Earth clothes?[/i] Nintsu thought as he started to follow her, "I thought I was wearing earth clothes. I suppose a military uniform IS out of place. I don't see anyone dressed like me.[/i]
"What do you have in mind?"[/i] He asks

"Jeans, t-shirt, keep it simple I think. I can probably lend you one of my hoodies, but you can't keep it if I do," She replied over her shoulder, leading the two through the streets of L.A. to her apartment, trying to remember if she'd paid rent before she left for Allorum a week or so before...

"Oooh can I get a pretty dress? With sparkly things on it?" Aey asked, clapping excitedly as she followed Faey and Nintsu. "Maybe something to match my hair? Or no- would that be too much? I'm not sure, I usually don't mind but if we can't be drawing too much attention to ourselves maybe sparkly things is a bad idea... Do you have anything shiny?"

I suppose I can live with simple clothes,[/i] He thought as he followed silently, trying not to interfere with the question. Still, he couldn't help but smile as he heard Aeyara. He knew her ignorance/indifference could get them in trouble, but he found it quite amusing. For now, he was just going to follow and listen.

"Uh, I'll see what I can do..." Faey replied doubtfully. She didn't think she owned, or ever owned, anything that sparkled.
It was only about ten minutes before Faey stopped in front of an apartment and started digging around in her pocket for her keys to let them in. Inside it was messy, with books and CDs strewn around on almost every available surface, with a eat-in kitchenette area, small living room with a TV and a hallway leading farther back into the apartment. "Make yourselves at home," she said, going over to the fridge immediately to get her personal favorite- orange soda.

Nintsu was surprised by how messy the place was. At first he thought she had been robbed, but Faeylinn didn't seem fazed by it so he shrugged and walked in. He looked around for something he should be doing, but in the end he just stayed silent, walked into the living room, cleared some junk off of a chair and sat down.

Faey smiled sheepishly when she saw Nintsu have to move a ple of junk to sit down. "Uh, yeah, sorry about the mess, I wasn't expecting to have anyone over. Feel free to move anything that's lying around, as long as it's not my books." For the most part, her books were stacked on the table and next to the TV, out of the way, so they shoudn't have to, but Faey was very picky about where her books were placed. "Are either of you hungry?"

"Starving! Do you have anything to drink?" Aey grinned as she knocked aside a pile of... something that was there... and sat down on one side of the couch. "So is all of Earth this cool? Or are there a lot of boring people like Allorum can get sometimes?"

"I'm not that hungry, thank you." Nintsu was too proud to continue to mooch meals off of his friend.
He then turned to look at Aeyara, "I remember a lot of earth being like this. There are places that are less,"[/i] He pauses searching for the right word, "happening, as a city like this though."[/i]

Faey glanced up at the sound of something hitting the floor and shot a death-glare at Aeyara. "Didn't I just say not to touch my books?" Rather irritated now, and obviously protective of her books, she went over and picked up the small pile of novels Aey had knocked to the floor and headed down the hallway and into a room on the right. After a minute she came back out into the main living area, without the books.
"The city is one of the more exciting places on Earth, but there are a lot of boring people. And no magic."

No Magic.........[/i] The words echoed in Nintsu's mind. He wasn't sure he believed it, but he wasn't sure if it was a false memory or if it was truly from earth.
"I remember Tons of Magic on Earth, but here we call it 'Science' and put it into machines that allow whoever has the machine to perform its magicks."[/i]

Faey nodded, "Well, I suppose technology could be viewed as magic, of a sort. But many view it as simply technology- there's nothing magical about it to me. Someone who isn't familiar with how an iPod works would think the music coming from the little metal device was magic, but when you grow up here, at least for me... You know how it works. It's nothing special, and not magic at all. I guess it's all perspective."

"I'm confused now.... Is there magic here or not?" Aey whined from her spot on the couch. "Better question; where's the nearest bar?"

"I'm not sure really, I've never been here and I wasn't exactly on the lookout for one. We are in a city though, so I'm sure there are plenty around."[/i]

"There is not magic here," Faey clarified, and then raised an eyebrow at Rossignol, "And you aren't going near a bar. Not only would you need ID to get in, but I'm not dealing with you drunk- you're going to end up in jail sober at this rate."
