Andy was crushed, devastated at the thought of leaving Allorum and not knowing when he'd come back. He actually stumbled back a little, he felt his head spin as he really began to take in the land around him...and how much he took it for granted. He heard Jasmine's voice and zeroed in on it, making himself focus on it to keep him standing.
"I couldn't do that. You have family here...Earth would take away everything you've been studying, I can't do that to you."

Jasmine tried to keep smiling, but it failed badly to stay on her face as she sighed disappointingly and put her arms around Andy again.
"I know. But you know I don't want you to leave, either," she said sadly, "I'm just looking for another way for this to work. There has to be something, right?"

Andy searched his brain to desperately think of some reason to stay that didn't involve an Angel war upon them.
"It wouldn't be forever," Griever said. "We just need some time to calm the angels down...once we are sure they will not hunt down all of you we will give you the choice to return to Allorum or remain on Earth."
Andy looked at Griever, "You promise?"
He nodded, "You have my word, that you will return to Allorum and be with your friends again. For all of you." he spoke to the Earth warriors.

Well, it wasn't exactly what they were hoping for but at least it was a lot better than what it could have been. The question was for how long did this have to last?
"We just need to wait, then," Jasmine was quiet as she spoke, "you will wait, won't you, Andy?"
It could be soon, it could be longer. If it wasn't days or weeks maybe it was going to be years. What if it was so far away that they were old like her father when they finally met again?
It was these thoughts in mind that told Jasmine to not hold her breath, she'd understand if he wasn't willing to wait however long it was until they were with each other again. It would hurt, of course, but at least it would be better to get it over with now.

Andy turned at her and for a second he could see the worry and fear of her eyes, it was then he could understand Vincent and Hala when Vincent was away for so long.
"Yeah, I will wait." he said, "I will wait as long as it takes, until the portal is reopened, then I will return."

He said he'd wait. This couldn't have made Jasmine any more happier, if she couldn't be with him now then she would someday. Better than never.
"You have to promise!" she teased, smile returning to her face as she looked up at Andy again, "just like I'll promise to wait for you, no matter what Papa says."
She looked down at the necklace he'd placed around her neck earlier, huddled close behind her mother's old necklace. Sure, the purple was a girlier necklace but regardless Jasmine found herself removing the large-beaded purple necklace and holding it up to Andy.
"Take this with you, even--if not to remind you of me, then to ensure that Papa can't get crazy ideas and try to marry me off before you get back. One of Mother's biggest wishes was that I wear this on my wedding day, afterall," she sheepishly laughed as she said this. It was really embarrassing but at the same time it was her 'fool-proof' plan because she knew well enough that Vincent would do anything for Hala and if that's what she had wanted...

Andy looked at the necklace for a bit and thought about it, he didn't know what Vincent was like with Hala...but if he did respect her wishes then taking the necklace would be a good thing. For them anyway.
He took the necklace in his hand and allowed it to slip between his fingers, holding it securely so it wouldn't fall and break. He turned to Griever and Eden.
"So...what now?"
