll be too stubborn to never say anything and I'll end up watching him destroy himself...and I don't want that because I told him he has to trust me because I trust him..."

"Then you will need to travel with him. If he is stubborn as you said as he is, then it will be up to you to save him from himself." Yeligar said.

"Save him from himself...?"
She was quiet for a long while as she thought about everything she had just said, what Yeligar responded with, and what she personally believed.
Jasmine believed the way to be truly fearless in even the darkest times was to truly believe in the ability of a warrior--that that person would stop at nothing to set things right, to win a battle, to save the innocent, the weak, the injured...
She also believed that the only way she were able to believe in a warrior would be if they, too, believed in her abilities, to protect and aid the warrior at their side. It was something her mother had come up with back when she had started her magic training because she was terrified of the world...and there were rumors that terrible things were happening...
But even in dark times, Jasmine was still as light-hearted as any girl her age should have been, and it was her mother's teachings that set her that way. It was hard right now because she had just started, but the more she worked with Andy and the more she got to know him, the less scared she was slowly becoming...
"Mr. Yeligar...Andy says he has to save the world. I don't know or quite understand the specifics of all of...everything that's going on, but...he's doing it for a good cause. He really is a good person," Jasmine said, "and I'm going to train much harder myself because...I don't want to see him fall. I'm going to help him, no matter what!"

"That is good that you are train harder, to help Andy." Yeligar said "Andy has true power inside, but I do not know if can use it to the full extent. He is new to this world, and he is discovering his power, but if he can not control he may hurt himself with it."

Jasmine's eyes widened as Yeligar mentioned this. "H-hurt himself with it? How do you mean? Can I prevent it?"
It was funny how she hadn't known Andy for all that long, and somehow it was like she was always worrying about him, and she seemed to be developing some kind of feeling that obliged her to take care of or look out for him. As she went on, her eyes showed it even more.

"He won't, if you watch him." Yeligar said "You are going to be his healer, and his guide him. I have faith in you and Andy." Yeligar said. He turned and walked away.

Jasmine sat and watched the lake again after Yeligar departed. She was Andy's healer, guide...and friend.
And someone believed in the both of them. Taking this in mind, she sighed deeply, finally coming to terms that there was something about Andy, something that made her want to push harder to look out for him.
She slowly rose to her feet and as she turned to leave the lake, she said, almost hoping that some higher power in the world could hear it and was counting on it,
"I'll do what I have to do...for him..."
