So I don't know how well the rest of you keep up to date with movies, and more specifically superhero movies. I bring it up because before too long "The Dark Knight Rises" will be in theatres and I'm sad to say that my hype could not be lower for it.
I can't exactly pin down why. After all, Dark Knight was awesome. While I may not have loved Batman Begins it did a decent job bringing his origin story to light, and the climax was good when it finally happened. Still, for what little we've seen of the last of the Christopher Nolan trilogy, my hopes are low.
Maybe it's the fact that Bane is the villain. Maybe it's the fact that Anne Hathaway is playing Catwoman, a sexually charged character being played by perhaps the least sexually evocative actress I can think of. Or maybe it's just the fact that I doubt there's anyway they can possibly top the greatness that was Heath Ledger's Joker.
So, what do you guys think? Are you pumped for The Dark Knight Rises? Do you think it'll be better, worse, or as good as the other two? Any predictions for how you think the series will end?(My guess is Batman dies)

You pretty much hit it on the head, I simply can not see why they picked Anne Hathaway, not that she's a bad actress but I'm not sure if she can play it right! I suppose we'll see soon though. Of course, I'll still go to see it...

I'm quite in agreement with the pair of you! I mean, let's face it, Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker was ultimately unique in the fact that he actually made the Joker, a character who is normally quite twisted but still humorous, a genuinely scary character. Now, all of that comes down to director Christian Nolan's brilliant casting of Heath.
Now, Tom Hardy (Who will be playing Bane) is a relatively unknown actor from the UK and as such I feel the need to support the development of a good British Actor. He recently came into the limelight in films like 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' and the soon to be released 'This Means War'. Whilst I doubt his performance will top Ledger's, I myself am putting myself in the hands of Nolan in trusting that he's cast the right actors for the right characters.
I have absolutely no idea how the series will end but I do know this, I will bet that we see a much darker, grittier version of Batman. Whilst I don't think the film will be as good as The Dark Knight, I do believe it will be a spectacular finish to the series. :3
