Name: Seigmand "Chessmaster" Dezmar
Description: Standing about 5’10” tall and 160 lbs. Seigmand is a man with an athletic build, though he looks slender and bookish. His face looks slightly aged for a man in his early 30s. His raven black hair is done in a ponytail, and a pair of thin framed glasses rests on his face. He dresses in regal attire usually; dark green robes embroidered with gold trim.
Occupation: King of Roccia, Watcher of the New World
Age: 33
Personality: Seigmand is a man of reasoning and planning. He rules his kingdom not by feelings or even the will of the people, but by facts and the wisdom he has gained over the years as both a war strategist and a king.
With people he has only learned recently to trust them and place some faith in the allies he had made over the years. While he no longer wishes to use people as tools in his plans, he is not above deceit and manipulation to get what he wants from his enemies.
Alignment: Neutral. He is aligned with the Watchers of the New World, but only to help him against those of the Sumata he betrayed. He will only help with cause, and strike against someone with cause.
Equipment: Vials containing a few alchemic weapons(flash-bangs, smoke clouds, mostly support potions), A book he uses to catalogue data about any powerful people he has knowledge of or meets in battle(To date contains data on many of the royals, the Heroes that opposed Trucido, and those he has either lost to or let live over the years), as well as adventuring and survival equipment for his journey.
Weapons: A segmented bo staff, has the ability to break up into many pieces tethered together by chains. Maximum of 10 segments, at which point the staff acts more like a whip, able to extend out exactly 12 feet.
Combat: Seigmand is an adequate fighter, but most of his skill on the battlefield comes from his sharp intellect and ability to read his opponent’s patterns through observation. His staff is used primarily to keep foes at range while he uses his geomancy to trap and bind his foe. In the end his quick reflexes and calm demeanor get him through a fight more than strength and endurance. His martial arts concentrate around powerful strikes and steady stances, making him a deadly foe to be hit by, and difficult to trip up.
Magic: Geomancy, specializes in trapping and defense. His control extends mainly to solid earth, mud, rock, and sand. As with any Geomancer he is much stronger when his body is in contact with his medium, and uses gestures and heavy movements to manipulate the terrain around him. While his art doesn’t rely on specific spells, he instead shapes his medium, either creating solid objects, changes in the terrain, or flowing extensions to do battle. This allows him to combine most normal hand to hand attacks with Geomancy strikes in one movement.
Flaws: Seigmand is a man of logic and analysis to a fault. He is slow to act on any risk unless he is certain of success, and his fear of letting anyone get close enough to be able to hurt him has left him without friends or close allies.
In addition his Geomancy power is only strong when he is close to his medium, leaving him weak and easy to attack in the air. Lastly, as Seigmand style relies more on knowledge of his opponent than his own strength he is significantly weaker fighting someone he knows little to nothing about.
History: Seigmand grew up in one of the many warring tribes on the barren plains of Roccia. His father, Loxos, was the chieftain of a particularly barbaric tribe called the Asmati. Seigmand was almost banned from his tribe for his weak body as a child, but was kept when his father learned of Seigmand’s skill at war strategy. Though the Asmati had lost power over the years, the teenage Seigmand was able to help them succeed in many battles through strategy and pre-battle planning.
Eventually the Asmatis were the most powerful tribe out in the barrens, and Loxos felt they could conquer Silicis City and attain true status in the Roccia kingdom. Yet before the siege took place the Asmati were attacked; their army’s numbers severely reduced. What none of them knew was the Seigmand had been approached by the previous king of Roccia, King Salazine with an offer of wealth and privilege in exchange for sabotaging the siege. Seigmand stated he would only on the condition that the King adopt him as his son after the battle was over and the king agreed out of fear of civil war. In the end it was arranged to appear as if Seigmand was handed over to him as a hostage to ensure the Asmati would never be able to coordinate a successful attack on Silicis City.
Over the years Seigmand was tutored in the ways of Geomancy, combat and scholarly disciplines till his 20th birthday. It was only shortly after this that King Salazine fell ill and died shortly afterwards due to a slow and steady poisoning that Seigmand gave him. Escaping suspicion he was crowned the new King of Roccia. Seigmand’s first decree as King was to open the gates of Silicis City to the Asmati and gave them reign over it, allowing the city to become a den of violence and brutal entertainment that his father so craved.
Sumata Arc
With the appearance of Trucido and the Sumata Seigmand joined willingly. At first drawn in by the power his views changed drastically when he learned the true plan of Trucido was to destroy the world. Immediately he worked to hinder Trucido's plans from the shadows, working with the Sumata while sabotaging them when he could and offering hints to the Heroes.
His efforts finally hit a climax when he joined forces with the defector King Onyx Volkanon and took on Trucido with the aid of the gods' power. Though they failed to stop him, the path he forged with the now-deceased Onyx had changed Seigmand for the better.
