"Here, take this, it should help. A good friend told me these help to renew strength. You put the leaves under your tongue." Kara handed a small bag filled with herbs to Faeylinn. Then her eyes quickly averted away when she heard the desperate cries of several soldiers as they began to fall into the small portals. Eight small whips of water lashed out to grab at the flailing men, seizing their wrists and pulling them out of their plummet.

Faey took the bag gratefully and pulled out a few leaves, carefully placing them under her tongue. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the building. Half a minute later her eyes shot open. Wow, that stuff really works! She stuffed the bag into the pocket of her pants and examined the battlefield- thankfully there seemed to be not many injuries- and only minor ones where there were. She glanced up at the building where she'd been hiding earlier before Tempest showed up, and then climbed up to the roof.
Hidden there was the sword Mark had given her to use until she found her own sword. So far she still had only this, but it was a good blade, and she climbed back down the building with it. After a quick glance around she attacked the nearest anti-matter soldier.

"Not bad, Tempest." Yeligar said as looked around, and lowered his lance. "Check the area for any citizen still trapped in this area. I will try to drive them form this area, so you can any citizen out of here." He ran towards the gate, his lance still swirling with wind.

"Sure thing!" Tempest started walking around, looking for anyone to help. Seeing nobody outside, he decided to check all the houses. Sure enough, there were people hiding. He came to one house that had it's entrance blocked by rubble. "Hello," he called out, "any body in there?!" He heard screams, then a cry of help. Tempest stepped back, trying to find a way to move the rubble. "Alright," he called, "get away from the doorway!" He decided to use reverse lightning to clear away the rubble. (Lightning comes from the ground. If you didn't know that, it's pretty cool. Here's a link that explains it. www.cbs3springfield.com/weather/interact/faqs/7253131.html ) From people that had traveled to the other world connected to theirs, he heard that the entire world had nothing but reverse lightning. Tempest shook his head at the weird thought, then swiftly brought his hand up. The rubble was shot into the air and aside.

In the courtyard just inside the city gate, the ground began to shake. As the rumbling grew more and more intense, the ground began to crack. A giant lavender colored flower rose out of the ground. It twisted and turned gracefully until it came to rest at an angle to the ground. The flower opened, revealing an energetic and prepared Malice, sitting in the center. The flower removed itself from its stem and, using its long, thick, vines, it began walking across the city. Malice sat comfortably, firing off a spell or two when someone came too close or when someone on the ground was looking particularly vulnerable. Malice cackled as he encased and entire battalion of Nachtundtag soldiers in amber.

After a while, Xïsa gripped his sword, and swung, and started to break building from the bottom up, sending large chucks all over the place, destroying other buildings, and cracking the wall protecting the city from the rest of the soldiers. He walked, and slashed his way though the city.

Kara almost lost her balance at the shaking of the earth. Her eyes widened at the site of the giant plant coming towards her. Well now, that needed to be stopped! With a lurch of energy she spun her arms around to grab at a plentiful amount of water. She whipped it around one of the flowers vines it walked on and quickly thickened it into ice. Kara nervously licked at dry lips, the air was steadily losing it's moisture.

The flower lurched, forcing Malice forward on his seat. He looked around, furious, "How dare you touch my beautiful steed!" Malice stood, focusing his energy, he released a spell towards Kara. "Bio!" A cloud of dark green and black mist encircled the girl, ready to strike.

From inside the cloud Kara smiled up at Malice. "That's your steed? I've seen more beautiful animals in mud pits!" So maybe listening to Andy's trash talk all the time payed off a little. She needed time to think of a way to get out of this.

Malice regained his composure. "Silly little girl..." he said. "Drown in venom!" The dark cloud around Kara collapsed inward.

There it went. With a sharp intake of air Kara pulled all the water she could find in the immediate vacinity into an extremely small ball around her. She floated inches off the ground inside of it and watched as the poisonous air tried to penetrate the tiny bubble.

Malice smirked. This girl was going to be fun. Malice knew exactly what to do with water users. He sat back down and decided to wait for Kara's next move.

Kara made a shaky breath inside the bubble. This was going to be extremely difficult now that she'd pretty much trapped herself in there. She closed her eyes and tried to concentrate.
"It is our duty, to always follow the path of justice. For ourselves and our people, we must always do the right thing. That's the price of being royalty." Dearest Cousin...that's what you taught me all those years ago...
Kara opened her eyes with renewed determination as the bubble of water slowly expanded, building upon itself. Once she had enough room, Kara brought her hands together and clasped hard. The water crackled and squeeked as it turned to ice. Taking a deep breath in she finally pushed outward and shattered the bubble. Lurching quickly through the venomous clouds, she held tightly onto her breath as sharp icicles flew in her wake.

The girl Tempest had first seen in Ghiacho didn't look too well. After clearing the last of the rubble from the house opening, he instructed the civilians to get out and avoid soldiers. He turned back to Kara and Malice. "Oh... Mr. Malice, why did you turn away?" he said under his breath. He looked at Kara, hoping she would see him through the toxic cloud. "Please cover your ears," he shouted, "the pressure is going to be great!"
Tempest raised his hands to the sky. The clouds parted to let a small collumn of air downward. He swiftly dropped his hands and the air rushed down on Kara. He tried slow the air down so as not to shatter the icicles. He did at least see the poisonous cloud disperse. Tempest staggered a bit. Darn, I have to stop summoning the elements in so much force. He regained his balance and breathed in the cool air he had brought down.

The giant flower froze, then fell to the ground and shattered. Among the frozen pieces of plant matter, Malice was not to be seen. Above the heads of his opponents, Malice hovered. Green, leaf-like wings had sprouted from his back, extending six and half feet into the air.
Malice looked down at the heroes, working a strategy to end them both.
