A Fated Meeting (Leeith/Liatra)

[Liatra]

Liatra turned back to Leeith, looking her in the eyes.
"Why else would two strangers meet in such a desolate place such as this? We both feel led here by some force, call it what you will, and yet it would seem there is no reason. Would you believe there was?"

[Leeith]

"Perhaps." Leeith removed her hands from her weapons again, watching Liatra cautiously. "What reason do you think it could be?"

[Liatra]

"The answer must be near, if there is one at all..." she said as she looked around at the ruins. There was so little left... But something was waiting, she knew... She sighed.
Fate can be quite confusing at times...

[Leeith]

"Or perhaps we were simply meant to know one another." If that was the purpose of their meeting, Leeith would certainly leave rather irritated- she was never a people person and she almost hated meeting new people.

[Liatra]

Liatra looked at Leeith again, curious. It was hard to read her, past the clear annoyance on the surface.
"Perhaps..." she echoed quietly. "May I ask, what is your name?"

[Leeith]

"You may ask, but you will have to earn the answer with your own name." Leeith obviously wasn't offering information- getting something out of her could be difficult at the best of times.

[Liatra]

A small smile touched her lips.
"Very well... I am Liatra. And you are?" she had no problem giving her name, unlike the warrior she was speaking to. Some things are not as powerful as one might believe unless you give it such power. Names were relative.

[Leeith]

"My name is Leeith." She replied rather reluctantly. She bowed her head slightly in acknowledgement, then narrowed her eyes at the woman. "Who are you?" This question obviously asked for more than her name.

[Liatra]

Her name had been one thing... To ask who she was was an entirely different subject, and far more dangerous.
"That depends on who you are to me, miss Leeith... May I ask where your allegiances lie?"

[Leeith]

"I have no allegiances." She was not easily bought, either, but she left this part out, waiting to see what exactly this woman was asking.

[Liatra]

"I see... I am a captain of Ketulunanox." Liatra said, looking honestly at Leeith for her reaction. "Though lately I've been following Fate's path more than fighting."

[Leeith]

"and where has 'Fate' led you?" This was said a little condescendingly, despite the fact that Leeith honestly was curious.

[Liatra]

"Right here, miss Leeith." Liatra chuckled. "As obvious as it may seem, there is much more than that. On the surface of a person, all you see may be hair, skin, and cloth. But underneath..." she pulled up the sleeve of her dress, exposing the pale skin of her arm and showing the blue-ish veins. "There is far more, and it is more complex than any one person may comprehend. Fate is just as such. There is a reason for everything, miss Leeith."

[Leeith]

Leeith nodded quietly, not bothering to voice her dislike of the formality 'miss' yet, but processing this womans surprisingly profound view on life. "You are a captain of Ketalunox. But that does not tell me; where do your allegiances lie?"

[Liatra]

"Wherever Fate sees my allegiance best served towards its purpose." she answered simply.
