Lunestise laid back in the silken arms of her dining room chair, breathing in the wafting aromas of the meal placed before her. It had been a luxury indeed that for more than a month now her kingdom had gone unharmed. Her borders safe, her castle secure, her people at last feeling safe.
This war has indeed been a wonderful idea. She thought to herself as the royal taste tester came by. The young boy nearly skipped to the table to sample each of the delectable foods laid out for the Queen. She remembered the nervous shaking of his hands when he'd first started, but now he relished each day of his job. How sad he was so blissfully unaware that today would spoil all that.
The boy tried each and every item in a flash, then with a grin and a thumbs up went to the door to leave as Lunestise rose a spoon to her soup, only to hear a choking coming from the door. The boy laid stiff on the ground, and she grimaced as she saw her meal would be spoiled by unwelcome company.
"Show yourself, unless all you're good for is wasting perfectly good food." Her eyes scoured the room for any sign of movement.

Leeith stepped into view from hwere she'd been hidden among the shadows, the flickering candlelight reflecting off the bronze scimitars she weilded. "That poison was hard to find, and expensive as well." she commented, looking at the boy's body without a trace of remorse. "Tasteless, scentless, and quick. Perhaps too quick. If I'd diluted it the slightest bit the tester would have been out of earshot before he'd died, making this attempt a sucess. I promise it is a mistake I will not make twice, Queen Milicia." Her words took an almost sarcastic tone as she dropped into an offensive position, internally comparing the pros and cons of beheading her instead of merely slitting her throat.

Lunestise could only sneer at the assassin's confidence. "Loathsome girl, I did not ask to hear your excuses. Who sent you?" She asked as she circled the table slowly, eyeing up the girl. "After all, I can't very well kill the fool that sent you if you don't let me know who it was, can I?"

Leeith tensed, and stepped forward slowly, deciding to merely slit her throat. "I will tell you nothing. I came to kill you, and that is what I intend to do, nothing more." With that she lunged forward, the scimitar she weilded in her left hand slicing at her chest, the other she held slightly behind her; expecting a block and possibly a counterattack if she was armed.

Lunestise drew a small dagger from the billowed fabric of her dress, bringing it up just in time to parry the blade. Her free hand twisted with a quick gesture as a grey plume of smoke appeared in it. Tossing it to the ground the area burst in a thick cloud, giving her the time to get distance on her assailant.
"Very well. We'll see how quiet you stay after I lay you to the ground." Lunestise chanted a quick few words of power, channeling orbs of ice in each hand before lobbing one into the smoke. Come out come out you arrogant brat
