Ragnum sat down on the dark side of the mountain and opened his bag for a drink of water and a piece bread and looked around then went to look off the edge and took a bite out of his bread.

"About a month ago or so, I would have told you you could head to the foot of the mountain and get a much better meal from the sweetest couple of ladies in the world, but one is no longer with us and the other had to follow her heart and left," the deep voice of another man spoke from behind Ragnum. The built image of Vincent drew nearer revealing his tanned skin, blond hair, one grey eye (the other, dead one had a glazed-over look to it), a tight, black, sleeveless top that was draped over with a long black cape.
He took a cautious step forward and pointed down the mountain to where a pile of rubble lay far away on the ground.
"It was there, the little house. You'd have been treated better than a king, they would feed you, give you a place to rest, even wash your clothes--all for free, if you showed a little kindness to them."

"No point in fighting me, son, I'm not here to fight you," Vincent smiled as he crossed his arms, "and who I am isn't so much important as I don't stay in one place for too long for you to remember it, anyway."
Vincent rested his back against the mountain wall and sighed. Always had to be difficult...
"Though I can tell you I was very close with the woman who lived in that house. She was a beautiful woman, and the other one who lived there with her was her daughter. They were sages, very spiritual people, and had many connections. A couple of their connections however are trouble-making men, the woman's husband and the girl's close male friend. Not that they are bad people, it's just that some of these royals from the other countries aren't the biggest fans of these two men..."
His face turned incredibly sombre as he stared down at the home and continued, "...one of the royals snapped and took their personal problems with the husband out on those two innocent women in that house. Only one--the daughter--escaped and since then she's left with the other man, her close friend very much to her father's dismay. It made him angry. So angry he never once stopped to think that perhaps he was becoming jealous that he was no longer seen as the most important man in his daughter's life...and the other man was."
Vincent looked back up Ragnum and tilted his head, giving a small shrug.
"That's the story. Anything else?"

Vincent's eyebrows raised as he looked Ragnum over.
"That so, son?" Vincent started, ignoring Ragnum's request to not be called 'son' earlier, "then you look mighty fine for a man of your age, you look no older than thirty, really. I'm nearly fourty years old and wish I could be as youthful looking as you. As for my name, I don't want you to remember my name..."
He bit his lip. He couldn't help the memories of Hala coming to his mind...
"Is it that much of a secret?" Hala was young, only around eighteen and rested her head on the table across from the stubborn, tanned man, grinning mischievously at him. Half an hour of this same argument had happened every day since he'd shown up on her doorstep.
Every day she'd ask him where he came from, and who he was.
And every day for the past three days he tried to evade the question.
"It's not like you need to remember it anyway, I'm just passing through, lady," he finally snapped, raising an eyebrow at her. This seemed to amuse her, a grin spread across her thin lips as she rose from her seat.
"Alright then," she giggled, "if you're going to be like that, then I guess I shall call you Mr. Nameless..."
She always told him he was too closed-off from people, even travelling strangers. He did it to avoid conflict and keep his enemies from knowing too much. However looking down at the ruined house and seeing there was nothing left to protect, nothing to hide...
"The nearest town is only a fifteen minute walk away from here. If you look, you see that giant castle over there? It's on your way to that very castle. You could ask anyone in that town about the family that lived in that house by the lake there and they could tell you all sorts of things about those wonderful women," he paused for only a moment, "and...sorry about that. My name is Vincent, by the way. Vincent will do, or even Mr. Loque. Anything in particular you are going to the town for? If you need any help, I could definitely assist."
Somewhere he hoped Hala would be proud of him. He'd only ever do this for her.

Oddly how satisfying it felt for Vincent to not get so defensive and for the man to react to him gratefully like he was. Giving a polite smile he took Ragnum's hand and gave it a firm shake.
"Of course, but you know who to look for if you do need anything, Mr...what do I call you?"

"Not a problem," Vincent responded before he watched the young man disappear down the mountainside.
'Ragnum, eh? I'll be remembering that...'
But Vincent was only too curious. He sat still, watching from the mountain as the man started his journey towards the little town not too far away. Once he was safe distance ahead, Vincent also made to move towards the very same town.
As said, he was curious. With the hero group on Earth, Vincent had only a little to do on his own until they came back--meeting and learning about interesting people was one thing he could, though.

Ragnum ran down the mountain with a odd feeling not caring to look back he ran after all he only had fifteen minutes.

Vincent casually followed only minutes behind Ragnum--he knew the path only too well so he did not need to rush to catch up to the younger man, but he would have to get a good view of what Ragnum was up to when he entered the town. That would be when the fun began, having to keep an eye on him as well as keep hidden from his view.

Ragnum flew though the town turned a corner and found a man and handed him a letter, then looked around and left the place and walked into the inn, got a room then walked out and looked at the shade mountains as the man who he gave the letter too disappeared over the mountains.

Vincent watched from around the corner, trying to keep himself hidden from Ragnum's view.
'Now what kind of exchange could possibly be going on there? He's being awfully secretive...'
Vincent's thoughts were cut short as Ragnum darted off towards the inn. He was tempted to follow the man who had the letter, curious to know of its contents. But rather, he followed Ragnum again toward the inn. If anything, there was a chance he could find out from Ragnum himself what the letter would have said.
Maybe, anyway.
Vincent approached the inn just as the door opened and Ragnum stepped out. Vincent fell backwards, totally not expecting him--what kind of a guy got a room for himself and then NOT retire to it right away?!
"Well, this could be interesting..." was all he said.
