Tidus careened around in the portal, while most of the heroes would land on the other side of the portal...he was gonna be shot off elsewhere. Soon he could see a hole and a spot of red in front of him, he fell through the portal and landed on a stone ground.
"Owww...." he said, slowly standing up. He looked around at where he was, which seemed to be a castle. There was a royal banner hanging on the walls, carpeting on the floor, even some vases of flowers he'd never seen. "What castle is this...?"
He frowned, looking at the banners and taking a second to try and remember the symbol. "...Oh! This is Ignis!"
As he said that the portal behind him closed up, and the doors behind him opened up. Guards swarming in.
"Halt!" the guards yelled, aiming their weapons at him. "Who does trespass in Lady Presul's castle?!"
"I wasn't..." Tidus paused, "Wait...Lady Presul? As in...Incendia Presul? She's here? She's a queen!?"
The guards looked back and forth at each other, motioning at a third guard.
"Go get Lady Presul, see if she knows this boy...and make it quick!" he barked, getting the youngish knight off in a hurry.

Incendia Presul had thankfully not been doing anything very important when she was called about an intruder in the castle who claimed to know her. Otherwise she would have been very annoyed and would not have cared enough to listen.
After hearing the knight's description of the intruder, she was curious and went to see.
Still, she wasn't expecting to see...
"Tidus?" she said, shocked to see him. "What are you doing here?" she asked. She had heard he'd returned to his home.

"That's exactly what I was thinking," Tidus said, looking at Incendia wearing a more royal garb than a mercenary outfit. "Why are-"
He stopped when the guards were still pointing weapons at him, "You guys mind?"
They paused for a bit and slipped away their weapons, allowing Tidus to walk up to her. "How did you become queen?"

She shrugged.
"After the last king died there weren't many other people who would take the throne, so I decided to. Better than jobless again, at least." she signaled for the guards to leave.
"So why are you here? Has something happened?" she asked after they left.

Typical Incendia, he thought.
"I don't know...I was minding my own business when a portal showed up, similar to the ones Profeta use to make..." he crossed his arms. "But beyond that...I have no idea what's going on. Have you seen Volkmar? What's he up to?"

She shrugged.
"He's doing well, though he's not here right now. I think he gets really bored staying around here all the time, and I'm a little too busy to stop him from leaving..." she said, a bit awkward.

"Well with him you never know, but he's probably gone to Ketulunanox." Presul said.
"If you want I could probably get someone to run things here for a few days and we can find him. I'm sure he'd be glad to see you."

Tidus blinked for a minute, "You... want to come with me."
Although he was grateful for the company he was a little curious on why she would wanna go and help him find Volkmar. He either did something he wasn't supposed to, or she missed him. Either one didn't matter.
"Um...if you think you can, then sure I'd like the company."

"Seeing as how quickly you got yourself into trouble already, having me with you would be a fairly good idea." Presul said. She went to the door and spoke to the guards.
"Get my things ready, I'm going out for a few days." the guard nodded and left, and she turned to Tidus.
"So how have you been?"

Tidus bit his lower lip as the whole year of his life seemed to flash across his mind, of all the stuff that's happened to him.
"I um...I've had better moments. I'm glad I'm back here."

Presul smiled, not that you could tell past the mask she had on. Though she had been trying to get out of the habit of wearing it since she was queen, she had decided to wear it today. "Welcome back, Tidus."

When Incendia said those words a rush of emotion washed over Tidus, he felt...happy. The first time he felt it in a long time, like for once things were finally going right. He found a place where he was needed, where he had friends, someplace he belonged. He gave a big smile and nodded.
"Thanks."
I'm back, and I'm here to stay...and there's no one who could ever convince me otherwise.
