The Other Guys (Plot Thread 2.4)

[Kevin Uruhane]

Shortly after the attack of those monsters, the Heroes and Knights left, Kevin arrived into town a man traveling with him. Looking at the mess before him he frowned.

"Whoa, looks like something went down here..." he commented, looking at the wreckage. "You said you felt a Lunar Knight's presence? Could this be tied with this town, or even the uprising in spacial energy Kurai?"

He was referring to the man traveling with him.

[Kurai Horo]

Kurai looked up from the book he was reading "Hm?" he asked looking around at the devastation "Well, I felt an upsurge of lunar energy around here somewhere but it was un-refined, most likely a new Lunar knight..." he shrugged "But I do agree, something definitely went down here" he looked around for any possible hints "Do you think we should ask around about what happened?" he asked, looking back down to his book.

[Kevin Uruhane]

Kevin nodded, "Yeah, lets poke around. When we get our answers lets see if we find the source of where this energy went off..."

He and Kurai walked around the town for a bit, pausing when he found a small group of people cleaning up a shop. They walked up to them and introduced themselves.

"Howdy," Kevin tipped his hat, "We hate to be a bother but can you tell us what happened here?"

One of the women looked at the two of them and sighed, "An attack, just when we seen the end of them they pop back up again. This time it was these strange creatures that fell from the sky."

[Kurai Horo]

Kurai raised his right eyebrow "Strange creatures, huh?" he asked scratching his head and putting his book in a small bag attached to his waist. He glanced around at the devastation once more before cupping his chin with his hand "And what do you mean 'just when we seen the end of them' are you insinuating that there's been more than one attack today?"

[Kevin Uruhane]

The man this time answered the question, "Well it was barely a year ago when we were almost devastated by the Sumata's giant weapon, just when we really get things going these other creatures come in."

"It's not even the Sumata this time, it's...something new." the woman chimed in, "we were lucky the Heroes were in town during all this."

"The Heroes were here?" Kevin asked, finding it odd that the same time Kevin felt a mass in spacial energy and that Kurai sensed a Lunar Knight, is the same time a creature attack happens when the Heroes happen to be here.

[Kurai Horo]

"Most convenient! Don't you think Kevin?" he asked, his cheekbones rising in a smile behind his half-face mask, the fact that the heroes were here at the same time he had sensed an influx in lunar energy was a fair convenience, definitely something worth checking out in the least "Excuse me, but could you point us in the direction of these heroes? Do you know where they went?"

[Kevin Uruhane]

"Convenient indeed," Kevin commented, the two people they were talking to though didn't seem to know where they left. However, the woman on their right spoke up suddenly.

"I do actually..." the beautiful long hair brunette spoke. "You see...my son is with them."

Kevin's attention suddenly sky-rocketed, "Your son went with them?"

"Yes," the woman nodded, "You see...he's...they said he's a Lunar Knight."

Kevin's eyes glanced at Kurai's, they found what they were looking for.

[Kurai Horo]

Kurai's eyes didn't flicker he instead simply shrugged "That would explain the influx in energy, if he was untrained the power would have been used in a beserker rage over anything else, either the boy was in danger or threatened" he looked across at the woman "Excuse me Ms, but you said you knew where your son went?" He placed his right hand on his chest "I myself am a Lunar Knight, and if my companions are travelling with my friend's heroes, then your sons location would be a great help"

[Kevin Uruhane]

The woman looked at the both of them, she didn't answer right away, instead she placed the flower pot she was holding back on the shelf.

"I'll tell you...on one condition." she said.

"Which is...?" Kevin asked.

"When you find my son...try and convince him to come back home." she asked.

Kevin lowered the brim of his hat a bit, "Um, although I don't mean to point fingers but...why didn't you stop him from leaving?"

"I tried," she continued, "But my son is the most stubborn boy I know, he wanted to go...and I let him go but...it's going to be so dangerous and I already lost my husband, his father, and I don't want to lose him too."

Kevin felt a twinge of familiarity, on both accounts, he himself lost his wife...and for a brief point they had raised the young Andy Jammer as their son. Threatening to be swallowed up in memories he cleared his throat.

"I...I don't know if I can convince him to return, but I sure will at least try." Kevin promised.

"That's all I could ask for," the woman nodded, "they left the city several hours ago, to go to the wharfs and catch a boat to Ghiaccio."

[Kurai Horo]

"Ghiaccio..." Kurai muttered with a frown "Why would he take him there..." he said to himself briefly before straightening up and bowing to the woman "Thank you for your help, but I must tell you this now. If your son is a Lunar Knight, and from the influx in power I felt he no doubt is, I fear he may not be able to return to you just now" whilst his visible eye looked lazy he made sure his voice had an air of authority to it "The duty of a Lunar Knight is to keep the world safe from the power of it's moon, and it is an honorable duty, you should be proud of your son." His words were blunt yet calm, he had a guess how it must feel to be seperated from your child but still, the boy was needed.

"Shall we go Kevin?" He asked reaching in to his bag to retrieve the book he had been obsessing over for the past few days.

[Kevin Uruhane]

Kevin winced a bit at his partner's bluntness, the woman seemed to be expecting it though and did not retaliate with any words. Perhaps she guessed it wouldn't happen, but she wanted someone to at least try. Kevin nodded to leave but the woman then spoke.

"Wait, one moment," she said, digging into her pouches. "I have a picture of him...the local artist did a drawing of him, it's close likeness so you'll be able to recognize him."

"Of course," Kevin nodded, taking the slip of paper she gave him. When he looked at the image though his eyes widened, what...what the hell?

"Ma'am...this is your son?" Kevin asked, just to be sure, the woman nodded and Kevin suddenly felt like someone was pulling the biggest 'pull my finger' prank ever.

[Kurai Horo]

Kurai sidled over to Kevin's side and looked over his shoulder at the picture, the boy was short but he had a distinct young face and big eyes, he had a look of steel and determination "Perfect Lunar Knight material..." he thought to himself before noting Kevin's shock reaction to the picture "What's the problem?" He asked scratching his head, he looked back at the pictures "Ahh, I get it, you think he's too young right?" He said, closing his eyes in a grin.

[Kevin Uruhane]

Kevin shook his head, "No not that you see..."

He first pulled Kurai aside and pointed to the picture, "You ever hear of the Kishu? The group of saviors who defend the people of Allorum? Well, you see, their leader Roxa Sairen? He has this face."

He paused to point at the drawing and said, "Either the woman is not being truthful, or...and this is a big or...this boy is a dead on resemblance of a man whose been sealed for over 1000 years...give or take a year."

[Kurai Horo]

"I'm sure there's a logical explanation..." he said with a smile and a wave at the boys mother who had clearly noticed how Kevin was pointing at the picture "I've heard rumours about this Roxa guy but even if he was sealed away for a thousand years, surely he could possibly have descendants? Or something like that" he plucked the picture from Kevin's hand, turned his back to everyone and then quickly lifted his headband from his left eye, scanning the picture he copied it into a mental image, covered his eye and then turned back and handed the picture back to the boys mother "Thank you once again!" he said enthusiastically.

The woman seemed confused as they walked off, the word about descendants seemed to make sense to Kevin but then it brought up some thoughts...

Well, it seemed like these were thoughts they'd have to ask Roxa himself...if they ever saw him.

"Alright, lets get going." he said, pushing the brim of his hat back down on his head and moving away.
