[This good, Volk?]
On yet another quest to avoid her mother, Jasmine went on a little journey up the mountains to search for herbs and study whatever flora that could be found.
It was nice, having a little time to herself. Gave her time to think about...things...
She grabbed whatever she could uproot from the ground, anything that could help make medicines and the like, and stuck it in her bag.

"Now, where are you running off to?" Xïsa asked her "I came down here to visit you. why are you running away?"

Jasmine jumped. Not only was she not expecting anyone to have followed her, but the voice speaking to her was one that she didn't think she cared for. It wasn't her mother, it wasn't Kara, and it wasn't Andy.
Jasmine quickly turned to face Xisa--a face she barely remembered, but one that she knew she had to disappear from, and fast. She knew that Kara and Andy were back down the mountain, so she had to try to find a way out of this herself. Scary, it was. A sage couldn't fight, at least not by normal methods. She stared at Xisa and tried to keep herself calm--this was no time to panic.
"...I'm not running away, and you're not here to 'visit' me, sir. I've barely met you," she answered him quietly.

"Ah, but, Now you have met me, I would like to meet that Andy you are always hanging around with, and I think the best way for me to do that is with your blood." He said as he pulled out his weapon. "Now,I would prefer for you to die fighting."

Jasmine took a step back.
"You aren't going to meet him that way...you won't get to him at all!" she cried. She brought up a lighted shield around her and whipped out one of her spellbooks--there had to be something in there to help her right now.
She'd do anything that she felt she had to, but she felt she had to protect Andy.

"Oh, Once he sees that you are dead, then he is going to come and hunt me down, but I will have a trap, laid out for him, and that will be his death, and one of the few strings left that is saving this world and the other." He said as he looked at the shield. "... This is not going to stop me." He slammed his sword at the shield and it shatter instantly.

Those were horrendous thoughts--this was a really terrifying man, and Jasmine knew only too well (and the more horrifying thing about it was that she was sure he knew, too) that she couldn't actually fight him away. The very best she had was defensive tactics until someone who could fight came for her, but her friends were too far away to even know of the peril she was in at the moment.
Her shield shattered and with it the calmness she had held up faltered as well. She gave a shriek and as she backed away yet, something from the book she held in her hands caught her eye.
'I have to get away...I have to get back to Andy and Kara...'
Without putting much more thought into it, she conjured up the spell that was sitting on the open page in her book, which brought up a strong gust of wind that sent dust and dirt flying into Xisa's face. Jasmine slammed the book shut, brought up another shield, and bolted down the mountain trail as fast as she could, screaming behind her, "He won't find me dead--you'd have to catch me first!!!"
He did say he wanted her to die fighting, right? Right now she only had to worry about dying...you know, only.

Xïsa jumped on the path in front of her. His eyes were shut from the debris from Jas's attack. He placed a cloth over his eyes. "As a warrior, you must to be able to find you enemy with more than one sense. He sniffed the air and he picked up Jas's scent. "Yon can not run from me." He swung his sword again.

'No...no!'
Jasmine let out an ear-piercing scream which echoed throughout the mountain. No doubt that if her friends or anyone were outside, they'd hear it, yet the problem would be finding her in time. She tried to leap out of the way of the swinging sword, the new shield she had just brought up had been destroyed already, too.
Not to mention she was starting to panic, which meant she was running out of options. Jasmine then remembered a simple move she had practiced and practically mastered from a long time ago. It certainly wasn't much, but...
She swung her arm out, flipped her hand over, and following the motion, Xisa flipped, too. Jasmine then made a terribly risky decision by making a run for it right passed Xisa, all the while screaming, "Andy!!!"

Xïsa was surprise that a girl her size could flip him. He turn and ran for her. As he ran, he got closer and closer, and then he was so close that he could grab her, but the wanted her blood all over the place so he raised his blade and swung down.

When Xisa gave chase, Jasmine ran faster. She had begun running so fast that she couldn't even feel her legs anymore, and as she went further down the mountain she started slipping on rocks and other rough patches of dirt that easily gave way from the force of her weight.
She could feel him coming up behind her, and she pleaded for her body to run faster yet, but it was already at its limit. She couldn't believe that she had come up here by herself, and if no one heard her scream the first time, they wouldn't hear her now because she was already so out of breath that she couldn't call out anymore.
'Andy...!' was the only thing she thought as her body gave way, just as Xisa raised his sword, and she took a spiraling crash to the ground conveniently in front of him.

A 'CLANG!' and a burst of flames was the result of an immediate attack on Xisa--a mighty sword-wielder just barely blocked the killing blow.
Xisa was roughly pushed backwards and there stood between him and Jasmine was a rather unique man. He had grey eyes, tanned skin, bright blond hair, and...was dressed in a black pirate captain's coat. He held his sword, burning brightly with a magnificent fire, at the ready and awaiting any sudden movement from Xisa.
"Hey, buddy. You're scaring the little lady, methinks," he said calmly, and stared ahead at Xisa, oddly with a smile on his face.

"What would an Ingusian want to do with a Crepusculumian?" Xïsa asked "No matter, I could use a good fight." He remove the blind and then his sword glow with an eerie power around it.

Jasmine slowly lifted herself up, noticing immediately the few drops of red on the ground. Her body hurt all over, but nearly as much as her head which, when she felt it, appeared to be bleeding somewhere. Dirt was in her face, and she could feel scratches--there was a wound just above her top lip that some rocks had stuck into.
She looked up at the man, though she could only see his backside. Regardless, she could tell it wasn't Andy, and it most definitely wasn't Kara. Whoever it was, though, he was obviously there to help her and with that in mind, she forced herself painfully up to help aid the man in his battle. With a weak wave of her hand, she silently brought up a barrier around him that would take whatever damage was directed to the man.

"Call me a good samaritan, I was in the area when I heard a troubled yelp," the man replied, and he took a step back just as Jasmine produced the barrier. He couldn't help but smile even more.
"Aha--I have a sage on my side, it seems. I don't think the Crepusculumian wants anything to do with you, really--what do you want to do with her?"
Vincent's eyes were unchanging; he wasn't scared of Xisa in the least, he had a few tricks up his sleeve. And gold. Gold was good to have sometimes.
